Good morning All. Coffees on.

Good morning, everyone!! Into my second cup of coffee - went to be early last night and woke up at 1:30, 3, and then again at 4 so I gave up and got out of bed. Dogs have been walked and fed so I'm ready to catch up on the forum and then read the local paper.

My wife and I had a date day yesterday - we've been so busy that we got out of the habit and decided it was time to re-start that time for just us. We took a road trip to some gardens we've wanted to visit, did some shopping in the morning, had a wonderful lunch and then headed home in time to go to church. Then we enjoyed a light dinner and a few drinks....and both ended up falling asleep on the couch watching a program we'd recorded. A fun day with just the two of us.

Today I think I'll vacuum he pool and spend some time outside getting some sun to warm up these old bones.

Be safe and find the goodness in this beautiful day!!!

Kinda slept in.  Then got up and made some coffee and baked the bread that had been working off overnight.  Fed the ground birds and filled feeder.  Pretty quiet morning here so far.

Having a quiet morning.  Normally I go to Sunday service with my family, but GF isn't feeling well.  I stayed home so I could be next to her. I'm a firm believer that physical affection helps with illness.

My pumpkin spice came in today so of course had to open it up and had a cup of it. It's simply my favorite. I'm so glad that Keurig has companies that make it year-round so I don't have to wait on fall all the time. It was a lazy weekend. I put on a black and pink dress and watched Charmed. I couldn't tell you how many times I've watched it but still good. Today I decided not going to church today because there wasn't enough time to get ready. I'm looking forward to getting my amazon package in the mail today. The last touch I need to give off the feminime look.

It's a beautiful morning, not just because of the coffee. Planning on taking it is easy. Power-washed the patio yesterday and the back is sore as heck. I had to hunch over to get the spray where I needed it. I need to shrink 3 inches or finding a longer spray wand.

Had my pumpkin spice and today is my son's last day of first grade. I'm so glad I won't have to wake up as early.

Went with my wife for support to her doctor's appointment

Hugs for you and your wife as the two of you navigate this difficult decision. Facing it as a family will ease her mind and show her that you're there for her.

Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated.

Good morning everyone,:coffee::coffee::coffee:

Ashley, congratulations to you and your son for reaching Summer break. I hope you're able to sleep in. Here in my house, I'm a morning person, and my wife is a night owl. I wake up sometime between 06:30 and 07:00 take care of the morning routine, then open the doors and windows or the cats and I to listen to the morning songbirds. I'm not able to start work in the garage, because it shares a common wall with my wife's bedroom. I don't have a particular start time since I'm self employed and the commute is real short. This gives me time to do a small amount of clerical work for the business that I'm responsible for. Once we (the cats & I) hear her up and about, or I see her icon pop up on Facebook. I know I can go out and start the air compressor.

Hugs,

Good morning

Well, I am behind a couple of days.  Rough day at work yesterday.  While I wasn’t exactly alone, I might as well have been.  I handled all but a handful of transactions and in between put up stock.

today won’t be quite as bad.  The stock is all but completely put out.  Just a few things not done.  The district manager did stop in yesterday.  After she left, the new store manager asked me about being interested in being promoted.   Said I had some questions about it but generally yes.  So we are supposed to have further conversations about that.

On Sunday we officially changed churches.  Being readily welcomed into our new church after the previous minister suggested we (I) might be better off in a different church.  Very annoying considering we’ve been members of the denomination since we were each old enough to become members.  The new church is the same denomination just a different location.

Then I had my monthly church meeting on line.  This is a church specifically for transgender people and their allies.  If you might be interested in joining us, PM me for details.  The meetings are via Google Meet.

@awkward-yet-sweet I also agree that it is very important and comforting to have affection when you aren’t feeling well.

I suppose it’s time I start getting ready for work.

Willow

Good morning everyone,:coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee:

I'm almost done browsing the social media platforms, and get to work on my next project. Last night our tomcat Sheldon seen another cat out on our back deck, and with little effort pulled the entire screen panel out of the back door. So my wife and I are surely on several ring door bell cameras herding a cat back into the house. Our cats are not outside cats, and usually respond to their names if called. We finally had to shake a treat box for him to settle down and let us near him. The screen panel was easily put back in the door, however today I will work on a decorative way to insure that doesn't happen again.

Hugs,

That is fantastic that your daughter wants Shawna in her life, as well.

Well good news! I started HRT this morning. They have me taking the patches Climara and taking Sipronolactone. I'm so happy! Now if time would fly and it starts kicking in lol. I was shocked on how small the patches are.

I like to quote what the endocrinologist said to me on this occasion, "Let's get this party started!"

That is great news, indeed.

I've still got a few more moves on the gameboard to get there.

Hehe... sometimes I think cats are more mischievous than raccoons.  Fun to open the door and see a cat climbing up the screen starting at me 😆

Lots of great and exciting news for me to catch up on here. Congratulations to @Ashley0616 - I am so jealous!!! I can't wait to hear about your experiences over time.

And, once again, I am so happy for you @ShawnaB !! It is so awesome to have your family so supportive.

I've been pretty busy the past few days but the only real excitement is that I'm finally shedding my earring "training wheels" and got the OK to put in regular earrings. I snipped those trainer posts with a pair of wire cutters and am already wearing hoops. It's not as exciting as starting HRT or getting out in public...but it's a step forward for me so I'm excited.

Be safe and look for the goodness in this beautiful day!!!

Ugh. Sorry for the double post. I’ve had problems connecting to the forum the past few days. I assume it’s my ISP, as usual.

I've had problems connecting as well... it times me out and tells me there is a problem with the server hosting these forums... I, too, always assume it's something on my end...

Good morning! 🤗   Just weighed myself and I dropped a couple of kilos in weight, I'll head to the kitchen and make a nice mug of Jacobs's brand coffee.    I'm back to feeling myself again after my 4 day stay in the hospital over the weekend. 🙂   Only one more day till shopping! 🥳

Good morning   i need to watch my tlime I open and can’t be late.  I think I figured our my breakfast issue,  a big bowl of honey nut cherioos  works better than two toaster waffles   yesterday’s coffee debacle got better mine was way too weak. Wife made a cup later, way too strong,  now if we just had baby here to get it right.   ok I admit I like Sheldon tv show.  I was planning on going to bed at 8:30 when it was over not realizing it was a double episode. Watched the second too.  I wasn’t expecting that ending.  Glad I didn’t miss it. Sorry there is only one left.     it seems like the writers strike killed a number of my preferred shows. Eithe this season or next fall will end several good shows   well gatta go.  Not even proof reading today.   hugs   willow

My experience is very similar to yours, Sally.  When I first started to socially transition I thought 'blending in' was the best approach.  It did not work AT ... ALL.  I was misgendered so often. So now I try to feminize as much as my wardrobe (and time) allows.  For 'girls' my age I believe I am far more fashionable than other women.  So, lately I have been much more successful at 'passing'. But also like you, I am not really trying to fool people.  I expect they assume I am Trans and I just hope they respect my femininity and my humanity.

Actually, they did back at the times of the AIDS pandemic in the 80's.  Some of my slightly older than I am Gay friends were beaten up and thrown out of gender correct restrooms back then.
    • Abigail Genevieve
I'm not sure the past is a sure guide to future needs.  LGB have no dog in the fight on public restrooms, for example.  That is T only, and only some T at that.

When I appear on the radio and podcast it will be in discussion with a political scientist who will discuss those aspects. I’m focussed on the implications for kids and why the recommendations are flawed. But yes, I will probably briefly paint the political background.

GFY, @Betty K. Don't forget to write about the motivations for the Cass Report, and who paid for its conclusions. "Cass Met With DeSantis Pick Over Trans Ban: Her Review Now Targets England Trans Care." — Erin Reed  And now its back to America, 'surprise, surprise.'

Hi @Sol. Great to hear from you and your updates are all encouraging. Wonderful all the support you're now getting from your family and to hear you sounding so positive and hopeful. Career as an archivist sounds like a great path - sensible and not too specific, but endlessly fascinating at the same time. Not only do museums employ archivists, but so do many other institutions such as historical societies and universities. Your university may have its own archives which you could visit and learn about. Take care & be well!

Hi @KathyLauren no worries!   I’ve only ever gotten a two-year degree in programming, and that one was just because I existed in the U.S. Air Force as a coder long enough to qualify for all of the technical credits, then I just took CLEP and DANTES tests to get the rest.   Most of my work has been in the security arena, lots of C/C++. Worked as a Red Hat hacker for a few years, and spent a few more years in gov’t spaces.

Hi, Amanda.  Your story sounds quite familiar, though my pesky body part didn't need the attention of a urologist.  You are in good company here!

Oops.  Sorry, @AmandaJoy, I see you have already posted an introduction.

Hi, @AmandaJoy.  Welcome to Trans Pulse.  Be sure to check out the various forums and join in any threads that interest you.  We'd love to read all about you in the Introductions forum.   -----   I started programming in Dartmouth Basic in high school back in the early 1970s.  I did my degree in Computer Science.  After a brief stint in the "government flying club" (RCAF), I worked as a programmer-analyst and systems analyst for about 25 years.    I am retired now, but I still enjoy programming.  I write a lot of the code for my astrophotography observatory.

WOW HAS IT BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE UPDATED!!! Welp, I'm updating now, and it's been a lot of changes.  1. My mom is starting to come around a little (I think). She does refer to me more as her child now, and even offered to help me cut my hair so I think we're making a little progress. I'm still planning on going on T later and I'm gonna start saving up to buy trans tape (I can't wear binders because I have GERD), so hopefully the progress stays. My dad, sibling, friends, and my paternal grandparents have all been super supportive and I'm really lucky for that. My sibling also goes out of their way to introduce me as their brother and it makes me so happy :D 2. I've been socializing a lot more! Mostly on Discord, but I've made some new friends and I'm really happy about that!  3. I'm on birth control! I still need to go to the gyno but my GP got me on the depo shot and it's been working for me so far! My dysphoria has gone through a lot of ups and downs, especially around periods, but that source is pretty much gone now and I feel way better. I do have more dysphoria centered around my chest now but that's pretty easily fixed with baggy shirts most of the time.  4. I know 100% now that I'm hoping for a uterine ablation (cauterizing the uterine tissue so it doesn't grow) at some point in the future and it's likely something I'll have to save up for but from my research it's a lot less invasive and safer than a hysterectomy so I definitely recommend it if people are able to access it. I also know that after that, I want to save up for a reduction to combat the chest dysphoria, and I still like having it sometimes so I'll keep a bit of it (I'm shooting for an A cup, I'm a C cup currently).  5. I've been writing more and I've even got some ideas for art projects! I also got an Archive of Our Own account where I post my finished writing, and I'm starting a book project at my mom's urging (she said she wanted that as her Christmas present so I'm gonna try, might not get it done this year though). I haven't gotten to write much lately but I'm hoping to change that this month.  And finally, 6. I'm gonna be a college junior and I have a career path to pursue! I'm gonna be an archivist, hopefully working for a museum (not too specific on where, I just like museums).  So yeah, a lot of stuff has happened and it's been pretty good!

Hi Thea!   Professional coder since ‘90, hobbyist since ‘83. C/C++, C#, Java, Ruby, Python, Ada, COBOL, Fortran, various flavors of BASIC. Love C, but it’s mostly been about Python recently.
