Profession Voice Trainers?

Hello again everyone. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with actual voice trainers? I'm planning on getting the finding your female voice thing from Stealth.inc off of amazon. but i was wondering if a voice trainer might be able to give a more tailored approach. mainly cause i've heard alot of people say "oh i'll never be able to do as good as she does in the video" and i have a tendency to get discouraged easily.. thank you major depressive disorder...... /sarcasm. but yeah i think i might actually benefit more from having someone to encourage me when i'm getting discouraged, and help point out where i need to make adjustments, than i would watching a video over and over. but i will prolly try the video for a bit and see if it does help... i'm still debating on this part. i know i'd like to avoid surgical methods if i can when it comes to my voice.

as always. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Anira,

My plans were to go to a voice trainer this year. It hasn't happened yet, probably won't since other priorities have arisen. I also bought the Deep Stealth CD, but, for myself, had difficulty getting enough private time to practice.

In the local area, I believe that there are several voice trainers to choose from, and pricing is modest (less than electrolysis). But beyond that, I've no experience to lend.

If it's any encouragement, I went full time with a terrible voice. I believe that it has improved - the old male monotone is giving way to a more melodic voice as I've become more relaxed. My mate is a constant encouragement to me in those times when I forget. It's a practice, to be perfected. If I do go to a coach, it will be a long time in the future at this point - "Help me pass on the phone, please!!!"

Love, Megan.

Hi Anita:

I have a 3 CD Rom set that I play daily in my car to and from work. When I started out, my voice sounded about as feminine as a steel garbage can bouncing down the highway. After six months, I am literally amazed at the difference that daily practice in the car to and from work has made. It's key to have water available to keep your throat hydrated. Beautiful voices come from practice and more practice. At first your vocal chords will tire easily. I can now reach notes that half of all woman can only dream of. I would have bet the farm 6 months ago that it would be impossible for me to reach those levels, but I'm hammering it every day now. Several weeks ago, I was able to completely fool my executive assistant. She wanted to know who that woman is who is answering your phone. I had the hardest time keeping a straight face, but enjoyed the feeling as awesome. You can do it. Just keep telling yourself you have to practice until you get it right. It's one of the most important things you can do in transition is perfect your voice. Kathryn

Nope.  I live in a rural area.  Pride events are for city folks.  The normally quiet LGBTQ+ club kind of changes atmosphere during that time, and things get a bit political.  As a non-Democrat, I avoid it.

For me, definitely the size thing.  I'm 5'4" on a good day, and 100lbs.  I can pass as a teenage boy, but never for my real mid-30s age.  And since my husband looks older than his age, I'm often assumed to be his kid.  Or folks think there's something illegal going on.      Also, my lack of the typical aggressive "masculine" demeanor.  I don't really desire the typical masculine social role, nor could I do it even if I tried really hard.  I'm usually quiet and kind of timid.

I am sorry for your struggles. I cannot empathize, but I can surely sympathize. I wish only the best for you!

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!
