Good morning All. Coffees on.

Good morning, my coffee is half gone . I'll get more when I get to work.

I had been severely stressing over the nicotine testing for my upcoming surgery. Although, I thew out all my vaping equipment and supplies right after the phone call there always that fear something will go wrong. And, the test takes a week to perform so there's plenty of time to freak out over nothing. Got the official word yesterday, I'm good, my levels are that of a non-smoker now and there's no way I'm ever picking up that habit again.

I have a lot going on with my relationships lately. Polyamory seems to be working for me. I am currently in relationships with 6 people. It's interesting how everyone seems to want someone but not all the time and definitely not in their space 24/7. No U-Hauls, no rings. life is good. There is one partner I really wish I could openly talk about. She is so amazing and our thoughts and feeling on things line up quite a bit. Could just sit there on the hood of car, with her head on my should for hours and hours, just enjoying the moment.

Ugh!, time to get ready for work.

Have a great day everyone❤️

@Elizabeth Star good job on quitting nicotine :)

IDK if I could date 6 people and be romantically involved with all of them at once, but I am curious about trying to move outside of tradition. I guess it has to do with transparency and openness. I think I am prob. already involved with someone who could be poly but we just haven't defined it as such. Because now I am starting to see another girl and it feels more natural to me just to be open about everything. Because a lot of people the marriage template just didn't work out, and they blame themselves.

I think I would like to go in this direction.   I realized awhile back that one could love more than one person at the same time.  But it's really just a thought since I'm not in even one relationship, and can't see any in the future either.

Oh well…

It would just be nice for 6 people to want to be a true friend. Oh, well the world keeps turning.

Finally a day off alone where I am not under pressure to get things unpacked. After a shower, I'm dressing in something comfy and maybe work on getting my hobby desk organized. May work on the custom bags for the bike. May run to the hardware store and pick up some shelving brackets to get some more storage in the garage. Maybe I'll see about picking up a ladder and putting up the new lights for the front/back door and garage.

Or maybe I'll just sit and drink coffee al day and veg.

Have a great day everyone.

Hugs,

Kymmie

41 days till bottom surgery and I am officially freaked out.  Adding to that, I've developed a case of jock itch for the first time in 2 years. How does that work when they flip everything inside into a moist environment? Of all the things to worry about, now I'm concerned I will be constantly fighting that battle.

I saw back a few pages people were concerned about having a support person.  Check with your doctor/care manager/insurance to see if skill cared is an option for your recovery period. They might be able to arrange for a nursing assistant to be there for you for a couple of days.

Liz I don't know how you manage that many people, sounds exhausting but I am glad your life is on your terms now and you seem to be so much happier than a couple years back.  Wow, a couple years! I've been on this site now for a little over 2 years.

My life goes into official craziness now.  in 30 days I start to isolate to avoid a positive covid test pre-op.  Between now and then I have a 5 day scuba trip, then my final trip to genital electro in Chicago, back home for 6 days then off to see my daughter in FL for a long weekend.  Somewhere in between all this I have to help a couple get their home ready for market and get that listed/sold.  Yup- officially overwhelmed.  I'm hoping I don't have to deal with any work stuff on the scuba trip, I need the break. I am doing something totally cool for this trip and going on a Blackwater Dive. Basically instead of diving on a reef, you go way out to a place with 600-1000 feet of water at night and jump off the boat. They hang some lights and reflectors off the boat for a reference but you hang out around 50 feet down and away from the lights. All the small critters like cephalopods, shrimps, baby fish/octopus and squid all come up from the deep attracted to the moon. I can't wait to see how it goes and hopefully get good macro photos of luminescent creatures!   Every so often, the open ocean sharks show up like blues, threshers, white tips etc.  If I get any good pics I will post some.

@Bri2020 That dive trip sounds incredible!! Hope you have a blast. I may look into getting back into diving next year.

I couldn't do that kind of diving - sky diving, yeah, but...well, my hat's off to you, @Bri2020. Hope you enjoy.

@Bri202041 days, wow, congratulations. You're not going to forget about us afterwards are you?

Managing all those people isn't as hard as it might seem. It's not like I see each one of them every day. At the moment there's only 3 that I see with any regularity. The others, it's mostly we text or talk on messenger. It's the idea of having someone else in your life that cares and will listen that can make all the difference in the world. And I do care. They message me, I message back, immediately. Not hours later.

I got the official word on Tuesday to stop taking my HRT meds, That includes my Progesterone and sleep aids (no NSAIDs). I really need my Tylenol PM or NyQuil Z. I literally cannot sleep with out them so I'm back on the Ambien. I took that stuff every night for 15 years and was happy to get away from it at the beginning of the year. Thankfully it's only for a couple of weeks.

I got pulled into a meeting with the VP at work again. Something about my skirts being too short. It probably because I started wearing then up around my waist instead down at my hips. But, I found out, despite what my supervisory told me, there is no issue or policy with wearing dresses, skirts and open toed shoes.

So they're harassing you in particular? Charming.

Sorry to hear about your HRT though, that's going to be miserable in about two weeks. Hopefully you can get back on it soon.

As for poly relationships... so long as you're not everybody else's rock. I've got a poly friend who likes to save people. That's great and all, but it makes her a magnet for people that really ought to be working on themselves instead of relying on my friend. I met one of her new girlfriends yesterday and I was not impressed. She can definately do better.

It will hurt ENTIRELY too much for you to even notice. They're also going to disinfect the heck out of that tissue before they invert. Treat the jock itch though. You don't want an active fungal infection messing up your new gear. We're prone to yeast and bladder infections as it is and dilation is enough of a chore without a yeast infection on top of it. Best advice I got from my surgeon was, "Be in the best shape of your life." You want to be as healthy as possible going in.

I also feel like I should make a mushroom collector joke, but I'm much too classy for that.

Well got some stuff done yesterday. All three of the lights are up and working great. I was even able to get more of my desk in order. Today I am going to try and find a panel and fuse block for a couple projects. Wish me luck. Will be running up to wally world for some cheap brushes so I can break out the fiberglass and work on the extended bags for the bike.

I now know why you see so many woman wearing yoga pants. Wore some yesterday. wow are they comfy. Well check a couple more things and off to my chores.

Good morning

Well, today is turning out to be a good day after all.  My lawyer called yesterday and said I’d been excused from court.  They can’t get ahold of the alleged complainant.  He will apprise me of my next court date or the dismissal which ever occurs.

I suppose depending upon how you define it, we all could be poly.  I certainly have multiple close girlfriends.  Some here and others on Facebook but only one in a daily face to face relationship, my wife.

@Bri2020 night diving can be very exciting.  You will definitely see critters you don’t see during the day time.  DO NOT shine your light at a barracuda. They are attracted to anything shiny and will come towards the light.  I used to teach diving in a very low visibility quarry.  I’ve done and lead night dives as a a scuba instructor.

Apparently the complaint was why I can wear them and others cannot?

*Because I know how to wear them and have the right attitude.*

And the high-neck tank I was wearing was showing too much shoulder but the sleeveless dress I wore the day before did not. It's a very fine line.  The shoulder on the high-neck tank are 2in wide but hug my neck, the dress they're 1-3/4in wide but out a lot further. So, it's not so much about the actual width as it is about the placement. this is why I was confused.

Ugh, I'm already miserable. I'd get back on it as soon as I get home but I don't trust myself with needles with under the influence of anesthetic.

From what I can tell most of my partners have they're stuff together and are looking for the same in their partners. I will help but will NOT be that rock. I did that for way too long. One of the things I tell everyone up front is that they must be making a effort to better themselves in one way or another. "Cause I am NOT going through that again.

I did a Zoom presentation last night to a group of women astrophotographers.  I was a bit nervous that my voice would out me, but if it did, no one commented on it.  It was fun.  I was well-prepared and knew what points I wanted to cover, so it went smoothly.  I had some nice feedback afterwards that I told them exactly the kind of stuff they needed to hear.

I am not "stealth".  Being outed by my voice is not a disaster, just annoying.  I just don't like my being trans to be a factor when the subject under discussion is something else like photography.

I LOVE that for you. It's exhausting to have to drag your partner along with you while you're trying to move forward.

The place I worked before this had a rule that the straps had to be one hand-width. That absolutely wasn't happening so I just wore t-shirts. They also had a rule about skirts without leggings. Both made sense, but most of the time, I just wore jeans and a t-shirt with a flannel shirt on top of that for safety reasons. A tough/loose outer-layer that you can slip out of could save you from injury. I'm surprised most of my co-workers weren't so careful.

Now my uniform is plain black tights with a plain black racerback tank-top. A little boring, but functional and I can show my shoulders off.

Hugs!

Morning, everyone! Friday yet again, somehow successfully survived my first week back to school. The first 3 days were frustrating! So many obstacles that limited my time to plan out the week/semester but now it is more calmed down. I hope that by this time next week, I would say that I am more in the zone. Wish me luck! 💀☕

I got off cigarettes after nine years, and it was another year before I stopped dreaming that I had gone back to smoking. Arguably the least dangerous addictive substance in terms of impact on lifestyle, nicotine is nonetheless a formidable opponent when you're trying to quit.

Hi @Jamey, nice to meet you. I wonder how other people respond to you on those days when you dress in jeans and a t-shirt? Do they treat you as male? And if so, do you correct them? I know for myself that jeans and a t-shirt can cause people to think of me as male, and while this hurts, it also gives me a day of rest from time to time during which I don’t feel so watched. In my case, I am out to every significant person in my life including workmates, so I don’t feel inauthentic so much as slightly eroded somehow in my sense of myself. But when I was still working with clients who did not know I was trans, and wearing jeans and t-shirt while I did so, that felt inauthentic.    I guess what I’m saying is, yes, authenticity is about how we feel on the inside, but it’s also about how we communicate that feeling to others. Maybe, in jeans and t-shirt, you feel you’re hiding in plain sight?

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a thought for the day, but I wish it could be advertised to the wider community (I avoid using female restrooms/showers/... because of the wrong that exists between my legs). The trans woman in the public restroom is not saying, "I’m here to invade your space!" - she’s saying, "please take me in, I have no other place to go." We’re not conquerors or invaders, we’re refugees.

I never understood (tobacco) addiction, until I overheard a conversation my Dad had with a smoking friend of his.   Dad had gone cold turkey on cigarettes after a close friend died of lung cancer at 40yo.  About 25 years later, he told his friend that he craved a cigarette every time someone lit up near him - so scary.  Kudos to every person who managed to kick an addiction.

I was going to throw away my two pair of barely used "breasts".  I'm not aware of an LGBTQI center where I live but will take them with me on my ~1350km drive to Brisbane (nearest capital city) soon - should be something there.

I think this is true for all mental aspects of HRT.  I've always been emotional so neither my wife or I expected much of a change on this front but there was - the emotions are stronger on both ends of the spectrum and I can swing fairly quickly.  The way I feel and sense interactions with other people has also changed.  I enjoy and desire conversations with women and I tend to get disinterested during conversations with men. On a slightly negative front, I have started experiencing a "loss of power" - I have been a team leader for many years and have recently started noticing that people (men) outside my team sort of ignore me and start decision making conversations with male team members who work under me.  My being less assertive since HRT may be one of the reasons for my perceived loss  of power.

I'm sure that others have probably mentioned these before, but in my pre-HRT research I never saw taste/diet change or body odour change listed, so these both came as a pleasant surprise for me. The impossible to miss diet/taste change for me has been that I'm eating salads on a plate, with dressing, for the first time in my life.  It's not just that I'm eating them, I'm really enjoying them - having meals with plated salad at least 4 times a week now.

It was many years before the shame of my addiction lessened.  I had heard the statement : "i'm grateful to be an alcoholic" and thought the speaker nuts!  Today i can echo those words as i accept my alcoholism and gender as well.   I have found that i when i share my journey it shows another there is a path.  It is always up to them wether they want to take it.   It took me time to fully understand " To thine own self be true" .  Yet another reason to be grateful.   Hugs,   Charlize

I've been inspired to count clean and sober days.  I got a 24 hour coin and triangle necklace.  I've been listening to Elton John lately.  I started counting days from my 30 year Navy anniversary.  I like the idea of celebrating 50 years since joining the Navy and 20 years fully clean and sober on the same day.  It's good to have goals, right?   Whether I'm truly an addict is an issue I struggle with.  My lifelong best friend definitely is an addict.  I come from a long line of alcoholic gamblers on my father's side.  Thankfully, my father started recovery through AA before I was born and then gave me a good education in it while I was doing drugs in high school.  That definitely slowed down my alcohol and drug use.   My friend has struggled with AA for decades and he is still in active addiction.  I think it is critical to have a good home environment to get clean and sober.  I don't think the people he is living with are using much, but it certainly is not a functional household.  I've been very protective of my home environment.  I guess I'm writing you about all this because I might feel like a bit of an AA imposter being around him.  I do credit AA with the successes I've had over addiction and I'm starting to show a little pride in that.   OK, I've got a real question in this post...  Do you think there is value in hiding my AA pride from my friend?  I certainly don't want to cram it down his throat.  But after actively coming out as transgender, I have a clearer picture of what it is like to hide.  Hide/pride.  There is both a positive and negative side to pride.   When I got my 24 hour coin, I looked at it and said "spiritual progress, not spiritual perfection."  I love the To Thine Own Self Be True and the serenity prayer on them.  It really is a good token.   On a side note, my father stayed clean and sober for the rest of his life, but he continued his gambling addiction.  It was a real turn off for me, so I've stayed away from gambling.  In a few years here, I'll be in the position of having money to invest and I'm realizing that the gambling aspect of investing is a total turn off for me.  I think I'd rather work another year or two to cover the interest I might have gained by investing.   -Lydia

Baseline audits are a normal thing for charities and the ones I was involved with as an auditor usually came up with nothing worse than that a former signatory for bank checks had not been removed from the account after the signatory had died in office or that bank receipts were not being turned into bookkeeper although the funds were showing on the bank statement, thus the statement showing too much money (the minutes of the organization were also quiet on the transactions because of that too.)  Nothing evil or felonious just carelessness corrected by a thorough review and admonishment.       A case where some POTENTIAL for harm exists, and a demand for ZERO potential for it by depriving ALL beneficiaries.  😵 😵  Even on these forums we know that some forms of binding carry the possibility of harm and we have done our best to recommend against those actions.  This is a matter between the Trans Man and their supportive medical team and NOT some busybody in the neighborhood who read The Daily Mail's scare piece on it.

Hi y’all   Some time back my wife and I were in a fabric store together.  She is making a baby quilt for a friend of ours and was looking for backing fabric.  Any way I asked if she would help me pick a fabric and pattern and teach me to sew.  I thought it fell of death ears.  Then last night she shows me a pattern, what do you think of these?  Then we talked about the cost of making versing buying ready made.  The only savings would be a nicer fabric and multiple pairs off the same pattern.  Today she found where she could get the pattern.  Sounds like she is really making an effort for me.   😀willow

The problem for some healthcare providers is that there have not been many studies clearly demonstrating superiority, however, it can be very useful. I have been on progesterone in addition to injections starting 1 month after I started estrogen. The key is the micronized progesterone. I had put out a few references regarding progesterone. The reality is that cisgender women have both during their developmental years and through middle adulthood. It makes sense to just mimic nature.  I will try to dig up those research articles. I found the same elevation in estrogen levels and reduced testosterone with progesterone. Progesterone suppresses gonadal androgen production.
