Saw this majestic bird when out riding last weekend surveying the landscape....

Awesome!  It's amazing how much their range has expanded and it's always exciting to see them.

Well, it's really nice here today and I have nothing to complain about.  Stay warm for those in the path of the cold front.  I'm heading out to take care of the animals and then back in to have another cup of cafe.

It’s cold out again. Not my favorite time of year. The wind has been horrible here too and I’m so over winter! I guess it’s not as bad as last year in some ways but I’m not really well equipped for cold weather.

Oh my! Nope. I've decided to stay in south Florida I think. My heat is running now, at like 55 or something. It's freezing for a Florida gal!

Good morning coffee tastes great now, have the head phones on listening to some cool grooves, and starting my day.

Bundle up you folks feeling the effects of the "polar vortex".

Good morning.

Coffee as warming today.  Weatherman said it was the coldest morning so far this year.  Still, nothing like what many of you are being hit with.  Stay warm!

Well on looking out here it's the whitest all over this winter, but not snow at the moment. Having had breakfast, I will look forward to a walk across the fields shortly.

Enjoy your day everyone!

Here comes the sun!☀

It's stopped! The snow has finally stopped.  After 4 1/2 days of snow storming, the sun has finally made an appearance. Still cold, below zero at night yet, but above zero today. It's been brutal, temps below zero and windy with wind chills more than -30°.? An unpleasant consequence of the cold is the sewage fog coming off the ponds at the treatment plant next door where I work. But at least it's been blowing away from me so far. I do prefer this to 90°'s and humid though. And if anyone wants snow, we've got plenty of it now!

Lots of love and a good morning hug,

Timber Wolf?

@Timber Wolf I think you should box it all up and send it back north.  They keep complaining they don't have enough cold and snow.

Went to a "low impact" exercise class this morning.  Might be low impact but definitely not low activity.  Every class I try reminds me of more different muscles that I had forgotten I had.  Of course most of the attendees are ciswomen and they bend differently than I do.

Enjoy the sunshine while you can.  That pesky groundhog is about to wake up from his winter nap.

Oh yeah!  I saw that when I did yoga.  Add that to my muscles that hadn't used in years, equals a big mess!

Low impact is all relative!

My face was frozen this morning just walking to work! I had to thaw out before I could even think about doing anything useful but luckily I was so early it didn’t really matter. The day was busy and went by so fast I almost forgot to leave on time! I was about 10 minutes past my scheduled hours today. It’s been very cold at night and I’m waking up around 3am because of it. Then I go back to sleep until it’s almost 7am with just enough time to get ready for work. I really don’t like the winter weather around here. I’d rather have big fluffy flakes and thick pine trees with a wood burning stove.

Sorry about the cold walk but great about the day flying by that you forgot time.   I hope each day gets better for you.

Good morning, on my 2nd cup after answering a few other posts here. Life is good, the weekend to look forward to, a little rain has made it's way back to us after a stunning period of mid winter dry, cool, and sunny days.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning. Just crawling out of bed. Excited about getting my hair done. Balayage with color overlay is expensive. I kinda got sticker shock lol. My friends laughed and said "being beautifully ain't cheap," First stop is my mom's house for coffee. It's definitely a 3-4 cup morning

Warmer weather today and I’m trying to dry off before going out in the cold. No coffee yet but since I can get it at work and it helps me warm up I’m going to wait. I didn’t participate in the meeting yesterday because I had to fill in for someone who didn’t show up for work but I guess today I will find out what was discussed. One of the other managers who is farther along than I in training had a sort of difficult look on his face right before I left so I’m not sure what that means. I’m guessing that it means some changes are going to happen soon and not all of them are good.

Good morning everyone.  Happy Friday!  Heading to the coffee maker this a.m.  I hope all of you that are experiencing the arctic cold are doing ok.  Had some much needed rain here yesterday.  Also got a wonderful call yesterday.  I've been working on a specialty change within my profession/career and got a job offer yesterday.  I have to talk to the HR rep more today to go over the specifics etc. but I'm really excited.  It's a good feeling going into the weekend.

Josie i hope all the changes are good for you.

Briana, it's great that your work situation is so good.  I have to admit that the VW bus in your icon create a longing as we begin to crawl out of the deep freeze here.

I'm going to get another cuppa and then head out for chores and to start prepping for tapping this weekend.  Our 10 day forcast shows a perfect sequence of freeze thaw cycles that should start the syrup season off with good flows.

Mmmm this cup is lovely!

Hugs,

Thank you!  I've been knocked around professionally a wee bit the last 5 years.  I found a new area of interest for me, did/am doing some additional education, and that's the way I'm going to go.

Charlize, I saw that VW bus and palm tree and I went, "oh yeah...".  As a Mid-westerner living in So Cal I've no complaints about the weather...at all.

Hi, had Nespresso this morning, then off to the YMCA for a stretching class followed by a water aerobics class.  I definitely know I exercised.  Temperature reached 60 today and the weatherman is calling for 60s for the next few days.  From the posts, I presume everyone managed to survive the polar vortex.

Well it is still very cold in the great white north. -15C right now, not including the wind chill. There was not enough coffee, tea, hot cocoa, or any other warm liquids this week to keep me warm. It’s supposed to warm up to a balmy -5C tomorrow.

Have a great night everyone!

Hi all! My first time on the coffee line lol.  I'm not  fan of coffee so pardon me while I sip my Dr Pepper (sip).  Tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 60s F.  We plan to go to a gaming store called Vintage Stock and browse maybe pick up a few things. Then we will have lunch at Hardees a fast food place with amazingly delicious double cheeseburgers called Sliders. Yum!  I am really looking forward to it.  I'm going to deck out in a dress shirt and tie.  I cut my hair last night and love how it looks. I plan to let my hair grow out some but not too much. I am hopeful HRT will make me look like my dad again.  When I was younger I looked like him then I had kids, put on weight and now look like my mom.  I love her but with my dad gone (RIP), I miss him and would love a reminder in the mirror.

happy trans birthday! I can't speak personally on the subject, but I hope hormones bring you the changes you're looking for <3
    • MaeBe
That’s super healthy, to see that something that becomes common has less effect on you and that you are able to decipher these feelings.   Sadly, this trend tends to only deaden good feelings as we tend not to let bad feelings attenuate the same way.   I have noticed less euphoria, but still feel the dysphorias that I have. Sometimes the good sneaks in and reminds me, but often time it’s just me seeing myself in the mirror and being comfortable about what I see when embracing my realized self. I may not get the same buzz I once did, but I don’t feel incongruous when looking at a more “drab” reflection.    Wishing you strength, you are amazing!

Congratulations! and Happy Trans Birthday @LittleSam! That is such a BIG milestone.  I can still remember walking out of my clinic with my first HRT presciption.  I was on Cloud-9.  Wishing you all the best in the start of your new Journey!

maebe thank you I try to be. I thank God for blessings, try to share them, beg forgiveness for my shortcomings n vow to try to do better...2 priests have said no, God doesn't condemn you just for being trans...but apparently evangelicals do   I shall vtry dear thank you
    • MaeBe
Meet him at the being good to others part of Christianity. At the heart of it, there are excellent tenets of the faith. Those that condemn are judging, Jesus would have us be selfless; stone casting and all that. Are you a good person? Are you putting good into the world? If your gender is an issue for God, let God judge. In the mortal realm, let your actions be heard.

and just fi sweeten it..I'm catholic n he hasn't been for years..he's evangelical..whatever that is

Let’s stick to cite-able fact. Most of my posts have been directly in relation to LGBTQ+ rights as it pertains to P2025 and I have drawn direct links between people, their quotes, and their agenda. I have made reference to the cronyism that P2025 would entail as well, by gutting, not cutting, broad swathes of government and replacing it with “conservative warriors” (I can get you the direct quote, but rest assured it’s a quote). All this does is constantly force the cogs to be refitted, not their movement. To say that agencies have directly defied a President is a bit much, the EPA did what Trump told them to do at the direct harm to the environment, the department of agriculture did the same by enacting the administrations forced move to KC which decimated the USDA.      How about Betsy DeVoss for Education? Or Bannon for anything? What about the revolving Chief of Staff position that Trump couldn’t stay filled? Or the Postmaster General, who did much to make the USPS worse?   Let’s not mix politics with racism, sexism, or any other ism. Because Trump made mainly white, male, appointments—many of them not, arguably, people fit for service—or unwilling to commit to term. I can argue this because, again, he’s up for election and will do what he did before (and more of the same, his words).   Please delineate how the selected diversity appointments have negatively affected the US, other than being black, women, or queer? Representation matters and America benefits when its people are inspired and empowered.

When I first started figuring things out, I got a lot more euphoria. Every time a friend would use he/they pronouns for me, I'd get this bubbly feeling, and seeing myself look masculine made me really happy. Dysphoric state felt more normal, so I guess I noticed the pain it caused me less.   Now, it's more just that my pronouns and such things feel natural, and dysphoria is a lot stronger -- I know what's natural, so experiencing the opposite is more jarring than everything. The problem is, most of my natural experiences are from friends, and I rarely get properly gendered by strangers, much less by my family. I've found myself unable to bind in months due to aches, colds,, and not wanting to risk damage.    It partially makes me want to go back to the beginning of my journey, because at least then I got full euphoria. I'm pretty sure it'll be like this until I medically transition, or at the very least get top surgery (you know all those trans dudes online with tiny chests? Not me, unfortunately). It's a bit depressing, but at least I know that, eventually, there's a way out of this.
    • RaineOnYourParade
Major mood, right here ^^^    I've listened to Lumineers to a long time (a major portion of it by osmosis via my mom), so that is almost painfully relatable
    • RaineOnYourParade
As for getting a button-up/formal pants suit, you can try to talk to her more -- Cis women in tuxes have worn tuxes in recent years, after all, (for example, Zendaya) so it can still be a relatively safe topic. For jumpsuits, I'd recommend going with a simple one with a blazer, if you can -- this'll make it look overall more masculine. There's a lot of good brands, but going for one without a lot of extra glitz on it will make it look less feminine under a blazer. I don't know many specific brands though since I usually just get my stuff from chain stores, sorry :<   When it comes to your hair, if you can't cut it, you can look up tutorials on fluffing it up instead. If you can pull it off, it can look a lot shorter and more androgynous instead!
