I'm wearing regular sweats, FROM THE WOMENS DEPARTMENT ? and a wig, with hair down to my waist, and trying to learn how to do my own nails, which is an adventure, I am doing a sloppy job so far! Ugh!! LOL

@Bri2020 4-5” heels are standard for me. The only flats I have are work shoes (I’m a waitress), pink Sketchers, and mowing the lawn shoes. Want to learn to be good in heels? Vacuum in them! You’ll learn balance quick and the vacuum helps when you need a little support, kind of like a cane. Start slow, but you’ll be a natural in no time!

That actually sounds like a great idea.

Got me thinking about heel height and shoe size. I'm thinking about the angle my foot is at when I (size 11) wear 3 inch heels vs. a friend, she's size 6. For my foot to be at the same angle as hers I would probably have to wear what 4-5 inch heels. This might not makes any sense.

Tried my high heeled wedges yesterday and there is no way I can function in them.LOL

They are a really darling looking pair but sadly I can't wear them.

That's rough. To have a pair of shoes that fit but that you can't wear... torture. I haven't ventured into heels yet but I've got a friend who keeps pushing me to. We'll see.

Hugs!

Me either.

It's hard to even find them big enough.  And I'd most likely bust my a55.

Do you think with time and practice, you could get used to them? I do ankle rolls before wearing heels, which helps me feel more comfortable with them on. But the highest I can wear so far is 3"...

3 inch is usually as high as I can go comfortably.

The wedges are 5 inch and being as heavy as I am its just hard to keep my balance.

I tried something a little different today. One of my old work shirts. *Excuse me while I cover this company logo.* If anyone asks I got the shirt from a guy I used to have a thing with ?

Due to rules I can't post pics of sleepwear but in prep for lounging around the house for the next week or so recovering from my boob job I bought a nice pair of PJ shorts and matching lightweight lounge robe in a pastel print. I will be absent from posting what I'm wearing here until next wednesday but I will be keeping an eye out for what you all are doing.  here's the print swatch of the my loungewear for the next week though.

That looks pretty! Just whatever you wear, be prepared for, um, leakage. I'd hate for you to stain that beyond laundry redemption.

For myself, I'm flying out for surgery Wednesday and expect to be wearing my pajamas, underwear and pads from the point I get back from the hospital on Thursday until the following Wednesday when I get the accursed catheter out. Similar straits on posting. I'll do my best, but it's going to depend on the wi-fi situation.

I have some kinda support bras witch will also have bandages under them for absorption so hopefully won't mess things up too much. Plus- they're from target so not a big investment.

Good luck with your surgery and recovery, maybe we can video chat at some point from our recovery beds. lol

That would be fun! It might have to be after the 2nd though. I'm not sure what my connectivity options are going to be like in PA. Hopefully the recovery won't be too harsh.

I've never had a BA, so all I really know is that there's a weight limit during the recovery period so you don't tear your stitches open. Seriously. I know girls that have had reductions, but nobody in my circle has ever had BA. exciting new territory! Best of luck and may the results be all you've ever hoped for and more!

Hugs!

Just in a dark mood today.

So... Tuesday? ?

Looking good regardless. I need more black dresses. I would have made a GREAT goth.

I'm still dressed for the gym, today's shirt says, "Bippity Boppity Bitch" in the Disney font.

Hugs!

I've been feeling a bit more optimistic about the situation with my wife today. Apart from one genuine emergency she has never consented to leaving our home with me as Niamh and has repeated several times that it isn't going to happen.

So today we have a builder doing some work on our garage building and I reminded my wife that she wanted to show the builder a garage that has recently been renovated at a property a few hundred yards away as she wants a similar style of materials to be used. So she, the builder and I marched off to look at this other garage down the road.

This is how I was dressed....

(I know - it will probably be put in the exceptions category - but I live in hope)

Hi, Amanda.  Your story sounds quite familiar, though my pesky body part didn't need the attention of a urologist.  You are in good company here!

Oops.  Sorry, @AmandaJoy, I see you have already posted an introduction.

Hi, @AmandaJoy.  Welcome to Trans Pulse.  Be sure to check out the various forums and join in any threads that interest you.  We'd love to read all about you in the Introductions forum.   -----   I started programming in Dartmouth Basic in high school back in the early 1970s.  I did my degree in Computer Science.  After a brief stint in the "government flying club" (RCAF), I worked as a programmer-analyst and systems analyst for about 25 years.    I am retired now, but I still enjoy programming.  I write a lot of the code for my astrophotography observatory.

WOW HAS IT BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE UPDATED!!! Welp, I'm updating now, and it's been a lot of changes.  1. My mom is starting to come around a little (I think). She does refer to me more as her child now, and even offered to help me cut my hair so I think we're making a little progress. I'm still planning on going on T later and I'm gonna start saving up to buy trans tape (I can't wear binders because I have GERD), so hopefully the progress stays. My dad, sibling, friends, and my paternal grandparents have all been super supportive and I'm really lucky for that. My sibling also goes out of their way to introduce me as their brother and it makes me so happy :D 2. I've been socializing a lot more! Mostly on Discord, but I've made some new friends and I'm really happy about that!  3. I'm on birth control! I still need to go to the gyno but my GP got me on the depo shot and it's been working for me so far! My dysphoria has gone through a lot of ups and downs, especially around periods, but that source is pretty much gone now and I feel way better. I do have more dysphoria centered around my chest now but that's pretty easily fixed with baggy shirts most of the time.  4. I know 100% now that I'm hoping for a uterine ablation (cauterizing the uterine tissue so it doesn't grow) at some point in the future and it's likely something I'll have to save up for but from my research it's a lot less invasive and safer than a hysterectomy so I definitely recommend it if people are able to access it. I also know that after that, I want to save up for a reduction to combat the chest dysphoria, and I still like having it sometimes so I'll keep a bit of it (I'm shooting for an A cup, I'm a C cup currently).  5. I've been writing more and I've even got some ideas for art projects! I also got an Archive of Our Own account where I post my finished writing, and I'm starting a book project at my mom's urging (she said she wanted that as her Christmas present so I'm gonna try, might not get it done this year though). I haven't gotten to write much lately but I'm hoping to change that this month.  And finally, 6. I'm gonna be a college junior and I have a career path to pursue! I'm gonna be an archivist, hopefully working for a museum (not too specific on where, I just like museums).  So yeah, a lot of stuff has happened and it's been pretty good!

Around here, a culturally-appropriate gender-neutral form of address is either "dear" or "hun".  It tends to be mostly women who use those, though I did have a man address me as "dear" in a store today.    It could be startling for a come-ffrom-away to hear themselves being addressed that way, but, locally, it is considered a friendly, not particularly creepy, gender-neutral way to address someone.
