There's a live webcam where you can see it every day.  Hall's Harbour webcam.  High tide is about an hour from now.  Although you might not be able to tell because the wharf is wet from snow and rain, the picnic table in the centre foreground will be standing in a couple of inches of sea water at 1:42 pm Eastern Time today.  Check it again six hours later, and the boats will be high and dry on the harbour floor.

The harbour floor is at the half-tide level, so at low tide, the water is as far below the harbour floor as the dock is above it.  In other words, the picture only shows you half the actual tide range.

I've forgotten, you're on the Fundy side, right?

Those are some monster tides!

Nearby Cobscook Bay has similar tidal range, but lacks the massed tidal bore.

Beautiful day today. had my appointments, My speech was from her office but my counselor was from home. My speech therapist was saying the VA is having everybody who is not essential see their patients from home.

We did head to the hills and try and find an open trail but all are closed to prevent damage.

Shawna you just need remote start. I have one in my Lincoln and one in my Explorer. If it is cold and/or snowy I usually take one of the two. I plan on putting one in my 2000 Crown Vic hopefully this summer.

Yes I know. I do in my GMC pickup.
this is a little Toyota Matrix company care.  Bare bones.  But cheap for me.  Like free.  Only better.  Lol

except for the snow wiping part.

I tried to convince my work that I needed remote start on my work truck and they laughed at me. They said I’m a wuss but all the supervisor trucks have remote start lol

Good morning

We've had patches of weird hail-like snow last 2 days. Today cloudy but supposed to make 40s F later.

Plans include workbook from a former counselor, guitar, and being the opposite of depressed.

I might skip checking the news.

Skipping the news is a great plan!

Along the way I got offered a deal on a classical guitar - La Patrie Presentation all rosewood with spruce top. I had to bite. The sound is amazing! It rings like a bell and the sustain seems to vibrate way up inside your head like a harp.

Otherwise I have two drawings to complete for a small exhibition/fundraiser for the Eureka Springs School of the Arts. Exciting day, if you like sitting and drawing for hours on end!

Cold here in Northern NJ this morning, but the sun is shining brightly and the wind has finally died down.  It's supposed to warm up to the mid 50's today, so a run later this afternoon may be in order.  Enjoying a nice cup of coffee and catching up on the latest patter here in the forums.

Happy Saturday to all,

Sally

Its still freakin' snowing here in VT.  I swear we are going to go from winter to fall and back to winter.

I'm over the snow.

To day it's going to be 62, tomorrow chance of rain/snow mix. Go figure! Been lounging around in my robe all morning, guess I'd better get dressed but being stuck at home with no place to go makes it easy not to get dressed.

Hugs to all from my fortress in Linclon,

Brandi

Sunny, Windy and Cool today and tomorrow.  But tomorrow late afternoon through Monday morning is expected to be stormy and rain.  At least no snow.  I will have to add lines and dock dock bumpers to add more protection  for my sailboat tomorrow.  I just got done fixing the hull from the damage created by the last bad storm.  I don't need more.

@KathyLauren The video of HallsHarbor is interesting.  The fact that the boats can sit on the bottom without either tilting over or damaging the keel is amazing.

Stay safe and healthy.

The bottom is mud, and the boats settle down gently, so there is no damage to the keel.  But tying up so that there is enough slack in the ropes to accommodate the 6.5 metres of tide in the harbour, while keeping it tight enough to neither drift nor tilt over, is quite an art.  Not for amateurs.  One side of the wharf has vertical metal rods that the boat captains can tie up to, so the mooring ropes can slide up and down with the tides.

I can’t argue that!

Well it makes just about every morning now that I’ve woke minutes before my normal week day alarm and started getting all bent out of shape over needing to get up only to realize it’s the weekend.
oh thank goodness!!!

So I’m still under my covers. Snug and warm but still not sleeping.  Lol

 Coffee is still hours away.

Have a blessed day!

You can keep that over there lol. My Cherry tree is starting to look beautiful with it's blossom and the vegetables are coming along well. Not a good time for a cold snap.

Happy Easter! Take care everyone.

Good morning! Thought I would try this due to I’m single and have no one to say good morning to!  I’m Tessa and it’s 6:28 AM in Nebraska. I’m in my bed waiting for sunrise. Today starts my one week vacation and I really need it. I’m working from home for a bank. I work in the collections department. We’re giving out loans. So many sad stories. ?

So I write romance stories on an App called Chapters and submit them for people to read, I journal currently on my 22 journal, see my kids on Tuesdays and every other weekend, love Marilyn Monroe movies, I post inspirational Tic Toc’s on Tic Toc, colored over 300 grown up coloring pages, I’m a photographer and have over 3000 pics in my camera (not a famous one though), I love to hear about people’s passions!

I mostly live in a woman’s mind. I love deeply, love to be cuddled and told I’m beautiful (I don’t think I am) I dream of a special someone holding me in their arms and looking into my eyes and telling me I’m important to them. (I rarely feel this way) I do dress in mainly men’s clothes but I wear both panties and men’s underwear. It all depends on how I feel. (Being open here)

To love someone is to be able to let that person be who they are. That means letting them express their inward emotions and for you to validate those emotions and not discard them. My ex wife told me I acted like a woman in our relationship because I wanted the affection all the time. Now being alone I have learned I have to give myself love and not push away my feelings. Self love comes in many different forms. There’s no one way right for everyone. For me (This might be crazy) but it’s pretending I have someone with me and they hold me and listen to me. I’ve never just been held and loved. My ex pushed me away.

I know I have a great love to give to someone! They will have to understand who Tessa is though. I can’t just not be me. I was that for years. I may be male but inside I’m screaming female. I love to look pretty. I do my nails and pick out a cute outfit. Mainly men’s clothes but I make it look good.

I miss human touch. I miss someone saying I love you. I miss being held at night. (I’ve never experienced this) I miss someone giving me a back rub. I’m sorry....(has to cry)

that’s all folks

love Tessa?‍?

Woke up and looked out my window.  Sure enough, the snow is making its predicted comeback.  I am so ready for warmth that is steady, but now I am pouty 'cuz the sky is so cloudy...

Welcome, @Tessa! It is always nice to see something new around here!

Emily, Not unheard of in this area. In 84 on my way to Ellsworth AFB my first time. It was just after a major blizzard. 36" in 37 hrs. and this was mid May. I was seeing the remnants of the drifts under the over passes.

Well, woke to snow, yea. still lightly coming down. about 2" on the ground as of now. Forecast for it to last until tomorrow.

Have a good Easter. Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Hugs

I'm volunteering both days of our Pride Festival (signing other volunteers in, lol).    Taking my two younger kids (oldest is way too cool for school, lol) to a family friendly pride festival, and then turning them loose at the city wide event while I listen to music. They're old enough to experiment with independence and the festival is in a controlled enough space they can feel like they're getting away from me without being *that* far away. My middle is newly out as LGBTQ+ and has been practicing their makeup look for a couple weeks already (age 14) <3

Well today was mostly sleeping so far. I woke up at around 0600 and made sure my oldest was ready for school. I came back down on the computer chair and next thing I knew it was 0953. I went through speech therapy for myself. Next thing I realize it's 1300 and apparently went to sleep again. I knew I slept last night but whew apparently not enough.

Jeans, grey henley, heathered grey blazer with elbow patches, split sole jazz sneakers. Blazer is one of my favorite wardrobe pieces and it's warm but super windy today so perfect sort of day for it

Fragile is my word of the day. More intense dysphoria than my baseline normal, feeling emotionally on edge. Also ignoring a piece of therapy homework that's actually going to be beautiful when it's done (I'm doing an art piece exploring emotions around the name I was given at birth).

Got accosted in a grocery store parking lot this morning by someone out on a petition drive (in my state, citizens can gather petition signatures to advance ballot measures; I'm always a little cautious about encountering petition drives "in the wild" because unless it's an issue that's been talked about *a lot* it can also be used as a way to just gather voter information).   ANYWAY, the person with the clipboard is presumable cis male and aggressive and I'm AFAB, genderfluid, dressed pretty androgenously this morning and this guy hollars across the parking lot asking "young lady" if I'm a registered voter.   Informed him I'm neither young nor a lady (guy was at least a decade younger than me, maybe more) and wasn't interested in the petition anyway.   "Oh, so I guess you're just offended then."   "YEP!"

I also struggle with being short (5'2) and everyone around me is taller especially my guy friends. And to my guy friend I pass with them and they're cool with me being trans but I often don't feel man enough and I'ts really hard dealing with the feeling of not being enough, and my mom often makes it seem as if I'm hopping on a trend which isn't true. I wear masculine clothes and sometimes I pass well but a lot of times I don't and that's really a struggle. Some people say I act masculine and others say the opposite, I try to pass but some times it's really hard especially with my mom because she uses my birth name me and uses she her pronouns for me and doesn't let anyone use anything else because they say they're being respectful to her even though she's not there. I remember being in an art group and they use my name Felix and my mom got flaming mad and told me and the people in charge that if they called me Felix again she would revoke my privilege to go there and I'd never go again. So it's often tough to pass all the time.
    • Ashley0616
WOW! Did she give a reason at least? It's not like it takes up that much space.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Yeah, it would be awesome to have something new, and it would fit the space pretty well.  We have kitchen counters big enough to process whole deer, goats, large amounts of vegetables, etc.   Unfortunately for me, I couldn't even convince our "den queen" to let me have counter space in our downstairs kitchenette for a Keurig.  🙄

I think the biggest mental block to acceptance is the language that keeps us othered and on the fringes, rather than woven deeply into society. But I also think that's changing fairly rapidly. My youngest is well into their young adult genre novels phase and I'm impressed (and kind of amazed) at how many of their mainstream traditionally published novels have LGBTQ+ themes woven in. That child is 12, and I suspect that as the kids who are in middle school along with them grow up, they're just going to expect and demand better than we've done as their parents. They've seen it in the fiction they read and have every expectation that it will be part of the life they live.
    • Ashley0616
Heck they took off three grand on that one. That is massive! Then again your nest isn't small either so I guess would definitely come in handy.

Congrats on T <3   The height problem I think is an issue for a lot of trans guys, unfortunately. I know more tall cis women than short cis men, so it especially stands out to me whenever I'm in a room. I'm hoping for your voice to drop soon, good luck! (I've heard it feels a little bit like a cold? If that's true, hope it'll feel better quickly and that it's worth it!)
