I'm reading "The Girl Who Played with Fire," the second of Stieg Larsson's books about Lisbeth Salander, she of the Dragon Tattoo. So far, I like it as much as the first book. I can already sense the danger she faces, and wonder how her friend Mikael Blomqvuist will fit into the plot. Good stuff.

I haven't read anything new in quiet some time. However, I am currently rereading Impulse by Ellen Hopkins. It's a teen novel written in verse that I read when I was still in high school. Afterwords, I'll reread either The Loch by Steve Alten or Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card.

If any of you happen to like shark stuff, I would seriously recommend Steve Alten's MEG series. It's like Jaws, but on high dose steroids.

My ex watched first film adaptation of The Girth With the Dragon Tattoo and he said he loved it and has been nagging me to watch it and I must admit, it looks quite phenomenal, so I believe I'll read the novel first, which I may end up doing instead of rereading The Loch or Ender's Game.

Reading Spell Bound, which is the Hex Hall book 3. I really love the main character. Her sarcasm is really funny. Books one and two of the series were great.

I liked the movie and have thought of reading the books but I've heard they're pretty complex. Lots of characters and plot is hard to follow. Is that your experience with them?

The movie I did enjoy, but it was a little hard to follow.

I am currently working my way through Jean Auel's "The Land of the Painted Caves" I have also read, and own, The others in the series. She is a wonderful writer, if just a tad long winded and overly thorough.

Currently working through the Kathy Reichs books.

I am on Monday Mourning now.

She is the forensic anthropologist that the Bones TV series is based on.

I'm reading the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, about halfway through it. It takes me a while to finish reading leisure books because I have a lot of school reading (texts, articles, research), but I can't get to sleep without reading something. I have a week off so hopefully I'll finish it soon. I normally don't read mystery/thrillers but this one has such great reviews. So far I am intrigued.

I have just started reading Subterranean by James Rollins. This is the 4th book by him I have enjoyed. Thriller, mystery, action, history. Dont want to put his books down. Other books I have enjoyed by him are Doomsday Key, The Judas strain, and The last Oracle, Awesome writer who has the ability to keep the reader on edge as to what is coming next and at the same time, paints a story, using words that draws you in.

Well, I just finished Auel's, so now I have started with Dante. I do enjoy a classic now and then.

I'm reading "Pricing Beauty: The Making of a Fashion Model" by Ashley Mears. She is a sociologist who, as part of her PhD thesis, worked as a professional model, conducted interviews with the insiders, and wrote about it from a sociologist's perspective. It's very interesting!! :-)

Oooh! Another Dante fan! Just remember, it is in archaic english, so it may take some getting used to.

Umm, I presume that it is Dante's Divine Comedy, If not then disregard this post.

Reading Automated Alice by Jeff Noon. It's Alice (in Wonderland) time traveling into the future. I'm enjoying it. It's not anywhere near as weird as Vurt.

For my night-time book I'm reading a collection of Philip K. penis's short stories.

Gwenhwyfar by Mercedes Lackey was a blind buy for me but is turning out to be quite an interesting take through King Arthur's tale.

Funny autocorrect. Philip K penis is famazing; have you read "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep"? Its super-downer, but a very deep take on human empathy and the nature of the soul. penis is my 3rd favorite scifi author behind Bradbury. 451 is mindblowingly good.

Currently rereading Wicked, and then slogging through Steven King's Under the Dome to prepare for the miniseries this summer.

Yep! I love PKD! Do Androids Dream is maybe my favorite of his. Either that or Ubik. I've read quite a few of stuff and hope to get through all of it some day.

I didn't like his Valis triology and Deus Irea he co-authored with Zelazny.

Not sure.  The perp is a minor.  The problem here is NOT transgender, the problem here is incompetent and criminal administration.  See https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/family-of-loudoun-co-student-sexually-assaulted-ineptitude-of-all-involved-is-staggering/3231725/ It is more than annoying that people think the problem here is TG and that other people think the solution is some stupid statewide law.  Like an appendectomy to deal with an ingrown toe nail.    Since Loudon, I recall a boy was asked not to use the girl's restroom at a high school by one of the girls.  He, overwhelming her with height and weight,  assaulted her, claiming he had a right to be there.   Later I think eight girls beat him severely in another girl's restroom.  Again the problem is not transgender, the problem is assaults in restrooms and common courtesy.  TG is used as a smokescreen and it seems to paralyze thought among administrators who do not want to do anything to provoke controversy.

Time to get with your Primary Care doctor and be referred to a neurologist or an orthopedist.  It could be many things, too many for any of us here to guess at.

Other than the Boy Scout motto, oath, and law. I use two:   When asked how I'm doing? In all honesty I reply. I would have to make something up to complain. If asked to explain further: I reply. I know someone is having a tougher time than I am, and I pray God blesses them.   I also recite this quote that I have tagged in my signature: Courage, doesn't always roar. Sometimes it's the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."-Unknown    Saying these things daily keep me motivated.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

If this goes on, I am conceding the real possibility of being stopped in WM or somewhere by a concerned citizen who tells me, "Lady, God made you female.  I don't think you should be trying to look like a man. You need to return to your true gender and be comfortable living your life out as a woman."   Begin odd and awkward conversation.  I have been thinking about this this morning.

There are many MAGA GOP types who are not transphobes, of course. Some MAGA GOP types are transgender.

I'm hoping to read the next section today.  Many of the reforms they are calling for are good, such as expediting the military procurement process, and have nothing to do with transgender issues.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either

so, a close friend wants to cook for me   the issue is, she is a vegitarian and won't handle meat- I, on the other hand, won't handle vegetables- hate the things   every time she goes out to the shop, she comes back with something.. a cake, a fruit smoothie, a coffee, I won't eat any of it. please help me think of something that she could make for me that I'll actually eat   disclaimer: you are talking to the most pickiest eater in the world. good luck
