It's Friday Night and I am here alone, had some repairs done on the heating and air conditioning sytem and should be depressed - But I'm not! I got a call this afternoon to photograph a banquet and awards dinner tomorrow night - yeah!

Staying even is so much better than falling behind!

Love ya,

Sally

i went shopping after a long and trying day in class... it sent me right into the waiting arms of a chocolate milkshake, which doesn't do my diet any wonders, but there is something about surrendering to chocolate ice cream and milk, served with whipped cream and a cherry on top... yummy!

but when i was leaving the grocery store, i did two things that made me feel better. first, as i was walking out, i walked past a collection of pink potted flowers, and one of the ones on the floor tipped over. i looked at the flower tipped to the side, and i immediately felt a connection to that flower. i stopped what i was doing, bent down and tended to the little darling. i not only re-scooped the soil and put it high on the shelf, but i opened my bottle of water (the key to successful weight loss, y'know) and gave my little friend a drink. i even cooed and talked to the plant, not caring about the strange looks i was getting.

and second, just before i got to my car, i saw a little toy animal in the parking lot. of course i left my groceries outside of my car as i rushed to the store to make sure that the friendly folks in customer service would know that a child's toy was lost no more. again, a lot of empathy.

on the drive home, i thought about where i am in life. if i was not a loving and caring person, i wouldn't have given that fallen plant a second thought. if i were a rotten or mean spirited person, i would have kicked the toy across the parking lot. but i am neither of those things. i am a women with a heart, and considering how down i have been of late, that simple realization did wonders for me.

if i may ask a favor, i want each and every person reading this to do something kind tomorrow. i challenge you in the name of pink flowers and little animals to do something kind in the world.

Oh, Felicia Anne..What a wonderful challenge...what a honey you are! (back off, Liz)

You've already got Zabrak thinking of a good deed!

That little plant made it because of you and someone got a toy back! Wonderful!

Ok...I'm up to the task..I love to do these things anyway!

I'll be back with something, too!

You are a real sweetie!

Thanks..

I almost forgot to post my good deed.

Theres a elderly man who lives in my apartment building - he lives on the first floor because hes in a wheelchair. He was having a really hard time getting his coat on(it was sunny outside but felt cold.) So I offered to help him put it on and he accepted and thanked me.

I talked to my sister on the phone for about thirty minutes - her husdand was at the store so we had a chance to discuss me. She is trying to get a better handle on what it is all about and try to explain it better to her husband, he knows but is a little uncomfortable talking about it - he's a retired Librarian, he's just uncomfortable talking! (SSHHHHHHhhhh!)

She is talking to me about my stories and the wonderful people here - I have told them about you (without mentioning any names) - she says that she is not sure if she will ever be able to call me Sally (I'm giving her time on that - It will be easier for her when I am presenting female, calling me Sally that is) but when I told her about the couples that are staying together she said, "That's so great - they really love each other!" She's beginning to get it! I have her support and an actual face to face person we are only 3 hours apart and see each other pretty often now. My ex kept us tied up with her family to the exclusion of mine so we are making up for lost time.

This got pretty long - my sister still loves me!

That covers it!

Love ya,

Sally

There's no such thing as "too long" for the good stuff. Its always easier (and usually we need the catharsis) to spend lots of time telling what went wrong. I think its healthy for our consciousness to get to realize the good stuff at least as much. Uh oh, I think I just had the lightbulb moment about why Zabrack started the thread.... lol

I just had a good weekend that's all - and it was the first day in a while that was almost springlike. And I found out that my blood pressure is as low as it has ever been in my life - HRT help with that? Donno - lots going on with me physically! My therapist said I was one of those few that has good, fast results on HRT - wow. And MARDI GRAS season is here!

Lizzy,

Remember you are a lady, a responsible, Mature Matron of Laura's Playground - Do not go out collecting those cheap beads at Mardi Gras - You know how I mean!

Maintain your dignity and keep your top on! :o

New avatar, again. I think this one is my favorite so far. Takes me awhile to find something I like and want to stick with on every forum I go to it seems..

This one is darth revan but in a black and blue drawing. It's artistic and it has my favorite character.

I'm a happy Zabrak. This might be my avatar I'll stay with for good.

Each day I wake up, I slowly feminize a little more. That though alone always cheers me up :)

I think that's a great thing to see.

Made me think this morning "My HRT may be slow but everyday I get a bit more manly on the outside."

I think THE ROCK would agree I'm already manly on the inside. B)B)B)

There's good and bad and then good again.

I'm going to my jazz band rehearsal now - that's so good!

I will have to be away from the forums until after 10PM - that's bad!

I'll have a nice Taco dinner with friends after the rehearsal and then come back to the forums - That is great!

What an evening I have in store,

Love ya,

Sally

Bad thing, a horrible storm came raging through Texas and cut our rehearsal short - trying to get home before the hail. :(

No Tacos!

Drove through some of the hail! :o

Got home and the roof was still on my house! :D

So some good.

Love ya,

Sally

You have all done and experienced such wonderful things, makes me feel like my life is boring

I am focused on feeling me though. Each day since last year even though there are the ups and downs, ((which may be a test of my character) hormones?), I have found that I am feeling more and more like myself. The woman in me is expressing herself stronger and more frequently than before and for longer periods of time. I think the lie is dying. :D

It feeels great, this must be the rewards of being honest with myself. :D

Lotsa luv to all

I have been thinking of this one a bit today since my first response here.  If you check out the relation that Peter had with Jesus and you can see that even Jesus was criticized for being who Jesus was by Peter.  In that relationship which I have come to think was more of a Chosen Family situation than genetic family,  Peter was telling Jesus who Peter thought Jesus should be. Especially when it came to Jesus being killed for what his true identity was.  Transgender is very much an issue of identity and not primarily about sexuality.  Sexuality is the BIG thing with certain religious groups and if you look at it, it is always about pro-creating kids into certain genealogies and making them new church members.

Good evening   @Adrianna Danielle wow 13 years out of a harbor freight tool.  That’s amazing, and lucky.  I read an article recently about how harbor freight does make inexpensive tools. It seems that some percentage of them are expected to fail in some manner.  However they are typically made with the same laborers  parts design as name brand high end tools.  If you get a good one it can last for a long time.

Needed,my 3/4 drive air impact is about to give out.Bought it from Harbor Freight 13 years ago and got my money out of it

Happy anniversary @Willow!   Good luck, @Birdie!   Congratulations on the new gear @Adrianna Danielle!   My family is currently considering a big move. My wife applied for and received an offer for a job in WA. If all things are equal I am down for a change of scenery, but it’s not that simple. Much maths are about to happen…wish me luck! ;)

Or they could live and let live and not clog the courts with games of roulette? To absolve the attempt based on a perceived chance of success is gambling in another guise.   Sure, it could all be marketing to gin up the base, but we see it constantly getting pushed at the local, State, and Federal levels. Don’t we want lawmakers focused on issues of import? Maybe we’re a distraction, but that means we become social targets. If we’re really just a side show game to them, they obviously don’t give a damn what the repercussions are for us; we’re just lambs for slaughter. So why support people or adjacent policies that do that to us? Why believe these jaguars won’t eat your face when they tell you that, if they can, they will?

Thank you so much, hugs Stefi

Manufacturing jobs have increased by nearly 800k since Biden’s inauguration. Deficits and debt are up as well, which water down some of the positive metrics.  Given the fact we were coming out of a pandemic and then into a global economy affected by a Russian aggression and then a war in the Middle East, things wouldn’t be ideal. But we’re not on a gold standard anymore. Government budgets aren’t household budgets. Inflation was up but is coming down, which means that government spending isn’t uncontrolled.  Honest news media? Which news are we referring to? I recommend looking into Ground.news and their blind spot feature. It will show you, regardless of your leanings, what you’re not seeing in your typically consumed news.    MAGA is not about making America great again or otherwise. It’s a marketing cult for populist conservatism, aka the cult of Trump. America being great is not bad or a bad idea, but its choice as the moniker of the campaign is not-so-subtle political marketing. By default, no one wants to argue against the idea, however it creates a dichotomy where “the other side must not want (or is actively trying to destroy) it”. It’s an empty slogan because America was no greater during the Trump years and you can logically argue our global cache was diminished during his term, which was marked by sentiment of the US being a unilateral agitator.

smiles I think I need to help him find a way to simply love others, regardless of identifying with them or understanding their journey..but I thought I recall stories of Jesus being asked which of 10 laws were greatest..n the answer being 1. God us God n have no other gods you worship..asking forgiveness to friends who practice religions with polydieties..but I think catholic say 1 god..n the 2nd rule is almost as important..love each other as I have loved you   maybe if I can focus him on we all believe God wants us to love n help each..maybe he'll forget the footnote he seems to be inserting, unless they are lgbt..then they go to hell...nerd   sorry probably too politically charged..delete if so with my apologies  hugs to all who want them

So, I don't know what this is called, but it's kind of like when you see the boob bridging to the collarbone. I hate it. You can totally see I have a chest. How do I fix it and what is it called?   (I'm wearing an old gc2b binder I got from someone at school that is not my specific sizing, but it's all I can work with)

Nationally, sure.  But where I live, there aren't two large segments.  There's a majority, and a few who just don't fit and probably ought to move out.  I was in a nearby city a few days back, and I saw a billboard for the "Freedom From Religion" foundation.  That's acceptable there.  Here... folks would be making a bonfire.    I don't really see how the different sides CAN get along.  I see what goes on in California, and its like watching news from some alien planet.  It has very little to do with LGBTQ+ issues, really.  I can't live their way, I won't live their way, and I have no desire to compromise at all in that direction.  I'd prefer to be neighbors in separate nations, and I think folks would get along better that way.  I firmly believe the anti-trans stuff wouldn't exist here if we had a new republic of the Center-South area.  Even a micro-state of just my county and a couple others would be fine.    I get the giggles when folks think that Trump is somehow "far right."  Around here, he's a barely-acceptable centrist.  And by the standards of 100 years ago, its true.
    • Ivy
I don't think the Dems have a corner on division.  I do try to kinda keep up with the antics on Fox for 5h1+s and giggles. We have two large segments of the population, living in their own bubbles, with completely opposite views of our society, who never talk to each other, only at each other. People don't even want to get along with each other. We're tearing ourselves apart from the inside, while the rest of the world just sits back and watches.
