Cool!  Its a nice feeling when something so serious ends up going right, and maybe you made a friend.  I met a really good friend during my hospital stay in 2022.  She was part of the nursing team that took care of me, and she figured out some of my special needs and let me know I was safe with her....she wore a little rainbow pin, and she let me know that she's trans. 🥰  We've been hanging out ever since, and now she works at my county's clinic.  Sometimes we can meet great people even through tough situations.

@Mmindy how did you get a picture of me in one of my old wigs?  Looks just how I looked about a year ago.  Now picture two, that’s more like me now.

 

made a pot today.wife was up early.  And since as of now, I have five days off in a row, well that will be five straight strictly pots.  I’ll spend the time finishing my reading and contemplating my school paper I need to write.  Boy this is tough, last time I wrote an essay it was one page, not ten and for my CPA exams and that was 40some years ago.  Longer since I wrote 10 pages on a subject.  I graduated from college 50 years ago this year.

Today I have to deliver a training prop I built, and then I'm free act retired. That's how you act when you are semiretired. Work a few days... Don't work a few days... Repeat.

I've had it done and the results were wonderful.  I had worn glasses for most of my life, after the surgery, only to read.

I have slept an extra three and a half hours. I'm just drained from all the energy I had. I now have enough energy to make tea. I forgot to get creamer and will get that when I can. Good ole hump day is almost halfway over. I'm getting my appetite back. My voice is still rough.

Hello everyone   I have not been around for a while, well I sold house papers are signed and right now I am still living in the house I have until may 31.  this last few weeks have been tough for me it started with a good snow storm 2 foot put in 34 hour straight. just been feeling down lately. went to my doc. today and she told me to go do some things for myself, so I am kind of thinking of taking 2weeks off if I am able to.  also on good note I am having my testi removed in 2 weeks very excited.  took day off because we have another big snow event coming in tonight.    well every one take care

Well, its after midnight...so technically morning.  Except I haven't been able to go to sleep yet.  I keep trying at my graphic work on the computer, and I'm pretty frustrated.  I don't exactly have a deadline, but this just seems to be taking too long.  I get the lines the way I want them, and my fingers move wrong or twitch and mess it up and I have to redo it.  Sometimes the "undo" function on the program does OK, other times it does too much or too little.  I work an hour or two, then I have to give up and do something else for a while. 

 

I spent part of the evening griping about it with one of my partners.  She's got a hand issue, but instead of TBI and nerves she's got physical damage, scar tissue, and a lack of flexibility.  She's been trying to do some sewing work and get fitted for some new armor, and she's had continuing difficulty.  We ended up giving up for the night...except that she fell asleep almost instantly and I'm still awake. 😴

well I sorta got to sleep in today as I am off.  I thought I had five days off, but in talking to my manager, she indicated she’s having a hard time with next weeks schedule and it isn’t done yet.  I thought it was because she already working on the following week.  Even though I am not her asst manager, she relies heavily on me.  The actual asst manager knows the paperwork better than I do but that’s about it.  When I have time I get a lot more done around the store, keeping it clean, stocking shelves, fixing things or suggesting fixes to issues.  
 

it rained here most of the day yesterday, now it’s supposed to cool off for a few days plus the pollen count will be lower, but it will build back up.  
 

@Adrianna Danielle it is very fulfilling to find a younger person who needs a little mentoring.  And they need to know people who are radical but are also transgender.  Too often their exposure is the news showing the more outspoken Transgenders during a protest or pride event. They need to see we come in all sizes, all ages and everything else good about us, not just the slanted news.

 

@awkward-yet-sweet I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to have so must difficulty trying to do your graphics when you had been so good at it and now are having issues.  On a much lower detail scale I get it because of all the things my mind wants me to do but my hands say no.  You still have time to rehabilitate your abilities, mine are do to getting older and weaker.  At least my mind still works and I will continue to exercise that until I can’t.

It's been raining/sleeting here for a two days with temperatures in 40°s by day and low 30°s. My Spring flowers are nearly grown and completing their cycle. My most important weather concern is the skies over central Indiana next Monday 04/08/2024 for the eclipse of the Sun. As long as it's mostly sunny, an occasional cloud won't bother me. Just let it be clear for six minutes starting at 15:06 EDST during the time of totality. Here's a predicted view of the sky according to BBC Sky at Night Magazine / Pete Lawrence. Not pictured is the location of Betelgeuse our next closest star, which astronomers are keeping an eye on every night thinking it may explode.

According to EarthSky Editors on March 17, 2024

"Betelgeuse is the nearest potential supernova, but how far away is it? Distance estimates vary, but it’s probably within 1,000 light-years … a hop and a skip in galactic terms.

We know that someday, Betelgeuse will explode as a supernova. Then, it might become as bright as a full moon and possibly be visible in broad daylight!"

 

Other than that, my coffee is almost gone.

Got the eye patch off today.  Eye is improving by the hour! Sharper but most amazingly, the color correction is a wonder: true colors!!  All the colors are saturated crisp, clear, bright, contrasted, full spectrum!! Progress.

Great to hear, Davie. Both my parents had cataract surgery. It helped them both. 

 

Knee is every so slowly getting better. Of course, Yesterday I had to put a strain on it. Took out the Fatboy to ride to work, then taking the wife for our weekly dinner. We went last night because her and our youngest are going out of town today. I already have plans for tomorrows meal. Hitting the On the Hook food truck for Fish and chips.

 

While I usually am not a fan of fish, the wife and son got it about a month ago. I tried a bite, OMG it was delicious. So next time they had it. I got an order too. Yep, great. So, I am on the hook, for tomorrow.

Good morning

 

its sunny but cool again today. Got to get back to going to bed really early so I can get up really early. I open Saturday and a couple other days next week.  It’s kind of a crazy mixed up schedule because I also have a noon to 8 pm shift. 
 

1000 light years away, how do they know it didn’t already happen?  The light we see from the stars is ancient history.  Only our sun is close enough for us to see it it near time and even that happened before we see it.  Except through science fiction most people don’t realize the time really is a dimension in the universe.

 

i saw the 2017 eclipse just at the edge of near totality, it was indeed amazing however I will not be looking at this one.  We are at the edge between the second and third zones.  Frankly, I don’t trust the $4.00 cardboard viewing glasses.

 

if it’s clear, I might try to photograph it, but I have a filter for my camera made for eclipse photography. 
 

I made beef, potatoes and vegetables for dinner last night.  I may tackle chicken on Sunday. 
 

Spring breakers are here in force, not so many families but adults.  The roads are crowed, the stores are busy as are the chain restaurants.  But you can still get seated in the local establishments.
