Sally's Thought For The Day

Sometimes being yourself isn't that hard and it is never a bad thing.

I know that isn't funny or particularly clever but it is something that we all need to know.

Sally

KNOWING what you are takes time - and you will take many detours, have to back up and reroute in a different direction, over and over.

ACCEPTING what you are usually takes a sudden flash of insight and a lot of faith in your own self-worth - trusting yourself to the point of thinking "I am just fine being what I am," which incidently produces such a relief afterward, you'll just KNOW it is the right thing.

EXPLAINING what you are is tricky - it can be done to the satisfaction of some people, but other times it just doesn't work. The key to remember is - understanding by others is an option you seek - not a requirement. If they reject your explanation - it is their loss not yours. And if you did the explaining honestly, and with a self assurance - it's THEIR FAULT, not yours, if they cannot at least give you support and encouragement.

People really don't need to truly understand, they just need to love you, love you for yourself.

...............

So my thought thought for today.

BE TRUE TO YOURSELF - nothing else matters, and people will see that.

What is the dumbest question that you can ask a middle aged transperson?

Can you keep a secret?

What is the SMARTEST question that you can ask a middle aged MTF transperson?

What are you now, 30 - 32 years old?

Love ya

Lizzy

I'm 60.....does that make me "middle" aged?

How is it possible that Chevy, GM, Ford, Dodge and Toyoto all make the best selling, toughest trucks with the biggest hauling capacity and power?

If this is possible then we only need one podium at the Olympics.

we're number one through five!

Don't ever ask me if you may borrow a tissue - the thought of its condition upon its return is not an image that I want to have with me.

So just ask me if I would give you a tissue - I will.

Love ya,

Sally - the tissue gifter

I promise I won't.

Do you feel the same way about money?

I don't know, I've never had any!

If 90% of what you worry about never happens, shouldn't we all spend a lot more time worrying about a lot more stuff?

Well it has been a year and four months since I had my last thought - you would think that this one would be really good.......don't get your hopes up.

I was wondering if I had the wrong version of the gospels - in all of mine the three wise men give their gifts to the Christ child but according to our current traditions it would seem that they simply exchanged their gifts with each other and left the Christ child out of it in the first place.

In listening to the Republican debates and noticing all of the changes of positions and attitudes I started wondering, is Mitt Romney an oximormon?

You got it half right Sally. But your word is too long :)

As a Democrat I sincerely hope he gets the nomination.

How about that donation of millions to the Mormon church and the position that the fact that the 1% have the majority of wealth in this country should be discussed privately but isn't right for public debate? Of course if I were in that 1% with him I'd agree.

This may be my first flat out political statement on the forums-or one of the few anyway.

Just couldn't resist. Think I'll go tape my fingers together so they don't get me in trouble. Or more trouble. :D

Love ya Sally

All those previous glass half full/half empty thoughts seem pretty irelevent to me. Either way, there is clearly room for more vodka.

I have always wondered about this people who 'are not themselves' before they have their morning coffee - who are they at that time and what about the person they are being - do they have to drink that first cup of coffee simultaneously in order to each get back to the right body?

If so that could work out to be a better way than HRT and SRS if you could just not be yourself in the 'right' body and give up coffee.

Lizzie, never heard that one before,so I had a laugh while drinking my morning (instant) coffee. That tastes like mud. :D

Sally, perhaps its because I just woke up,but that's some serious brain bending there. :P. Perhaps I should go back to bed, everything was much clearer there. :)

Things always seem to be clearer and make a lot more sense than they do when you are awake.

One thought against same sex marriages - just like any other marriage, they do come with all of the trappings - including In-laws!

I saw this concert in which it is said that the famous phrase of Jon Landau "I saw the future of rock and roll and his name is Bruce Springsteen" comes from that night. By the way Bruce opened for Bonnie Raitt that night and she was the better performer . . . just sayin'.

Astronomy and astrophotography.  I have done a few public presentations on the subject and could most likely wing it for an hour without putting you to sleep.   On the other hand if you need a sleeping pill, I could also talk for an hour about flying and you'd be out cold.

Please consider joining us, even if it's just for a few minutes to see what the meetings are like. I've learned so much, had so much fun and gained confidence in myself just by being a part of this amazing group of people. It's a low key, no pressure, non-judgmental chance to just be among people who are supportive, understanding and affirming of each other.    I'm travelling out of state and still planning on dropping in for awhile.    Come see what it's like!!

Thank you, Susan!! It was such an amazing experience for me. I can't remember if I even talked about it on a Zoom meeting.   Here is the link to the post I made about it. And, again, thank you for helping to give me the courage to do it.

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.
