Loving all the autumn looks, friends! ?☺️

Here in South Florida, autumn means it's in the mid to high 80s occasionally, lol. I love the heat, though.

I came out last week at a thrift shop where I'm the assistant manager.  Saturdays are our busiest day.  This is what I wore today.  It felt so good to just be myself at work!

Sorry… not sure how that last pic got in the post… not intended. It was from the website that I bought the dress from. It can be removed @Jackie C.

This one is for you Emily

You look comfortable @Becoming Diana in that photo.  I see your name tag has Diana on it too!  I hope it was a good experience for you and that you enjoy more of them.

I so love seeing everyone's style.  There's a sense of happiness in these pictures.

I really liked my outfit today.  In my business, I can dress like this and some people still call me bro, but one fan mentioned my transition to a friend of mine.  At one point he came up to the stage and said to me "I see you...and you're beautiful".  It was really affirming.  I'm not exactly out at work, but I'm not doing much to hide it.  It's weird transitioning in such a visible occupation.  It could be a bit disruptive when I go full time...we'll see.SFS-01.jpeg.3887f0d66ed7e6dfaebda2d23d1e37c2.jpeg

That's FANTASTIC. Especially at work. I know for a fact that I would have killed someone by now if I was still suppressing myself in that kind of environment.

Some people are just oblivious. Those are obviously girl hips. Then again, I think we all get misgendered sometimes. So long as there's no malice in it, right?

Kudos to the fan who saw the real you though. That's amazing!

Hugs!

How? How can anyone call you bro? Well OK, maybe if you have a deep seeded history with them and they're just way too close to see the obvious but, but.....

If people have known you a long time, they still see you as who they knew you as.  They just didn't know all of you.  Perhaps over time they will see it.

@Becoming Diana You look great.  That smile is perhaps always the best part of anyones wardrobe!  You have a dream job for me.  I spent a great deal of time at thrift stores as i found my path.  I was able to find a style in my size without spending a fortune.

Hugs,

It was a fabulous day.  One lady told me i look very fetching.  One older man still called me "Sir."  But otherwise nobody else did.  Maybe my outfit was feminine enough to at least confuse them into not knowing what to call me so they didn't use any gender marker at all.

I had an anxiety attack at work two weeks ago from customers calling me Sir.  That's when I knew I had to come out.

Thank you!  I have to admit much of my wardrobe has come from that shop.  It has been a real  boon.

No new outfit for me today but I did get my hair done. I just my stylist do whatever she wants. I love it!

No shame in buying clothes at a thrift shop I do it all the time and have for years.

I can afford to buy new clothes but I just can't justify spending crazy money on clothes.

I love clothes shopping and to me its the thrill of the hunt plus you never know what you will find.

It's so great to think I still look like such a dude, then have others say "no you don't".  I appreciate the comments a lot.  It's so true, the people who have known me the longest have the hardest time seeing it...including myself sometimes.

Great hair Liz, wish I had a house-call-hairdresser.

Wish someone hadn't stolen my lady's P coat, that is classy.

And I wish Diana's thrift shop was in my neighborhood...I would visit often.

I agree 100%.  It's such fun to poke around and hopefully find the perfect piece!

@Ann W you look great in that photo.  I think there will be those that see you as a guy because there just aren't many women guitarists, and androgyny is not uncommon in the music business.  Personally, I love your style!   Rock on!!

Diana, you look great.
This picture just made a connection… I’ve seen it before, and then I double checked, sure enough I follow you on Twitter. My account is @MmindyMoore and is locked because I’m not out publicly just yet. This means you can’t see my tweets until you make a follow request.

Best wishes, stay positive, and safe.

Oh, another comment.   I am a conservative evangelical with strong Republican leanings. So is my wife, my friends, my family. I disagree with a good amount of what the Republicans are doing, but there it is.  I understand the mindset, I think, a lot better than those who are outside it do.   When you insult Republicans you insult me, my friends, my family.   People like me can struggle with trans issues.   Please consider that in posting.

I found this as well. No playacting, they just appear: the finger waggle wave; bracing my elbow on my other arm that's folded across my chest, wrist in the air half-cocked; walking a bit more fiercely... All that. My wife thought I was mocking her at one point!

I find my lack of time to read the thing frustrating, and I will not really comment until I have read it.  This is a wholly inadequate response.   1.  I think there are some legitimate concern.   2. Thoroughly discussing this will consume many threads.   3. I disagree partially with @MaeBe but there is partial agreement.   4. The context includes what is happening in society that the authors are observing.  It is not an isolated document.   5. Trump, if elected, is as likely to spend his energies going after political opponents as he is to implementing something like this.    6. I reject critical theory, which is based on Marxism.  Marxism has never worked and never will.  Critical theory has problems which would need time to go into, which I do not have.   7. There are groups who have declared war on the nuclear family as problematically patriarchal, and a lot of other terms. They are easy to find on the internet.  This document is reacting to that (see #4 above).   8.  Much of this would have to be legislated, and this is a policy documented.  Implementation would  be most likely different, but that does not mean criticism is unwarranted.

Sort of bracing myself for flipping, because I am wearing f and of course I wear f and it is natural to wear f and what else would I wear?  The  novelty is long gone out on this.  I wore a bra most of yesterday but we had a Zoom call and I took the bra off because I was concerned about the straps showing.  I missed it.    My body is saying "I am female!  Treat me that way!"   In the past it has screamed about this activity that  I have done to it.

Finally I  am back online   I had to use the help of the contact form (not proud  of that, I always feel embarrassed and shy about contacting people), but here I am   missed all of you

I'm not happy to admit this, but I usually scream or break things.   Breaking things became a bit of a no no, because It was always a cd or something I liked and it got very expensive to replace stuff

Probably amusement parks. I've never been to one sadly, but I think I could talk for an hour about them without any problem

The name "Mississippi" comes from the Anishinabe tribe of Native Americans; the word means "Father of Waters."
