I can't show pictures today ;).

I went bra shopping at a high end lingerie store "Trousseau". They came highly recommended by everyone I know in the area including being known as trans friendly.  They have 160 sizes and if a bra is close but maybe the straps aren't long enough or there is a bit of pucker in the cup, the do alterations in house for free!!

Anyways, I went in and they took me to a dressing room and did a band measurement. She asked what styles I was looking for (I already told them the girls were new and I didn't have any bras to fit them)

She disappeared for about 5 minutes and came back with 3. She told me to try one on then she came back in. It fit perfectly.  She didn't even do a "bust measurement- she just knew by looking.  Armed with that, she started shopping for me while I would try things on and she would assess how it fit. Apparently, it's not just about your cup letter, but a "C" cup can come in many different cup profiles to fit different profile breasts- who knew. She knew the ones that best fit Augmented boobs since they tend to have a symmetrical balanced profile.  So... 15-18 bras later .......I narrowed it down and left with a smooth t-shirt bra that converts to a racerback, a plunge bra and a strapless/strap demi.  The brand was all Chantelle.  They are NOT CHEAP but the quality is light years better than anything I've tried on before. They don't have as much stretch as department store brands so according to her, if I treat them right, they should last for years.  I'm $260 poorer but I love my new bras.

My surgeon apparently gives all his patients an $80 gift certificate to there on my 3 month checkup so I think I will use that on something sexy and fun.

Neat! If I leave now, I can be there in just under nine hours if I avoid the toll roads. ?

Seriously though, it sounds like a great experience. A "small" business sounds right up my alley.

Hugs!

Pffft! I spent half that much on one pair of walking shoes that will wear out in 6 months!

thanks for the awesome research though. This will come in extremely handy one day, soon I hope!

Anyone near Chicago want to have coffee do a little thrift shopping on Oct 18th? I get in around 1pm and have the whole afternoon/evening free. Heading up to Wilmette for electrolysis on the 19th.

I might be able to do something. I work about 20 minutes from them.

I get down to Wilmette for electro every ten weeks. not Oct though.   FFS scheduled there too, and I don't have anyone with me.  it's like 3 1/2 hr drive to IL for me.  Also would love to meet up sometime

Today I'm going with this

This is actually from yesterday, but I got quite busy after I took the pic. It was quite hot (around 30C/84F) and so I got out the summer top and skirt to stay cool(ish). Back to more normal temperatures (17/18C) today, but it should stay dry for a meetup with some other trans friends this evening when I hope to put on a more posh frock :)

I'm wearing my brand new binder right now!

Congrats!

When I was at the consignment shop talking about schedules for my start date I noticed all the ladies had very supportive footbed sandals like birkenstock but prettier. It's a concrete floor and I will be on my feet for 7 hours which I haven't done since my RN days.  Most of my footwear is not "stand on your feet all day without a lot of pain" footwear. lol. I only have sneakers or hiking boots which aren't very stylish for working in a fashion shop. So what's a girl to do?  SHOPPING!

I went to a "Birkenstock" shop near me that sells other brands as well and found these Dansko corkbed sandals.  They felt great so I got these in the black and a dark red, pretty close to oxblood but a little redder.  This should get me through to late fall for almost anything I wear. (wow, I need a pedicure and leg shave lol)

They're comfy, easy and waterproof. You never know when you're going to get vomited on. At least I'll have dry socks.

Hugs!

Those look comfy!

I know it’s early but I started browsing for ideas for Halloween! I’m kinda excited this year and will probably be wearing something completely NSFW this year since I have boobs for the first time. Lol. Was thinking a poison ivy costume.  My only challenge is we are having an outdoor party and you never know how cold it will get.

You're right, Halloween is JUST around the corner now isn't it. I'll need to figure out something for my anniversary and Kathy's party. Fortunately, my sister-in-law has her party a couple weeks after the holiday because a goodly portion of the guests work at haunted houses.

No freaking idea what I'm going to wear though.

Pro-tip on the NSFW Halloween costumes for other members who are less endowed like myself: Fake boobs exist. I personally own three pair and they work great for boosting your, ahem, profile if your look needs a bit more bust.

Hugs!

I haven't thought about a Halloween costume 'cause for me every day is Halloween. Seriously, I have no idea what to wear and one of our friends wants to have party. Oh, ya know what I could do? I met my partner around Halloween (15 years ago) and she was dressed as a sexy taxi driver. I wonder how bad it would go if I dressed as the sexy taxi driver this year.

Here's what I'm wearing today. Based on this picture, how stereotypically gay am I?

Wow - you are so absolutely woman, but if I'm honest I wouldn't like to meet you if my presence caused that expression! Definitely an assertive woman.

This was the outfit I wore yesterday evening to a meal with some Trans friends. I love this dress - it was the first decent evening dress I bought in May last year. It's had a few outings...

I’m still working on the “smiling more” thing.

I give a 9 out 10 on the definitely gay scale.

You look good, but you're not wrong. Some brighter colors would really pop on that outfit. Maybe a brighter blouse?

Hugs!

It's been touched on in another thread, the perception that the folks who scream loudest in favor of free speech are also the loudest in wanting to stifle the freedom of people not like themselves.

I wonder if the LGBTQI+ umbrella should be split? Create separate entities for LGB and TQI+ folk?    I have no doubt that some cis het people probably think that sexuality and gender identity are the same thing, for whatever the reason, not necessarily willful ignorance. It would be natural for such people to observe that both LGB and T folk are under the same umbrella, so they must be the same, right?   Just as (and I know I'm making some pretty big assumptions in this post) some cis gay folk would think that the LBGTQI+ umbrella is pie - give trans people a slice, and somehow, they will miss out. Just like cis het folk might also think that their lives are somehow being diminished by allowing trans people to have basic human rights.

Suppressing your emotions because you’re afraid of them can be bad for your physical and mental health. Here’s what to do instead. When a toddler feels a “big” emotion, like anger or sadness, they tend to have a big tantrum on the floor. And these tantrums can be a lot to observe, full of thrashing, screaming, and tears. But a child reacts like this because the emotion they’re feeling is uncomfortable, maybe even painful.   Of course, as adults, we feel emotions too, and those feelings can be just as overwhelming, uncomfortable, or even painful as they were when we were children, even if we don’t let ourselves react in such a big way. But, sometimes, in our attempts to not give in to our emotions, we go too far: we run from them or suppress them — even if that harms us in the long run. Although there are many reasons we might suppress our emotions, one of them is that we are afraid of our emotions. Fear of emotions is called “animotophobia. It is not an official term in the DSM-5-TR. Still, fearing your emotions can have a significant impact on your well-being.

@KaitSo glad you are here. It's never too late to talk to your doctor. bI was 68 before I stopped lying to myself and talked to my doctor. He or she might be able to help. It may be easier to find an endocrinologist you specializes or a health care group who specializes. You might also seek out a therapist who specializes to help with HRT resources. Psychology Today can help find therapists who specialize. Glad you are here. WELCOME.

Good morning, everyone!   Coffee is flowing so my brain is beginning to function.    We've been busy caring for aging family members and trying to get the house open now that the weather is getting warmer. I've been working on getting the pool open and cleaned. It's almost ready for salt and starting up the heater. We may be swimming by next week.   But, it's raining here today so I guess I'll be stuck working inside.   Have a wonderful and safe, day!!

I had that same outcome from my first colonoscopy years ago. It just triggered more frequent colonoscopies for a period of time. Hopefully, that will be the same plan for you.
    • Birdie
Biopsies came back mostly clear except one, one polyp came back with abnormal cell growth (pre-cancerous). It was completely removed during the colonoscopy so I don't know yet if further action needs to be taken.
