Good way to fix your voice if your not sure (Must have an xbox)

This is soooo much better then a phone because you get 11 people telling you how you sound.

Ahaha I guess it won't work that well for older people because you would actually have to play games for this to work. However through xbox live I play a game called

-Call of Duty

Through there I play a game that makes it so you HAVE to be in game chat.

After that I do my voice and talk to people.

The first time I did this, many people told me I sounded trans and made fun of me. HOWEVER even if they make fun of you don't worry. There were actually a lot of people that thought it was funny and tried helping me so that we could prank other people. Of course none of the people know about me but they always give me advice to perfect my voice for their own amusement. In my opinion I think it's much better then asking friends to listen to your voice because

1. You have to see them. On xbox it's just like a phone

2. Their your friends. They'll try to be nicer and lenient for you

On xbox, the people are VERY VERY VERY VERY mean. But if your a girl, they'll be extremely nice. <3

Anyways I started on August. Now it's December. Even though I already had my girl voice along time ago, I was wayyy to shy and embarassed to talk to people in my voice and I still am. Also I was not able to do my girl voice quickly. I had to warm up before I could do it. . But thanks to xbox live I have learned how to switch my voice in a matter of seconds without warming up.

As long as your strong and don't give up when they tell you--- Ohhhh you sound like a crossdresser, Transgender, man, (very very very Hurtful comments). You'll succeed. Even now I get called a guy (Because apparently only guys play xbox so they think I'm a little boy) But they still give me advice. For some of them just tell them your trying to sound like a girl to prank other people. Guaranteed you'll make friends and they'll give you advice. The bois love to prank other guys. XD Stupid bois. <3 :P

I have an xbox, and you're so brave for doing it on Call of Duty. That game is full of mean people.

However, this sounds like a really good way to get feedback. Whenever I learn to start working on my voice, this is the method I'll use. Thanks!

Ahaha how's it brave? XD No one knows who you are. All they can do is talk bad about you. And then you never meet them again or you can just block them. However, outside of xbox (Real world) It can spread, like schools, neighbors, friends, and then they talk behind your back. So I perefer to perfect things in private (If possible). For example- if you were gonna try to pass might as well drive an hr away and go to stores. They call you mam. Yay! sir. Boo. Obviously this isn't as good though because some people would just know your MtF and just say mam to be polite. -__-"".

I feel kinda bad saying this but I kinda stopped trusting friends opinions with my looks and voice. Don't get me wrong! With other stuff I totally trust but they just say what I want to hear and in my opinion, I always like blunt even if it hurts my feelings. ;P So meaner people+observant pplz=best pplz to test it out on. ;D

Wow, that is actually a pretty excellent way of doing it o_o I don't have anything but old handheld gaming systems, so I cannot exactly do this. I bet that if you happen to be rather excellent at COD, you can just outright say that you are trans and they'll be in awe of your awesome bravery+skills. I have never played, but I imagine that there is a power dynamic where the best players are quite respected.

Ahaha nooooooo nooottt a good idea. XD They'll make more fun of you. They'd be saying along the lines of- Oh wow! That's why your so good at this game? You got no friends cuz ur trans! You got no life cuz you play all day.

I know this is because that's almost the exact same line they said to me. -__-""

I'm gonna try that. I own black ops 2 on Wii U and there isn't too many mean people. For now I'll just hum a song so my voice gets better.

Haha I always hum on xbox. It's become a bad habbit of mine. I just talk and then when it's quiet I randomly hum because I start feeling like my voice is getting deeper. It's a "tester" thing. It's weird. Lol!

Wow Chibi you are wayyyyy braver than I.. I did something kinda like that by using ventrilo in World of Warcraft and SWTOR with my guilds and even then I always have been decent with doing funny voices for fun so developing my female voice wasn't too bad. But practicing via call of duty, that would have been totally confidence busting for me when I was just starting out some of those people are soooo brutally vicious!

But good for you none the less! Unfortunately my Xbox live name was one I selected before I was out of the closet with most of my rl friends, so.. It's still pretty masculine and would just beg people on XBL to assault me with annoying questions. lol. I don't setup a new one because... sadly I don't want to lose my achievements!....

What is ventrilo? O.o. Anywayssss my xbox account is very very very manly. My friend gave it to me. It was Randy0706 <<<Is that not masculine name? LOL! And people would always make fun of me! D; However. I'm actually VERY glad that I started with a boy account. Because with this very masculine name (I'm just makiing up statistics but just so you know) 10% said girlmale(The more offensive term)/trans/whatever offensive name u can think of. 40% said are you a boy or a girl? 50% said OMG OMG OMG IT'S A GIRL LET'S ADD HER/Message her perverted stuff. -__-"" Pervs. Lol! Anyways yup. You get the point. Having a masculine name account is the best to prepare yourself for the outside world. ;P

Masculine Name- Suspicion>Question>Pass. If your voice is good enough to get past suspicion they'll ask whether your a girl or a boy. If it gets even better then that you definately pass! ;P.

This helps alot because I do it every morning (When my voice is all groggy) After so much practice (Thanks to summer break) I don't need to warm up ever! <3

Ventrilo is a voice chat program that tons of people use for playing video games via PC, mainly Massively Multiplayer Online Games. :) So basically like talking with a headset over Xbox live.

Either way, I'm happy that worked for you! :)

I don't think I could do that, People on Xbox are really really Mean, especially on Call of Duty. I don't play it because the people there are mostly Bullies, Pre-Teens, and Cheaters. I would think it would be harder on xbox live because the Kinect and headset adds an almost mechanical sound to your voice completely ruining the effort. Sarah you can always change your Gamertag for 800 Points/ten dollars. I know it's a bit much but so worth it depending on your Gamertag you won't lose your Gamerscore for changing it either.

Yes but it has helped me on phone, in real life, and everything else. I understand that your voice is "mechanical sounding" But somehow for example. My bff and me were at Starbucks and I was talking like a guy. Suddenly my friend calls me and I did a girl voice in a second. And my friend... was absolutely... AMAZED. Besides it helps because people would tell you dude why are you trying to sound like a girl? Or wow u sound like Mickey Mouse (My friend attempted to do this and I taught him) And now he sounds like a perfect girl. Except 13. Lol. But still. And now he can do it in real life too. So I mean it still helps you with the pitch and everything. But like ya. Your choice but in my opinion it helped me learn how to switch in seconds.

I get that quite a bit when I play Rock Band on XBL. My in-game character is pretty much me with better boobs, and after talking about songs to play, and I get the usual "Girl on drums? This is going to suck!" Of course, that usually isn't the way it goes :D

On the flipside, my WoW guild didn't know I was male (pre-transition, and they were the first people I came out to...been in it for 7 years now) until I started talking on Vent (it went from "Holy crap, Sturm's a dude!" to "Figured there was something behind all that!" when I came out). So at least typing was more than girly enough to pass as female rather than the typical "guy who would rather stare at a hot Night Elf chick's tush"...I chalk that up to my first serious on-line experiences being with the girls from work on AIM group chats when I was in high school.

Semi-Related story xD

In Halo Reach it would open up mic to your enemy team if they were close to you (I noticed this because heard people working in teams to kill me)

So instead of talking in my normal voice, I'd use that very cliche and flamboyant gay male type of voice. You should hear the way some of these kids get mad xD

But yeah I'd never take people on Xbox Live seriously. Most of them are little kids trying to prove how cool and manly they are, or older guys trying to prove how alone they aren't.

Of course you find some really cool people sometimes! But for the most part I could never deal with the hate and un-necessary insults so I just mute everyone when I do play.

Ahaha I never played Halo before but maybe I will. I think you should stop muting people and try sounding like what you really are. XD. People will help you just for the fun of it! At least you know they're going to be honest.

I don't engage in online gaming, but I would advise that one should employ caution at all times. Kelly, if you feel safer muting people and not displaying your voice, I think that is wise.

Be safe and always be aware.

I mute whether Im trying to make myself femme or not :D

Its generally wise for most people. On the rare occasion I play games, I don't want to deal with some cocky 13 year old whos only skill is infact, Call of Duty xD

I do commend Chibi for two reasons.

If she doesn't pass the voice test: Most prolly wont be nice.

If she does. Most prolly won't be nice.

I've talked to female gamers on rare occasions, and they either get insulted with things like "Get in the kitchen -fill in with your imagination horri-word-" or they actually get sexually harassed.

It's kinda amusing actually when they harass me. I don't get mad very easily and I built an immunity to their sexist jokes. But what makes it even more fun is when the older and more mature guys starts defending me by yelling and dissing the younger kids. ANYWAYS I even gave a couple of them my account just because I don't want to waste my time leveling up. They didn't even seem to mind helping me. And some were nice to share their Hulu and Netflix account and they don't even ask for pictures or anything creeperish in return. In my opinion gaining experience, friends, kinda learning how the guy mind works, and getting free movie accounts is so worth the kiddish sexual harassments. <3

I was thinking in particular of BLM, who years ago had a 'What We Believe' section that sounded like they were at war with the nuclear family.   I tried to find it. Nope.  Of interest https://www.politifact.com/article/2020/aug/28/ask-politifact-does-black-lives-matter-aim-destroy/   My time is limited and I will try to answer as I can.
    • Ivy
Well, I suppose it is possible that they don't actually plan on doing what they say.  I'm not too sure I want to take that chance.  But I kinda expect to find out.  Yet, perhaps you're right and it's all just talk.  And anyway, my state GOP is giving me enough to worry about anyway. I remember a time when being "woke" just meant you were paying attention.  Now it means you are the antichrist. I just don't want the government "protecting" me from my personal "delusions."
    • MaeBe
      1.  I think there are some legitimate concern.   2. Thoroughly discussing this will consume many threads.   3. I disagree partially with @MaeBe but there is partial agreement.   4. The context includes what is happening in society that the authors are observing.  It is not an isolated document.   The observation is through a certain lens, because people do things differently doesn't mean they're doing it wrong. Honestly, a lot of the conservative rhetoric is morphing desires of people to be treated with respect and social equity to be tantamount to the absolution of the family, heterosexuality, etc. Also, being quiet and trying to blend in doesn't change anything. Show me a social change that benefits a minority or marginalized group that didn't need to be loud.   5. Trump, if elected, is as likely to spend his energies going after political opponents as he is to implementing something like this.   Trump will appoint people to do this, like Roger Severino (who was appointed before, who has a record of anti-LGBTQ+ actions), he need not do anything beyond this. His people are ready to push this agenda forward. While the conservative right rails about bureaucracy, they intend to weaponize it. There is no question. They don't want to simplify government, they simply want to fire everyone and bring in conservative "warriors" (their rhetoric). Does America survive 4 year cycles of purge/cronyism?   6. I reject critical theory, which is based on Marxism.  Marxism has never worked and never will.  Critical theory has problems which would need time to go into, which I do not have.   OK, but this seems like every other time CRT comes up with conservatives...completely out of the blue. I think it's reference is mostly just to spark outrage from the base. Definitely food thought for a different thread, though.   7. There are groups who have declared war on the nuclear family as problematically patriarchal, and a lot of other terms. They are easy to find on the internet.  This document is reacting to that (see #4 above).   What is the war on the nuclear family? I searched online and couldn't find much other than reasons why people aren't getting married as much or having kids (that wasn't a propaganda from Heritage or opinions pieces from the right that paint with really broad strokes). Easy things to see: the upward mobility and agency of women, the massive cost of rearing children, general negative attitudes about the future, male insecurity, etc. None of this equates to a war on the nuclear family, but I guess if you look at it as "men should be breadwinners and women must get married for financial support and extend the male family line (and to promote "National Greatness") I could see the decline of marriage as a sign of the collapse of a titled system and, if I was a beneficiary of that system or believe that to NOT be tilted, be aggrieved.   8.  Much of this would have to be legislated, and this is a policy documented.  Implementation would  be most likely different, but that does not mean criticism is unwarranted.   "It might be different if you just give it a chance", unlike all the other legislation that's out there targeting LGBTQ+ from the right, these are going to be different? First it will be trans rights, then it will be gay marriage, and then what? Women's suffrage?   I get it, we may have different compasses, but it's not hard to see that there's no place for queer people in the conservative worldview. There seems to be a consistent insistence that "America was and is no longer Great", as if the 1950s were the pinnacle of society, completely ignoring how great America still is and can continue to be--without having to regress society to the low standards of its patriarchal yesteryears.

Cadillac parts are pretty expensive, so repairing them costs more.  But they don't seem to break down more than other makes.  Lots of Lincoln models use Ford cars as a base, so you can get parts that aren't much more expensive.    My family has had good luck with "Panther platform" cars.  Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Marquis, Lincoln Towncar or Continental.  4.6 V8 and 5.0 V8.  Reasonable fuel economy, and fairly durable.  Our county sheriff's office was running Chargers and SUV's for a while, but has gone back to older Crown Victorias for ease of maintenance.  GF rebuilds them here.  But they are getting more scarce, since the newest ones were made in 2011.    1992-1997 years were different than the later years.  1998-2001 they did some changes, and apparently the best years are 2003 to 2011.  Check Craigslist, and also government auctions.  GF has gotten a lot of them at auction, and they can be had in rough-but-running shape for around $1,000.  Ones in great shape can be found in the $5,000+ range.  Good for 200,000 miles without significant rebuilding.  Go through engine and transmission and electrical systems, and they go half a million.    Some Chrysler models are OK.  The 300 mostly has the same engines as the Charger and Challenger, so parts availability is pretty good.  But they tend to get timing issues.  The older Chrysler Sebring convertibles were pretty reliable, sometimes going 200,000 miles without tons of problems, although after that they were pretty much worn out.

I think I have read everything the Southern Baptists have to say on transgender, and it helped convince me they are dead wrong on these issues.  They can be nice people.  I would never join an SBC church.

You come across as a thoughtful, sweet, interesting and pleasant person.    There are parts of this country, and more so the world, where evangelicals experience a great deal of finger wagging.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
It has been an interesting experience being in a marriage in a Christian faith community, yet being intersex/trans.  I stay pretty quiet, and most have kind of accepted that I'm just the strange, harmless exception.  "Oh, that's just Jen.  Jen is...different."  I define success as being a person most folks just overlook.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Well, I live in an area with a lot of Southern Baptists, Evangelicals, etc...  We've experienced our share of finger-wagging, as the "standard interpretation" of Scripture in the USA is that the Bible only approves of "one man, one woman" marriage.  My faith community is mostly accepted here, but that has taken time and effort.  It can be tough at times to continue to engage with culture and the broader population, and avoid the temptation to huddle up behind walls like a cult.    Tolerance only goes so far.  At one point, my husband was asked to run for sheriff.  He declined, partly because an elected official with four wives would have a REALLY tough time.  (Of course, making way less than his current salary wasn't an option either).
    • Abigail Genevieve
My bone structure is far more female than male.  I can't throw like a guy, which has been observed by guys numerous times, and moving like a woman is more natural.  It just is.  I'm not going out of my way to act in a fem. way, as you say, but I am letting go of some of the 'I am not going to move like that because I am a guy' stuff I have defensively developed.  The other breaks through anyway - there were numerous looks from people at work when I would use gestures that are forbidden to men, or say something spontaneously no guy would ever say.   At one point, maybe a year or more ago, I said it was unfair for people to think they were dealing with a man when they were actually dealing with a woman.    Girl here.  'What is a woman' is a topic for another day.

Mom, I’m home!  What’s for lunch?   Leftover pizza .   ok.    Not exactly our conversation but there is truth in the answer.     @KymmieLsorry you are sick. Feel better soon.   Girl mode, boy mode no mode, not us. Nothing functional for either of us.   anyone here have or had a 10 year old (plus or minus) Caddy, Lincoln or Chrysler?  How was it?  Lots of repairs?  Comfortable seats? Anything positive or negative about it?  I need to replace my 2004 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer, it’s eating $100 dollar bills and needs a couple of thousand dollars worth of work and that doesn’t even fix the check engine code.  Obviously, it isn’t worth putting that kind of money into a 20 year old car with a 174 thousand miles.   Willow

I think you mean the worst possible interpretation of 2025 situation.  Keep in mind that there are those who will distort and downright lie about anything coming from conservatives - I have seen it time and time again.  It's one of the reasons I want to read the thing slowly and carefully.  They want you to be very, very afraid.
    • Abigail Genevieve
Here is where the expectation is that the stereotypical evangelical comes in finger wagging, disapproving and condemning.    Not gonna do that.   You have to work these things out.  Transgender issues put a whole different spin on everything and God understands what we are going through. I have enough trouble over here.  :)
