So anyone going to be in Thailand between July 19th and August 8th? I'll be at the Preecha Clinic.

My friends say I'm crazy going solo, but I've been all over the place and it doesn't bother me.

OMG, it's like next week!!!

Like it certainly is!

Yoikes!

(Sorry, I thought that we were using Scooby Doo dialog. :))

Now the excitement is really building - hard to even pretend that it isn't and it should be, this is what you have waited a lifetime for and now it is really here!

Wish I could go with you but since I cannot - do get that Skype going again.

Love ya,

Sally

I just have to make one comment about the title of this topic, "Thailand in July" - it will never replace "April in Paris" anywhere but in the Transsexual Community.

I mean, really!

I went to Thailand in the summer once, our plane landed at 2:30 AM and when they opened the door, all of the way up in First Class the heat wave came so hard that it felt like you were standing next to an oven with the door open - the temperature was the low for that week at only 102 degrees and somehow the humidity seemed to be more than 100%.

Luckily you will be inside for most of this slightly warm weather - I understand that it is much nicer than the rainy season.

Somehow I think that you will not really be thinking about the weather very much - congratulations again!

Love ya,

Sally

wow Sally! So... in Thailand weather is burning hot or super-rainy...? :/

...not a good place to live in, i suppose... but in clinics You are like "protected" against all this... no...?

I personally love summers like that, not so much to the extent of Thailand, since where I live is Sub-tropic, but I still love it :)

It's a nice place to live for some :D

Shelley Anne, good luck with everything, and be sure to let us know you're safe!

Sorry, sorry... i didn't want to disrespect Thailand or its marvellous people, saying that... i know that every place in the world has its beauties, good sides and bad sides too... and my country has more bad sides than Thailand, for sure!

It's my fault, my english is so poor... i just wanted to say that, coming from a totally different place, it could be not so easy to get used, in a short time as that, to such a different climate! Just this...

Anyway, lot of hugs to Shalley Anne again!!! :)

I lived in Texas for my entire life until 2 years ago - I was prepared for Summer in Thailand and now that I have lived in New Orleans for 2 years I could probably handle the rainy season.

Thailand is a beautiful country - jungles like that do not grow anywhere outside of the tropics, they have some of the world's most beautiful plants, animals and ancient temples - blended into some amazing modern mega-cities!

I loved my stay in Thailand and would love to go back - I wish that I could accompany Shelley but it is a long and expensive trip.

Again Congratulations Shelley.

Sally,

I would dearly love you as my companion on this journey. Last time I was there was in between the hot and rainy seasons and was half way descent. Strange though it may be we got off the plane and went for Thai food, only had a couple of hours that time but I'm looking forward to an extended stay even if I'll be spending it recooperating.

I'm going to get out my Murray Head album Chess and listen to one night in Bangkok.

One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster The bars are temples but the pearls ain't free You'll find a God in every golden cloister And if you're lucky then the God's a she I can feel an angel sliding up to me.

Love Ya Dearly

Yes, Alice Springs is in the heart of the desert ^_^ If you go North-east / East into Queensland, thats where you find the Subtropics :D

I was Australia, cruised over from New Zealand to Melbourne, then to Brisbane (hot, hot, hot) and to Sydney then Harrison Island, I also went to the rain forest near Karunda and snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef it was beautiful and quite a change of climates from one location to the next.

They say that travel broadens you - maybe that is why I am so much overweight - I have been everywhere and I am definitely broadened.

hi vidanjali !! i know exactly what you mean, i do have a few trans and otherwise queer friends nearby me but currently i present as 'cis' for obvious reasons so it's not all that easy for me to reach out and find that kind of community (though i do love my irls!!)   but yeah, i get this weird paranoia that if i come out to too many people it'll end up tracing back to my folks (not everyone knows my family is homophobic and being outed is a big fear of mine)   but im sooo happy to know that that feeling was just dysphoria !! i thought i was going crazy for a minute !!.   thanks so much for welcoming me, and you have a great day too !!

hi susan!! thats very much how i feel !! i have no issue explaining my gender or educating other people on transness but it feels like im talking to a brick wall of misinformation even if they are well-meaning and accepting people ! but thank you anyways for welcoming me here !!

This is a fairly long video by Philosophy Tube,  (Abigail Thorne)  Discussing some of Judith Buttler's work and related stuff.   I wasn't sure where to post it, so if there is a better place, move it.

I have a fantastic therapist. She is so caring she has helped me open up so much. Unfortunately, She is ending her internship. Do to a hiring freeze at the VA she isn't going just go right into a position there.  My Endo is out of the Denver VA hospital. I haven't talked with her in probably 2 yrs. I am  looking to transfer providers and get back to seeing a GYN at the Cheyenne VA.

Shopping at the mall today and helping out at Torrid I excused myself to the restroom. The manager told me the restroom at JC Penny was much closer (I normally use the family restroom in the food court).   Upon arrival I discovered that JC Penny doesn't have a family restroom, it's either or.   The men's room was occupied with customers, and me going in with large breasts, long hair, and makeup was going to cause a stir, so I opted for the woman's room instead. I was the only one in the woman's room.    Texas state law does state that your must use the restroom that matches your chromosomes, and it's a misdemeanor to not do so, but it seemed to be the best choice (I really needed to go!)

I had some guy grab my butt on the ship.  I don't know how "real" it was, but I did not enjoy that at all.  Also did not enjoy the hazing I saw other people going through.  One person can only do so much to stop that when there are 10 people doing it.

Here is a legible copy (hopefully):

I pulled this out of a stack of old military mementos yesterday.  I guess I didn't realize how cool this one was because I did so much of this kind of thing back then.

This internet video thing is pretty amazing.  I'd call it Zoom, but there are other platforms out there.  I prefer Zoom over Teams because Zoom puts me and everyone else in the same picture.  I like seeing the whole group in one shot.  Teams of course is about having so many people that you can't get them in the shot, or is it?   Just saying that I have never met any of my counselors in person.  Doctors, of course I have and I am lucky there.  They are 3.5 miles from my house as is the main transgender surgery place in town.  I've been doing virtual visits with the medical doctors lately though.  It feels like once I became steady state, they don't need to interact with me physically that much.  I have enjoyed going into their office in my nice clothing.
