Sounds like a must-have outfit.

And the saga continues....Now I'm home and have a full keyboard.

Another short story by Elizabeth Star.

When we reached the doctor's office our first stop was the receptionist station. She asked which of us the appointment was for. My wife immediately spoke up that it was for her. The young woman explained that only patients are allowed in the waiting room. My wife then asked her this would how work, my husband (motioning to me) needs to be with me, what is he supposed to do. The lady replied..and love this. She can wait downstairs or out in the hall, you can call her when the doctor says it's OK for her to come in. I just stood there in disbelief. Did this other woman properly gender me in front of my wife? Wife tries again. What's he supposed to do? Again she replies with She can..... This seriously just happened? Baha-ha-ha-ha!
This went on for another minute. No matter what my wife said this receptionist was NOT going to call me he/him. I went and waited in the hall...like a good girl.

Out in the hallway I was able to beat the rush and get one of the only two seats. After about 30 minutes I had to pee and there was probably a dozen people standing in the hall. I stood up and took a quick glance out the window while debating if I should risk getting clocked trying to use the ladies room on this floor or find another. We're on the 19th floor so the view is kinda cool. The I noticed a couple of "Cows on parade" statues on one of the roof-tops. Just as I take my phone out to take a picture I hear someone say "no, I think she's still sitting there". I turn around to see who this fabulous person is that called me she and saw a little old woman standing there. After that I had no problems giving up my seat or using the ladies room on that floor.

A few minutes later I got a call from my wife. The Dr. Ok'ed me coming in back and they were sending someone to get me. As I'm hanging out by the door a nurse comes outs and wanders for moment, finds her way to me, looks at me an says, Liz?   Yea, that's me. -what the heck- just happened? My wife has promised to forever dead-name me. No one there except the doctor knows my name and I doubt he remembers it. So she had to of told them to look for Liz. Right? Later after the appointment she asked if I had noticed the name they used when looking for me. So she did tell them.  Of course I noticed. It seems something else has changed.

Oh Liz, I am so happy for you.

SheenaT, the hobby of tying flies is perfect alone time for me. This fishing trip was in mostly guy mode, with a lot more color and flair. There were a couple of remarks made, and my son who knows about Mindy, did a quick head swing to see how I was going to handle the comments. I replied that my choice of Rain Gear and UV Sun blocking hoodies are the new me. DEAL WITH IT!

🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣 Daily limit everyday.🕵🏻‍♀️

Bri2020, the water temperature is a constant 55°F in the river, and our air temperatures ranged from the high 30°s in the morning to the 70°s in the afternoon. Most of our fishing was done in long john-boats so staying warm and dry was easy.

Since this is a Father-Son guys only fishing trip, I may only get to squeeze in one more trip before I'm out to everyone and presenting full time as the woman I'm suppose to be. I'm cool with that and really looking forward to it.

Coffee HOT, black, and strong.:coffee:

Hug,

Yay! progress! What a happy story!

I took a check into the bank today to get it cashed and the cashier said she liked the color of my nail polish! So nice!

She must have really wanted them to retrieve you, @ElizabethStar . The other 'she/her' talk? That'd make me want to accompany my spouse everywhere!

Lots of good stuff in that story.  It sounds like your wife's acceptance doesn't run in a straight line...like a graph that ultimately goes upward, but is kinda jagged along the way.

My guess would be a realization of, "Nobody is agreeing with me. Maybe I'm wrong?" Good on her. Good on the nurse and like I keep telling you, you look just like a skinnier version of my sister-in-law. She's never mentioned anybody mis-gendering her so I think you're stuck with being "Liz the woman." Congratulations!

Hugs!

You do and thank you.  After the last time, something clicked and I'm starting to see the real me in the mirror and in my self image.

Good morning everyone,

The work life at home is coming to an end, and returning to in office work. My Suzie is going back two and a half days a week, I'm starting to book travel training dates. We normally do 3 to 4 travel trainings a month, and last year COVID2020 Homeland security canceled all of our contracts with them. We only did 5 travel training all of last year, to date we have 10 agencies booked for travel dates, and many more waiting to see what their state, county, or city will be doing.

Coffee as usual is HOT, black, and strong.:coffee:

Hugs,

Congratulations Liz I’m so happy to hear that.

I got word from hr at my work yesterday that she had had meetings with everyone that needed to know and that the meetings went well. The ceo even showed up and spoke. They said I have the full support of my company. I’m giggly and giddy needless to say. So when I go back to work everything will be different. I’m officially full time. I also sent my name change paperwork to the courthouse via certified mail yesterday.

I know what you mean. I am more out at work than I am at home. Sad to say.

Things are happening, today. I just got off the phone with the district manager in the Spokane area. While he said that he does have a person for the store manager in Deer Park. He does think he has a place for me to transfer too. That store manager is on vacation this week. So he will get with him and discuss me and see about getting me into another store. I explained just why I am wanting to move it seems like he does understand.

🤞fingers crossed, toes crossed and even eyes crossed.

Got my first Covid shot today.   I drove up to Asheville.  At least I did get out of the house for a bit.  Beautiful weather here today.

My yard is full of limbs.  The power co. is clearing the lines along the road.

My neighbor came over and she helped me get some of the bigger pieces out for firewood.  She moved nextdoor around the time I started coming out publicly, and has been pretty chill about it all.  We haven't really talked much about that specifically, which I suppose might be a good thing.   She just seems to accept me as is.

I saw my therapist for the first time today. Almost an hour and a half drive. It was so worth it. She was awesome. She's a transwoman. She knows exactly how I feel and is willing to help me. I feel that this is going to be really good.

Her name is Diane Alexander in Savoy Illinois. With the Keri Powell therapy group. She is also in Humana PPO network which has a $40.00 copay. Does teleconferencing also.

It went great! I have the approval from my Primary Dr and will have the letter from my therapist in the next week or so. Can’t get into my endocrinologist until June so that’s kind of disappointing. But what can you do right?

How does substituting one form of bigotry for another help improve society? I find the concept of privilege to be 'acceptable prejudice'  that has been driven by political ideology. There is no question that there are significant inequalities in the world. There isn't a simple cause nor a simple solution. My goal is to have evidence before I judge someone. Human beings are extremely tribal thus less trusting of those that are different and reluctant to stray from their tribes world view.   I think we confuse entitlement with privilege. I worked in technology in the 70s, 80s and 90s when it was almost entirely a male field. In my personal experience, I was guilty of having preconceptions about women in technology that I learned over time were just bias. I preferred working with women because they more likely to discuss issues than dictate the solution. I did discover that those men that behaved with what we would now term privilege were mostly viewed with the same dislike by the women and men I worked with.

That's a bleak and dismal view of humanity; I don't buy it personally. Like I said, every group has upsides and downsides. One of the downsides of being a male is that it's only socially acceptable to feel three emotions; "Fine/Okay", "Angry" or "-excited-". If you express any other emotion, society labels you a wuss lol. ALL groups have upsides, downsides, good qualities and bad qualities. That's the nature of duality; that's the nature of yin and yang, that's the fundamental nature of the whole Universe. Trying to say any one group is "more" or "less" is....illogical lol. Especially in America where all Americans have the same Bill of Rights under the same Constitution.  One of the downsides of being white for example is that anyone who isn't white will probably automatically think you're a racist just because of the color of your skin; happens to me all the time. Didn't used to. I wonder why??? Kidding lol. I know exactly why racism against white people is on the rise. (Identity politics. It's divisive lol.) Hell, look at our school system (what's left of it.) A lot of teachers are leaving because of the "Critical Race Theory" bull crap that's being forced on them, because, for some baffling reason lol, teachers just aren't comfortable with teaching kids that there's something wrong with the color of their skin. They don't want to tell black kids that they'll never be good enough in the eyes of society. They don't want to tell white kids that they're inherently racist because of what their ancestors did hundreds of years ago. Why don't they want to teach kids these things? Because it's racist, and Contrary to what the left would have you believe, America isn't a racist country. The left is definitely a racist party though if you ask me; all they ever see is race lmao. And it's disgusting. They don't judge people based on the quality of their character; they judge them based on their race and gender...so they're SEXIST too lmao.  I know I'm probably a minority in my beliefs. I know it's dangerous to share my opinion. I don't care.  Nowadays it's dangerous to be anything but a super "woke" liberal socialist lol. Anyone with a different viewpoint is just a racist lmao. "Worse than Hitler!" 😆🙄 PS: Yeah, people in my country at least DID see other people as people. At least they did before Obama started telling everyone race was still a serious issue...despite becoming friggin' PRESIDENT lmao. XD I gotta love the hypocritical irony; just gotta laugh at it sometimes lol. Like when Biden said masks work but walls don't. That cracked me up lmao. XD Anyhoo....yeah, this country gonna get ran into the ground now. I'm just sitting back with a bucket of popcorn waiting for the new Civil War to begin so I can run for the hills to avoid my fate in the concentration camps lol.

ive tried before (with cousins) plus kind of with parents but nothing is working and i talked to a therapist before while i was feeling too different but that just led to talk to a therapist that like specializes in trauma because of how shy i can be   ive heard once before from an online friend i had before that each of us needs to take care of our selves the most not seek help. thats true but each one of us does need help too   but thinking back to before i was open i never needed help and im trying to not need help like before

Also I do care, I just am not in a position to help you, I was thinking someone like a parent or sibling.
    • rainflower
Ok Mary, then you need to tell someone that cares about you and get help, either thru hotline or hospital.
    • rainflower
Don't be blind to the issues, there is privilege based on race/sex/ethnicity/gender/economic status etc. and others suffer for it. There has never been a time in recorded history were people saw other people as people, the only difference is now these things are getting labels and brought into the light to be confronted.
    • Maddee
I sang a lot to cope.   Avoided manu passages of man life.  Didn't want to walk through them I guess.   Not surrendering to being entirely "normal" (as I percieved it) helped me.    My life matrix aided and abetted my escapade.  Especially prior to coming to terms and committing to transitioning.   That last part may sound strange, but Im not sure how else to express it..
    • Carolyn Marie
Thank you for sharing the story, @Jandi.  It is unfortunate but entirely expected that such stories as yours will not play well in conservative-leaning communities.  Times change as well as attitudes, however slowly; the acceptance of gay marriage being the most obvious example.  Yet,  there are people who wish to roll back the clock on even that.  They will not succeed, because people have seen that gay marriages have not "destroyed the institution of marriage" as some predicted.  They will also come to see that trans people are not scary, and deserve equality and respect.  But it will take time.   HUGS   Carolyn Marie

Welcome to the forum.  Obviously we do not condone self medication of any kind so I'm glad to read you've stopped.   Going on HRT will provide the benefits you desire as you've seen.  As your hair is fine now you might wait to see how it goes.  Time to start Electrology!
