Permission To Live: Gender Transition: Two Years Later

Permission to Live is a blog by the spouse of a transwoman. Occasionally her wife also makes guest posts. This is one of those. I'm posting the link because it's an example of what transition ought to be. Haley's GID issues are largely behind her and her life is just normal, which she happily is celebrating. Melissa and Haley have been through a lot together and come out the other side far stronger than they ever realized.

Enjoy. :)

P.S. If you want to simply read something amazing, read Melissa's entire blog, from the first entry to the last. It's an amazing story, not just of being trans but of many other things as well. But set aside a few hours and have a few tissues handy. You're likely to cry a few times along the way. :)

Hi LizMarie,

This is a Wonderful Story, and I am very happy for Haley and her Spouse.

It should be required reading for all of Laura's Playground members who are afraid of Coming-Out and transitioning while in relationships.

This story provides great incentive and encouragement that being transgender and in a relationship CAN be a very happy and rewarding experience.

Thanks for sharing this post.

Hugs,

Carla

Lovely to read Haley and Melissa's story and to know that things have worked out so well I wish more of us could transition without all the social aggravation and rejection. Clearly things have improved over recent years and the world out there is more accepting so here's hoping that their story eventually becomes the norm and we can all progress to living our lives happily in our true gender.

Thank you LizMarie for the link.

I have been blessed to have surviver two years with my relationship not only surviving but closer. My wife now never has to live with me lying and miserable about who i am. Fortunately we have shared so much this was simply another big bump for her while a mountain for me. Her support has been so important despite the fact that i know she would have preferred a male.

Hugs,

Charlize
