I watched this as soon as it dropped on Friday . It is so well done. There is so much raw emotion captured, with these people speaking of their life experiences and how media representation affects(ed) them.  I can only hope everyone watches this and learns something and they come away with a little more understanding that we are just people, like everyone else and that we need or stories told too, by us.

Over the last 7 years I have found myself on the fringes of the entertainment community and know and am known by about 3/4 of the people in this write up.  I have actually been a Background Artist in several things and I am now up to 7 documentaries that have all risked cameras by pointing them at me. Recently I have also been in two You Tube productions that came out last month even though both are onlyabout 3.5 minutes long.  I did audition for one actual short movie (because I was registered from my background work) that was Trans written, produced, directed and acted.  I did not get the part but a friend did and I kid her about it a bit when we talk online now.  Her Cis character ended up dead at the 2/3 point of the film though.  I am overjoyed that I have all of these people in my life and teaching me things about the entertainment industry.  I am also happy to see the positive strides we have made over recent years. Even without seeing this yet, just knowing my friends who are in it, I know it is good and will open needed eyes to what does go on in this world. We are tough to write about, which is behind a lot of this because what we see as ordinary in our lives is actually a bit too ordinary to sell script properties to more Cis funding/producing sources. Funding is a big problem but it is starting to happen.   There are wonderful and audience engaging episodes in our lives that can be portrayed but not as grisly or heroic.  A mom and Trans daughter Bride having an ordinary discussion about the wedding  is as heart catching knowing the Bride is Trans and (wife or husband or Queer spouse) would be but it is only one part of movie, what is the rest where Trans makes a different selling point.   We have many stories to tell that, while dramatic are uplifting as well, and heaven knows we and the public need that sort of thing.  I am biased and think we need those more than exploding cartoon characters.
