@Elizabeth Starthat is a fantastic combination. You do look great, and I'm glad your partner expressed positive feelings about your look this morning.

Best wishes, stay positive, and safe,

I’m wearing this dress again today. This time with a shrug and high heel boots. I’m in a pretty good mood today. My partner gave me a much appreciated compliment on my outfit this morning.

That's a wonderful dress which flatters you and goes with your hair. The shrug compliments it. I have a similar one that I wore with a dress on my first ever time out as Niamh in public, so it means a lot to me.

Add a belt or long necklace (with pendant at or slightly below the dress waist) with color that stands out from the dress but not "screaming", and it will have younger look

I had to run some errands today for work stuff- getting permits, licenses etc.  I've discovered boobs have power. lol. Doors being opened, two different people rushed to help me vs letting their coworker etc etc.  One was a young man the other a woman (who my gay-dar was going off on)   She was very flirty while helping me.  I think this was $$ well spent. haha

I absolutely love this dress. I'm so sad that I will only be able to wear it a few more times before fall weather hits hard.

I wore a sweater and a pair of tan pants, a combination I haven't worn in a year, to a rotary club meeting, to which I invited myself. They were all young business professionals, and my long hair definitely stood out!  I introduced myself and talked about my background, and some of my connections with friends who have been affiliated with Rotary, and my interest in the organization.

The guest speaker was Mayor Anne who was supposed to give a state of the city address and she was late. Someone asked tongue in cheek if any of the guests were actually the Mayor, and someone else looked at me, suggesting that any second now I would pull off the disguise and reveal my identity. HaHa.

They started off the meeting before Mayor Anne arrived with a warm up exercise called Prides and Rats, something you did you were proud of that week and something that maybe went south. One guy said he grew up in the 70's and was proud of his long shoulder length hair, but was now obviously bald. Then said something about being jealous of my hair! Actually, I was kind of flattered, because it means I've made quite a bit of progress over the past 8 months, to the point where people are struggling with what sort of box to put me in. One day at a time.

Next week I have an interview with the local school district for a job as a substitute bus driver. I shall be very interested in their reaction.

Looking really nice there Bri! I might have to reevaluate my stance on getting my chest done.

They will get in the way of your workouts for about 4-6 weeks though...;) No lifting more than 5-10lbs for that long

That's what I'm dealing with NOW. Though I've already blown it because my carry-on weighs more than that by about, oh, 35 pounds. I can take the occasional break.

Hugs!

It was cool enough this morning to fire up the oven.

Nice fresh bread for breakfast.

Yum! No bread at any store can compare to even the simplest homemade. It's been too long, I should get back into breadmaking again.

After 3 weeks of impatiently waiting, the custom dress I ordered showed up. I'm really impressed with the quality of the material used.

The style of the dress (A-Line) is perfect for you. You will probably hate me for saying this, but that particular subject matter on that dress might have looked better in black (which I know you like)! I love seeing you in other colours - like in this dress, but I just associate skulls with black flags!

I agree. It probably would look better in black. I'm on a mission to have more color in my life.?

It does look good on you.

I tended to avoid colors in my guy days.  Now I like a bit of color.

Coming out was quite liberating for me.

Love it @Elizabeth Star! That looks really good on you!

For myself today I'm wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt from my "heavy days," so it's basically a tent. Also, you get used to a certain lightness in female fabrics? This shirt has none of that. It's like wearing a blanket.

Hugs!

I always loved big colors, so the late-80's/early-90's were great for me. Then the trend passed and I felt I needed to stick with drab. ☹️ My lady wardrobe definitely has more color, though. ?

Anyone near Chicago want to have coffee do a little thrift shopping on Oct 18th? I get in around 1pm and have the whole afternoon/evening free. Heading up to Wilmette for electrolysis on the 19th.

Don't expect to be near Chicago anytime soon.

Had to get a replacement burner for my stove since one blew up on me.

Then I went to the Target (in another city - we don't have that kind of thing here) to return a pair of shoes that ended up being not the size I ordered.   At that point I didn't want to keep fooling around with the internet anymore.

Turned out they didn't have what I wanted at the store, but I did get a refund.

I went home and ordered a more expensive pair from someone else.   Hope that works out better.

I just gots big feets.

Tension is not a well-understood psychological state. It can be both positive and negative, much like stress itself. A 2015 research paper on the theoretical framework of tension notes it's an anticipatory emotional state which tends to be associated with: conflict.

I'd love to have a dinner party with Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Voltaire, and Ayn Rand.  Would definitely be an interesting time.

In the forward I learn that transgenderism is bad, and somewhere else that transgender ideology is bad.  I have not yet read a definition of either in the document.  I assume they are the same.  I know Focus on a Family has a definition of transgenderism on their website, or did, but I am not sure this is the same as that.  I might agree that transgenderism is bad if they use a definition I condemn (e.g. transgenderism means you always pour ketchup in your shoes before you put them on - I could not agree to that).  Is someone who believes in transgenderism, whatever it is, a transgenderist? I never see that term.  There may be other definitions out there, but I don't think there is an Official Definition that we all agree to.

Crazy fact, was gonna go to the school where this went down at before I moved, have a lot of friends there. I know at least one of my friends met the guy on one occasion, not knowing who it was.

They are thinking of Loudon.  The problem there was the girls were not protected from a known predator, who was moved from one school to another instead being effectively disciplined.  Outlaw school administrators? <sarc>

How ironic.  I agree with the governor "“You cannot change your gender; you cannot pick your gender…there is a confused group of people that somehow think you can,”    - we are what we are, we are fighting the fact we CANNOT change our gender, which we did not pick.  Many if not all of us would not have picked a trans condition and have sought to evade, deny or move out or resolve it anyway we can.  Those who are confused on this issue are not trans folk.  They want us to change our gender but they deny we can.  Confusion.

@FinnyFinsterHH no one can satisfy your questions about what will the future hold. But I can advise you to slow your mind down as much as you're able. Take it slow and one moment at a time. This advice goes beyond the practical reality that that's truly all you can do - further, try to enjoy each moment. It's clear you have a lot of aspirations regarding transition. But it's best to try to accept the bounds of your life circumstances at present because if you develop worries or even resentments about them, that will only make you bitter and more anxious. Instead, try to focus on anything you find affirming. Practice positive self-talk and give yourself affirmations too. Try to let go of expectations of your family members - they can only deal with change to the capacity they're able due to their own life conditions. Allow them grace as you wish they would allow you. Practice patience.   Try this exercise - read through your post and make one list of the positive developments and another of things you cannot control (including the future). If you have a sense of spirituality, offer the second list as a sacrifice to however you understand a higher power - leave it in their hands. If you're not spiritual, then offer it up to hope. Then throw that list away. Keep the list of positives and leave some room on it because guaranteed you'll have more and more to add. Look forward to that, but don't let your mind think it can rush things. Try to enjoy the ride.

I still have not read much of this.  Very little of this document pertains to trans folk.  Some of the statements are more than problematic concerning trans folk.   It certainly was not written just to get us.   " those with gender dysphoria should be expelled from military service."  and "Reverse policies that allow transgender individuals to serve in the military. Gender dysphoria is incompatible with the demands of military service,"  https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_CHAPTER-04.pdf are two lines out of hundreds if not thousands regarding the Department of Defense, targeting trans folk in an almost off-hand manner.    So if a fighter pilot, say, or a ship's captain, highly experienced and trained at enormous expense, is determined to be transgender (method unknown) the US loses someone badly needed due to the personnel shortage who is ready, willing and able to perform their duties.  Many trans folk have served well and transitioned later.  I don't think this point is well thought out.    A number of policy recommendations I would disagree with.  I am not sure there is a method to discuss those with the authors; I am attempting to find out.  I have good conservative creds.    They are fully intending to implement this, regardless of who the president is, as long as that president is conservative. It is not Trump centered.  I don't think he had anything to do with it.
