Do you like American Lit? I personally prefer Russian literature.

Also, best of luck with that! Have you tried playing with pens and little things in your pockets? That always helps me.

I remember American Lit as, "Here are novels by American authors that the school board thinks are important." Many of them were terrible, but it was a required course at my school. It often made me think that if the authors could, they'd come back and slap the stupid out of my teacher's mouth. No author wants people to sit in a circle and talk about what their work "really meant."

I don't have a lot of positive academic memories from High School.

Hugs!

@Belle my apple MacBook Air is old enough that I can't update anymore.  Could I have some sort of site blocker?  I suppose that is possible although I haven't changed anything since long ago when I had no problems.  I guess I'll just deal with it for now.

thanks

Ok so I am a genius!!!!  I haven’t been able to drink coffee Since Sunday because it makes me wicked nauseous taking the meds I need to take for my “lump” issue.  Which I naturally have been taking in the morning.
Duh.  What a dumb arse.
I can take it at night and by morning I should be good to go!
It took me half a week to figure this out.  Lol

I'm a dirty blonde.

Had a interesting early morning. Got up quarter to 7. jumped in the shower. Heard the wife leavefor work. Finish my shower come down go to get on the computer. The wife comes back in. Her car died. almost in the middle of the parking lot. She was able to get it moved some. I throw on a pair of pants, my socks, shoes and jacket. I go out to see what I can do. I got it started and let it run. The wife took one of our other cars.

OH, by the way the temp when I was doing all this, With wet hair no less. Was -5.

Both my appointments went good. My speech is coming along good. My therapist session went good as well.

Are you going to have to do it that often for the rest of your life?

Just wondering, possible future reference. LOL

Chilly one this AM in Vermont at -16*F but the car still started so I was happy about that.

Been having a terrible time sleeping this week.  No idea why either.  I sleep an hour or so super hard then I am awake the rest of the night.  Not tossing and turning but fully awake.  Irritated I am fully awake too.  LOL

So I started taking my antibiotics for the lump issue in the evening so I can enjoy my coffee in the moorings.  Its may have something to do with it not sure but its certainly not a side effect to this medicine.

SOOOO I am having my first travel mug full this morning and leaving early to see my therapist later.   It should not be that bad a day.   I am planning to attend as Shawna Leigh again.

Slept poorly.

Further hampered by watching footage of the debate. Politics. Meh.

Still haven't started coffee yet.

Wish everyone a happy day!

Just woke up, haven't even gotten out of bed yet, but it looks to be a good day. It's 12°F, and the temp is supposed to hit several degrees above freezing. With luck, I'll be able to get out of the house with my 10-month old. We have been cooped up for too long!

Good morning,

Had a Nescafé this morning.  I think I prefer my regular dark roast, but no sense making a pot for one.

one of the few things my wife is happy about is that I’m no longer grumpy all the time. Last of the remodeling is getting closer.  I hope to be done before the first of March.  Bathroom floor is underway.

Stay warm everyone, it’s even cold for here.

That is good to hear.  I've never smoked (never even tried it).so I hear it is extremely difficult to quit.  I applaud anyone who can beat an addiction like smoking.

I'm also very allergic to cigarette smoke... how have you managed to co-habitate? Cigarette smoke on clothes will set my asthma off. I'm imagining a nightmare scenario for you... I'm only hoping your symptoms aren't as severe as mine.

Yeah, quitting is like fighting a bear - it just seems so much easier to give up the fight and let the bear win.  Then, after you have quit and feel like you're done for good, stress will come and whisper, "Wouldn't a smoke be just the thing right now?"  Or you'll walk past a smoker and the scent will trigger a nostalgic feeling instead of reminding you how disgusting it smells. I had a friend who would always complain about how his clothes smelled after hanging out at my house, and I was always dismissive of the notion until I quit.  Then I would visit a smoker and come home complaining about the stench my clothes had acquired.

It's like you can stop smoking, but you can never truly go back to being a non-smoker.

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷

@Abigail Genevieve, that is not an appropriate question, IMO.  This isn't the Army/McCarthy hearings.   Carolyn Marie

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?
