In Sense8 Netflix Has Created A Queer Masterpiece

This show is awesome so far. My father-in-law told us about it yesterday when we called him for Father's Day. His words were: "You have to watch this show on Netflix call Sense8. The transgender character (played by Jamie Clayton who is trans in real life) and her girlfriend remind me so much of the two of you! She's a computer wiz just like Sydney and her girlfriend is a awesome just like you!" (Talking to my wife on speakerphone.) We watched the first episode tonight and we both really like it. Lots of queer characters beside Jamie Clayton's character and had an nice sci-fi type of plot.

I just finished the season a couple hours ago! Further, one of the producers is a transgender woman (one of the directors of the Matrix among many other things).

It's awesome to have more trans and queer people in media.

The trailer is certainly compelling. As far as the clip went i was also interested in the short videos of Andrea Bowen who heads NJ Equality. She has a good message and is working towards trans* inclusion and understanding in this state. An excellent spokeswoman.

This show would be perfect if it wasn't for the "Whispers" character. A massive multinational conspiracy is plenty of an antagonist without a supervillain to lead it. I'll definitely keep watching though because the rest of the characters are great. Plus Freema Agyeman is just too awesome and gorgeous for words in every role she plays.

My girlfriend introduced this show to me last year. After one episode, we marathoned the whole series on Netflix in one go. From what I've been told, they do all the filming in one location first, then move to a different location. So all filming in Korea at the same time, then they moved production to another location. I think this was really impressive seeing how actors had to get back into not only the character, but also the character during this specific situation.
