I was just wondering if you were going to wear shoes to the doctor.

Sh...oos? What are sh...oos? ?

Of course, but they're going to have to be my snow runners. I'll take a last image before heading out the door tomorrow to prove it. lol.

Thanks for the compliment as well. ?

Good morning and thank you for sharing your clothing options with us. I'm with @Vanessa Michelle on this thread, and can't wait until my closet is full of women's wear. @Teri Anne thank you for encouraging patience, it helps.

There is no reason to rush and when you feel the time is right then go for it. It's a decision that only you can make.

What I will say is the day you decide to venture out you will wonder what took you so long LOL

Just so you all know, I did wear shoes today. Well, my snow boots. See image below. After my appointment I went grocery shopping, still dressed up, went to the lawyer's to sign a revision to the divorce agreement and then went to the new thrift shop in town where I was boring and only bought a fabric belt so I can get rid of my leather one.

I can't express how liberating and gratifying it was to just get out there as myself. I was so happy. But now I have to get ready for work and don the boy clothes, but this too shall eventually change.

So glad you had the opportunity to get out and be yourself.

The ladies in the thrift store I go to all the time know me by name and treat me like any other female.

Come to think of it I don't think any of them know I was born male.

Thats because I never felt the need to tell them otherwise.

Being trans is hard enough and I made a decision years ago not to mention it and demand they accept me like some trans people do.

One quick way to start trouble for yourself is demand things from people. Just walk in do your business and be friendly.

@Niamhooh those boots!!!!

Speaking of boots. I had some time to kill yesterday and just happened to be next to a DSW and found these on the clearance rack.  I promised my wife to hold off on more shoes until our finances catch up a bit and it was VERY hard to not walk on out with these for only $48.  Not often you find inexpensive size 12 boots that fit well and look good.  I was a good girl though ;'(

Oh hey @Drayse! I just bought a pair of waterproof boots for snow-stuff myself. Naturally they'll arrive well after the snow hits tonight.

@Bri2020, I like those boots too! That's a nice heel too. I want some. I guarantee they don't come in size Sasquatch, but I'd definitely wear those.

@Teri Anne, I completely agree. I don't feel the need to stuff being trans down anybody's throat. I'll wear my flag mask to the gym occasionally, but allies are allowed to wear the colors too. It honestly never occurred to me to be in anybody's face about it. I'm trans. I'm trying to live my best life. I am a skinny bitch (seriously, I'm built like a popsicle stick) and none of it involves spectators.

Hugs!

Bri I would jump on those boots they are too cute. The heel is perfect for me.

Jackie the way I look at it me being trans is my business and not some sort of  thing I have to tell anyone. Oh sure some people figure it out  but by that time its a moot point.

I understand some feel the need to tell everyone they know but sometimes that causes more problems.

Thanks.... Now I think I need another pair of boots. Actually, I know I do. I’m still hung up on high heel hiking boots.

I just don’t understand why some people have such a strong need to make sure everyone knows they’re trans when they would probably pass if they kept their mouth shut about it. I just want to blend in and be treated the same as other women, not special. But that’s me.

Blending thats the key word in the whole thing IMO.

I think the younger crowd just wants to stand out or prove a point or something. I think they put too much emphasis on identity.

I was talking to a young trans girl at a PRIDE event and she commented on my attire being too plain and I told her I didn't know being trans was a competition and that I wasn't trying to impress anyone..

Whelp, the youngest trans-girl I know personally is 27 and she's not like that at all. She's like me; perfectly content to live her life as a woman. Well, and maybe a little, "And find some flattering clothes that fit." Cis-women deal with that too though.

Which brings us back to the boots. Why can't I find those in a 13? Why!?!?

Hugs!

I think non passing trans are great and probably normalize trans and even non passing cis people.

I think just being you passing or non passing is fine.

As long as you are happy and living your life the way you want.

I just got my new water-proof winter slip-ons! Glee! Now I'm much less likely to break my neck while shoveling snow.

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?

I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?

Congrats to your family on the new addition!

Funny you think that I would be able to get through more than two sentences with how bad my stutter gets (joking, of course)   My topic would probably be mythology, random Japan factoids in my mind, or a favorite story   (Best option would be a fave story of mine including a lot of factoids on Japanese myths-)

Congratulations @ivy. Nothing beats a family growing two feet at a time!

I read each of your entries and learn so much. Thank you, especially, for the TransCentralPA info. I have been looking fora group and activities where I could express myself safely and with support. I missed this year's conference but next year might be possible and I am going to look at their other events, too.

I have read numerous accounts of trans folk no longer being welcome among evangelicals.   I am here for help and fellowship not to rebuke anyone.  I can take a pretty high degree of insult, etc., and you haven't insulted me, to my recollection anyway :) and I usually let it go.  But I thought I would let it all out there.   I am sure I disagree with you on numerous issues.  I appreciate other people's viewpoints, including those who radically disagree with me.  Intellectual challenge is good. One thing I appreciate about @MaeBe.
