Hello everyone it's Rukia! I haven't posted in a long time, and to be honest not much has changed other than my confidence level, and what I am willing more to do out in public. So I guess there have some been some minor changes, but as for physical changes, and or medical changes nothing at all. I have been seeing a therapist, but I haven't gotten approved for hormones grant it has only been four months.

So here are some pictures of me, and what I am essentially looking for are tips to help with my appearance, mainly my face. Also I am not certain really what kind of look I am going for. I haven't taken any hormones, or really done anything thus far except wear some clothes that a friend donated me, and painted my nails. That's about it.

Nobody has commented yet? You have nice, feminine hands, and posture, and the hair actually looks pretty good :D Normally I think longer hair is better, but you pull it off well. The only part you may need to focus on is your eyebrows.

Hey there Serenia, :)

I agree with Xeda, eye brows, and maybe a nice eye shadow that will make your eye stand out. :) Could just be me tho, I am an eye shadow girl hehe :)

Thank you all. So I took your advice i got my eyebrows done, but not much of a drastic difference. I think the largest difference in this picture is that I wore some makeup. What do you think?

OK, another item, do not use your lipstick ear to ear. Pucker up for a small kiss, like you would give your maiden aunt, and outline the area in the pucker zone. This will probably be about a lipliner pencil width in from the corners of your mouth. Use a more raspberry color than the red red that you have and fill in the lines. The liner goes just on the line between your lip and face skin. Fluff your hair a little more while you are at it, to give it some body.

I agree with Vicky. But I am not fond of lipliner, I found a quick and easy solution that takes 30 seconds on the fly and lasts for hours. I like liquid lip gloss. The almost last thing out the door I put on a pale pink lip gloss fully covering my lips. 15 seconds. I then gather up all my arsenal, purse, keys, phone, did I remember my ear rings, lock the back door? Next I go back and use New York Color Cityproof red lip gloss, using Vicky's grandma kiss method. 15 more seconds. When I press my lips together I get a nice blending of color that looks very natural, showy but not overdone, for a casual look. It lasts for hours. I get a lot of kisses from girl friends, so I must be doing something right. Irresistible lips??? Maybe? Makes me smile. Giggle.

Also, I hope I'm not too critical. It may be the lighting, but your make-up has too much red on the cheeks. Tone that down for a much more natural yet highlighted look. You will have your look in only a few tries. You have nice natural skin tone and wonderful features. The Hormone Fairy is gonna love you. You go girl! Hug. JodyAnn

You really are starting from quite close to the mountain top. (Jealous). Anyway, I would suggest getting your eyebrows done again, narrowed to the edges. Slim dangly earrings also do something mysterious, I can't put my finger on it. They just kind of do. Your neck area is also just waiting to be decorated also.

Happy decorating.

I'm double posting only on the grounds that I didn't say thank you. I'm not really sure if I'll ever start hormones, because that seems like a huge battle in its self. I was going to therapy, but my therapist won't even consider it. It's kind of stressing me out, because I feel like androgen hasn't kicked in yet except for my facial hair.So that worries me a lot, but I do have to ask.. what does fluff your hair mean exactly? Also I think the lighting kind of makes me look more feminine than I actually do, grant it is just florescent lighting from the dorm.

I'll be going to some Pride events as a spectator.  Maybe marching in a parade if they have open participation.    The event we'd prefer to go to is held in a small town with a population of less than 600.  They have a parade through all three blocks of their downtown area.  Unfortunately, this year it is on the same day as a memorial service for a friend who passed away this winter, so we'll have to miss it.  So our second choice is a larger town, population about 9000, a bit farther away.    And we are keeping our eyes open for other events in the general area as they are announced.   I dress a bit flashier than normal, with some trans bling, such as rainbow or trans flag earrings, a trans symbol pendant, and a handheld trans flag to wave.  Political sentiment is turning against us, but public sentiment here is still strongly on our side, so getting out and showing the flag, both literally and figuratively, is important.

I had that going on with my last two partners who were 20 years older than me.  One of them looked older for her age as well.  I remember a couple times being in the grocery store a decade ago and having people ask "can I help you ladies with something?" and then I'd turn around with my red beard.  Well before I started transitioning, but my partner knew I was trans back then.   I struggle with this as well.  My music and political career can have a masculine edge to it that I don't like.  It's been really frustrating lately.  I don't like pushing myself on others or telling people what to do.  I've been running a website for 25 years and have virtually never tried to promote it or even look at any analytics.  I don't want to push it on anyone.  I put what I have on it and make it publicly available.  It's part of my production process.  It keeps me sane and if someone else can find it useful, then I'm happy to share.

I'm curious, but then if I am true to myself, I have a hard time being in crowds.  I love hearing great music, but being in an audience is such a turnoff for me that I don't go to concerts or bars.  I'm just very much a producer.  I actually like doing the dishes more than going to concerts because it's an active thing.

My therapist is trying a new tact. I've named my self protection self that ssays not eating or too much exercise because when I starting because oftrauma my protective self started and also at the time the name Shay came to me and is now part of my name.  It's not like having a split personality, just my primative self protection who is always there to help me. My therapist has Shay, me and him working as a team to assure her that I am safe and to start changing her role in my life so I protect me by eating right and exercising to maintain a heathy body. It is helping a little but we just started this a few weeks ago.

Good morning, everyone!!   Yesterday was lawn mower battery day. I've been nursing the battery on my Zero Turn mower for two weeks. It gave up the ghost when I stopped to refuel yesterday so I had to run over to the local shop to get a new one. And forgot my wallet so I had to drive home and back again.   Then, I was using the garden tractor with the bagger to pick up the clippings. I cut about 7 acres so it took me awhile. When I was done, I went to refuel it and, of course, it wouldn't start when I'd finished putting in the gas. I'm hoping it was just some corrosion on the cables - cleaned them up, gave it a quick charge and it started right up. We'll see if it will hold a charge now or turn out like the Zero Turn.   House cleaning day today. And then I'm going to just relax outside for a bit and enjoy one more warm day before our temps drop and rain comes in for the weekend.   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given!!
