Up early.  230am and just couldn’t get back to sleep as my Mind is still buzzing from yesterday’s events. I posted about it in another thread as to not junk up this one with my drivel.
Just now getting my first mug of coffee in me then a quick shower.  Gotta keep the wound clean.
More planning, calling, and receiving of guests who hopefully will be buying more of Shawns hobby toys.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good morning! Supposed to get up to 90 today so nice and warm. I only have a 4 day week I took Friday and Saturday off because my wife is having a procedure. I had a talk with my wife last night and I told her that if things work out this weekend I want to come out to brother in law and the people that live close to me. The physical changes haven’t started yet, but mentally I’m tired of presenting male in my personal life. She just told me you do you!

My bike is a 2015 Harley Street Glide.

That's such a sweet bike Kymmie. I had a 2007 RK that I had to sell after my divorce. I sold it for $6k. I still shed a tear over that one.

Yesterday changed Shawna's and my lives forever. What once seemed hypothetical is now very very real! We both posted about it!

Have a good day!

That is a nice bike I always wanted an ultra. I had a 2006 road king but sold it for a new welder on my service truck at the time and a 50 Plymouth business coupe that I need to restore. In all honesty after working 6-7 days a week for so long I’m pretty much burnt out and by the time I get home th last thing I want to touch is a wrench. Maybe eventually I will get back to it.

Sparky The Fire Dog, purchased and rides a 2009 Ultra-Classic Firefighter Edition she has 62,248 miles on her right now, and this will be the first year I haul her to Sturgis, SD for the 80th Bike Rally. Two wheeled therapy has been one of my saving graces.

Hi, I had a 2007 Ultra.  Rode it from the top of Virginia to Biketoberfest in Daytona and home again.  1000 miles each way.  I loved that bike such a smooth comfortable ride.

I had to sell it after I tore up both my shoulders.  The surgery left me with little arm strength.  They had to cut one of my biceps tendons.

@ShawnaLeigh congratulations on the job. I hope that gets you to @Patti Anne .

I expect my wife is getting quizzed by her sister in law this morning.  They are walking the beach together this morning.  I’m curious as to what she wants to know about me since they were the first people I’ve told outside of our more immediate family and medical professionals.

Mindy, two wheeled therapy has worked wonders for me. We used go up to Sturgis yearly now it is just about every other year. We lived in Rapid city so that was a given. but at that time no bike. Been to the 50th and 75th so the 80th is a given. We need to meet and have a drink together.

Maybe get the other folks on here that ride, and have an annual TPTG ride.

Yesterday was one of those Mondays. Sorry Shawna and Patti Anne. So I was texting my oldest a couple questions on Hot Wheels (we are both amateur collectors) I wind up pocket dialing him. ( kinda like butt dialing) SO I talked with him for about 3 minutes. All good, no animosity from him.

After that I'm feeling pretty good. maybe 45-60 min later. My youngest comes into the store all bent out of shape. He proceeds to tell me he answered a call from the VA about my wig. He is saying this is the last straw,Etc. I get him calmed down some get the parts he needs for his project car.

Once I get home, He had chilaxed. He asked me if this was before our conversation last week. I said yes. which it was. crisis averted. He must not have told my wife because no flack from her.

Cooler today, upper 70s vs 84.

Have a great day all.

Hugs

This would be a cool event to have a meet and greet for TPTG however because of all the people coming to the Black Hills for Bike Week hotels are full and cost is at a premium. My wife and I have been going up since 2009 skipping one year for a death in the family, and she let me go one time by myself because she wanted to attend a Lucille Ball comedy convention. We normally ride with a group called "The Borrachos" its a loosely organized motorcycle group "NOT A CLUB" because the 1% ers get really mad if you call yourself a Club. It's more like the Wild Hogs kind of group.

Wow, bringing the family along as we quietly transition is really tricky. I'm glad you were able to work it out this time. I'm probably coming out to my wife and daughter this weekend. Since we're empty nesters, I would like to just come out to my wife for maybe a year before telling anyone else in the family, but my wife and daughter are so close and talk about everything. I think it would be good for their relationship to vent about my Transition. Of all my family members who I think will support me, my daughter is number one because of her activity already established in the LGBTQ community.

Best wishes,

Mindy???

Shawna, I've always been the class clown. This is part of the reason my being in therapy has caught my wife off guard, because outwardly I'm the positive motivator with a quick response to lighten the mood or offer OldFolkAdvice. I have a whole string of #OldGuyAdvice quotes that I share with anyone who will listen or can't to get away. Since I'm coming out of the closet this week I'm going to change Guy to Folk as it is my wife's idea of non gender specific referencing Old People. My emotions have been all over the place in the last three weeks and my wife never knew or suspected that I was the Clown hiding in the darkness of fear and nightmares. Everyone here, my therapist, and my wife are really helping me deal with my ghosts, and transgender feelings.

I truly love every person I've come in contact with here,

I had a CB450K I bought in 1973. Had a lot of fun riding that bike, you know wind in your hair and bugs in your teeth, but in late ‘74 I joined a road band and needed a van to carry my kit and some place to sleep while on the road. Then came marriage and a baby carriage and a full time job and...well you get picture.

Oh, I know about the cost of Sturgis. That is  why we mostly just fo a one day up and back. However I makes for a long hard day. Plus, this girl is getting  older and can't handle it much longer.

I know about the motorcycle world. I was at one time an associate  member of Combat Veterans  mc.

Sitting down working while having my coffee and leftover supreme Sicilian pizza... I wish my job was more therapeutic. Giving people their class schedules you think, wouldn't be so bad, but people are always surprising. Never a dull moment, if not for mind numbing experience of repeating yourself like a broken record every incoming season. At least this time I don't have to be tormented in an office, now I just get tormented long distance through my email and phone, while eating my pizza and having my cup of joe, yay. And I can do it all while packing, so many benefits, if only the stress wasn't the same.

KymmieL, first let me say Thank You for your service. I ride with the Indiana Patriot Guard.

Indy to The Buffalo Chip is 1,150 miles one way. We rode that for 9 years, I have the patches. This girl is getting up there in years as well and that's why we're hauling the bike and pulling a camper this year.

Ms Maddie, you should see me riding in a parade in full Sparky The Dog, the kids love it but it takes a lot of work. Visibility is so restricted that you could never do it without a parade escort blocking intersection.

Best wishes you two,

Mindy, were you voted class clown when you graduated. I never knew who was voted what in my class. For all I know I could have been voted most likely to fail. or even coolest car. (don't know if there was voting for that one.

At least today I am not balling my eyes out, yet. My brain is going light speed. one minute then 1/2 inch a day the next. With all that is happening.

Forecast for 76 today. which was the same forecast for yesterday, but it was a high of 83. Just waiting for the coffee to warm up. The coffee pot usually times out before I get up.

closing today, half day tomorrow. So soon as I get off I'm heading over to the VA to get my blocker shot. Maybe new shoes for the wagon. (the current tires are dated 07)

Have a great day everyone. stay safe and healthy.

Happy Morning all.

My life keeps moving forward one day at a time.  Days are moving fast for me now.

The surgery pain is nearly gone but I am still keeping it at a slow crawl and laying low.   I still feel I have a ton to do to be ready for my move on the 22nd and being in recovery mode is driving me "nuts".  Pun intended.

Stuff from Shawn's hobbies are finally starting to sell giving @Patti Anne and myself a nice comfortable cushion for our travels and a couple month of stress free bills.  MY new company is sending me a $1500 check to assist in relocation which is sweet!

I'm putting in my 2 week notice today to my current job with Patti help to make sure everything reads well and professionally written.  TY honey!

I always feel crumby putting in a notice like I am letting everyone down and adding stress and burden to them.  But life happens and folks move on.  It still feels crumby.

Biggest news is Angela my ex wife and still roommate has offered to let Patti and I stay here for a couple days before we leave for good.  How extremely kind and generous of this women to be this way with me as her ex husband, now trans girlfriend and seeing me with my new GF Patti fully accepting her and the situation in her home.  She is an amazing women.

I look forward to my new adventures with Patti at my side but the sadness of what I am leaving behind is starting to set in too.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I've got to get started doing what I can.

happy trans birthday! I can't speak personally on the subject, but I hope hormones bring you the changes you're looking for <3
    • MaeBe
That’s super healthy, to see that something that becomes common has less effect on you and that you are able to decipher these feelings.   Sadly, this trend tends to only deaden good feelings as we tend not to let bad feelings attenuate the same way.   I have noticed less euphoria, but still feel the dysphorias that I have. Sometimes the good sneaks in and reminds me, but often time it’s just me seeing myself in the mirror and being comfortable about what I see when embracing my realized self. I may not get the same buzz I once did, but I don’t feel incongruous when looking at a more “drab” reflection.    Wishing you strength, you are amazing!

Congratulations! and Happy Trans Birthday @LittleSam! That is such a BIG milestone.  I can still remember walking out of my clinic with my first HRT presciption.  I was on Cloud-9.  Wishing you all the best in the start of your new Journey!

maebe thank you I try to be. I thank God for blessings, try to share them, beg forgiveness for my shortcomings n vow to try to do better...2 priests have said no, God doesn't condemn you just for being trans...but apparently evangelicals do   I shall vtry dear thank you
    • MaeBe
Meet him at the being good to others part of Christianity. At the heart of it, there are excellent tenets of the faith. Those that condemn are judging, Jesus would have us be selfless; stone casting and all that. Are you a good person? Are you putting good into the world? If your gender is an issue for God, let God judge. In the mortal realm, let your actions be heard.

and just fi sweeten it..I'm catholic n he hasn't been for years..he's evangelical..whatever that is

Let’s stick to cite-able fact. Most of my posts have been directly in relation to LGBTQ+ rights as it pertains to P2025 and I have drawn direct links between people, their quotes, and their agenda. I have made reference to the cronyism that P2025 would entail as well, by gutting, not cutting, broad swathes of government and replacing it with “conservative warriors” (I can get you the direct quote, but rest assured it’s a quote). All this does is constantly force the cogs to be refitted, not their movement. To say that agencies have directly defied a President is a bit much, the EPA did what Trump told them to do at the direct harm to the environment, the department of agriculture did the same by enacting the administrations forced move to KC which decimated the USDA.      How about Betsy DeVoss for Education? Or Bannon for anything? What about the revolving Chief of Staff position that Trump couldn’t stay filled? Or the Postmaster General, who did much to make the USPS worse?   Let’s not mix politics with racism, sexism, or any other ism. Because Trump made mainly white, male, appointments—many of them not, arguably, people fit for service—or unwilling to commit to term. I can argue this because, again, he’s up for election and will do what he did before (and more of the same, his words).   Please delineate how the selected diversity appointments have negatively affected the US, other than being black, women, or queer? Representation matters and America benefits when its people are inspired and empowered.

When I first started figuring things out, I got a lot more euphoria. Every time a friend would use he/they pronouns for me, I'd get this bubbly feeling, and seeing myself look masculine made me really happy. Dysphoric state felt more normal, so I guess I noticed the pain it caused me less.   Now, it's more just that my pronouns and such things feel natural, and dysphoria is a lot stronger -- I know what's natural, so experiencing the opposite is more jarring than everything. The problem is, most of my natural experiences are from friends, and I rarely get properly gendered by strangers, much less by my family. I've found myself unable to bind in months due to aches, colds,, and not wanting to risk damage.    It partially makes me want to go back to the beginning of my journey, because at least then I got full euphoria. I'm pretty sure it'll be like this until I medically transition, or at the very least get top surgery (you know all those trans dudes online with tiny chests? Not me, unfortunately). It's a bit depressing, but at least I know that, eventually, there's a way out of this.
    • RaineOnYourParade
Major mood, right here ^^^    I've listened to Lumineers to a long time (a major portion of it by osmosis via my mom), so that is almost painfully relatable
    • RaineOnYourParade
As for getting a button-up/formal pants suit, you can try to talk to her more -- Cis women in tuxes have worn tuxes in recent years, after all, (for example, Zendaya) so it can still be a relatively safe topic. For jumpsuits, I'd recommend going with a simple one with a blazer, if you can -- this'll make it look overall more masculine. There's a lot of good brands, but going for one without a lot of extra glitz on it will make it look less feminine under a blazer. I don't know many specific brands though since I usually just get my stuff from chain stores, sorry :<   When it comes to your hair, if you can't cut it, you can look up tutorials on fluffing it up instead. If you can pull it off, it can look a lot shorter and more androgynous instead!
    • RaineOnYourParade
As far as I'm aware, he wasn't -- he just sometimes wore skirts, which was why it was a question in the first place.   In my opinion, part of that is because of the way press spares attention on issues like that. As a bit of a true crime nut and what I see: Child predator cases' (and cases of a sexual nature in general) press focus on those with an AMAB perpetrator generally, and very rarely are AFAB perpetrators given much press time or even getting tried due to a whole bunch of issues I'm not gonna get into. Because of this, when you see these types of cases and a boy is the victim, it's almost always a queer person who is the one who committed a crime that gets press. Therefore, with the amount of cases seen with this type of perpetrator (and due to the fact "99% of queer people are not sexual criminals" doesn't attract eyes), the human brain can kind of naturally makes an association with it. It's not right, but it's also a fault I think falls partially on the media.   That's all my opinion, though!   This is extra confusing to me, as a feminine man is usually viewed as gay. If someone is refusing the acknowledge the existence of trans people, then gay would be the societal connection that comes after, I think. So, that sorta implies that trans women wouldn't be interested in women in the first place by those assumptions? Of course, trans lesbians exist (most trans women I know like women, actually), but it's a little ridiculous to me that people will deny trans people's existence, call all feminine AMAB people gay, and say that trans people are looking to peep all in the same breath.   Wow, this was a lot longer of a response than I was planning to write--

For one thing, the practice of putting into office wholly unqualified people simply because of racial, sexual or national characteristics.  It is no accident that Karine is a Haitian immigrant, Black and lesbian.  Kamala Harris is a Black female. Pete Buttigieg is gay.  Often you find that Biden explicitly stated that this is why he hired them, not because of competence, but because they checked so many boxes on his little list.  It makes a mockery of people and is a disservice to the US.
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am not sure why people are in favor of unaccountable agencies with bloated budgets and wasteful spending.
