Well I tested POSITIVE for COVID-19 12/5/2020

Day one testing Positive for COVID-19. Woke up at 03:15AM with a 99.5 fever and a low grade headache. Took two Aleve tabs with a big glass of water went back to bed, and slept to 10:00AM. No fever but the headache is still low grade with pressure behind my eyes. I kept busy in the shop tinkering, and watching College Football. When I start to feel the headache coming back it more Aleve. This evening sitting in my chair I started to shiver, no fever, so I covered up and fixed a hot green tea. My wife and I already sleep in separate bedrooms and use separate bathrooms. So now we're wiping down all common touch surfaces and wearing mask when we're in the same room.

It's going to be an interesting ride. I'm as healthy as I've ever been and don't have any worries about my situation. My wife on the other hand is more of a risk. I'll post updates.

Plenty of rest, water and vitamin D dear. Healthy or not, this virus is not to be messed with. Hopefully your symptoms will stay mild and your wife will stay healthy. Fingers crossed.

Good morning it's Day Two of my COVID-19

When I first woke up my throat was scratchy, my low grade headache is just pressure behind my eyes. First out of bed and my temple temperature was 100.4 and I was cold. Completed my morning rituals for a weekend and got dressed. Leggings, Oversized Hoodie. Made Coffee, sorted out my daily meds into two different pill boxes, one is AM-PM the other is Early Evening.  My new temperature is 98.6 and the headache is subsiding.  Better Living Through Chemistry aka Medications.

If the morning goes well, I'll probably hang out in the shop and tinker around. My Suzie (wife) use to hate when I spent all my time in the shop and not with her. Now that the "CDC Living with a  COVID-19 Person" recommends we isolate ourselves form one another as much as possible, she's okay with me hiding in my hole. Yes my shop was my hiding spot.

Hugs,

Thank you @Jackie C.and @Charlize

I gave up carbonated soda (POP) in 2007 as part of a weight loss lifestyle change, and water is my primary liquid intake now. My daily vitamin regimen is high in D-3 , Calcium + Mangnesium and Zink (not to be confused with how my mother pronounced Sink)

I'm sorry to hear that, Mindy.  I hope your symptoms don't get (much) worse and this blows over without too much difficulty.  Only a small percentage of otherwise healthy folks get the "full Monty" of Covid symptoms.  You should consider getting tested and also let your doctor know what's up.  Feel better soon, hon.

Thank you @Carolyn Mariesince I was exhibiting symptoms, the fire department public service officer tested me yesterday, and it came back positive. My wife will be tested Tuesday. I'm in very good shape for a 64 year old and have a positive attitude about this. I'll be in contact with my primary care doctor tomorrow morning. Suzie and I are following the CDC guidelines for sharing a household with a Positive COVID-19 test.

I told my wife if the worst thing that comes out of this is I drop my weight below 200 lbs in the 10 to 14 days of quarantine. I'll be okay with it. She quickly said this isn't a joking manor and definitely not a good weight loss program.

She loves me so much,

I’m so sorry you’ve come down with this @Mmindy. I hope you get over this fast and these headaches are soon relieved. I also hope there is good news for your wife in this. I know the emotional aspect of this can be as difficult as the physical. Hang in there and know you have a lot of people here thinking and praying for you.

Take Care my Friend,

My goodness, please keep us dated with this, we are all rooting for you. Just, at a little distance! A long time older friend did pass due in part to COVID-19 though his health was not good.

I’m classed as at risk so I’m having to keep myself very much to myself. So far, so good, but my thoughts will be with you @Mmindy do take care.

Good morning and welcome to Day 3 of my COVID-19 experience.

Because I spent yesterday lounging around like a sick person in a pandemic, I woke up a 02:00 wide awake.

My headaches have subsided, my throat is scratchy but not raw. I have an occasional cough or have to clear my throat of a small amount of Phlegm. My temperature has been running 98.9 to 99.1 which is high for me as I normally run a 97.1 with our home temple scan thermometer.

The phone call to the Doctor was good, and reassuring. They said I should listen to my body, as long as I feel like it's a mild Cold or Sore Throat. I should keep self medicating, and add a few over the counter supplements to the ones I'm already taking. (listed below) Continue to drink plenty of water, maintain my normal diet and there's nothing wrong with good old fashion Chicken Soup. If my chest starts to feel congested then we'll have to look at other respiratory treatments. Overall I feel like I have a mild cold, minus the body aches.

My wife Suzie and I are still following the CDC recommendations for sharing a COVID-19 household. She is not exhibiting any symptoms as of yet.

Over the counter Supplements.

I’m already taking these. Aspirin <rule 13>

Multivitamin 50+

Vitamin D3 2,000 IU

2 Red Yeast Rice <rule 13>

2 Fish Oil <rule 13>

<rule 13> Omega-3

2 Glucosamine Chondroitin

3 Calcium + Magnesium Zink with D3

1 Biotin <rule 13>

1 B12 <rule 13>

Aleve to manage headache

ZICAM Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs

Doctor wants me to add these. Vitamin C <rule 13> 2 X daily

Quercetin <rule 13> 2 X daily

Pepcid or Samotiding <rule 13> 2 X daily

Melatonin <rule 13> at bedtime.

Hugs for you all and thank you for the well wishes,

Mindy???

I'm glad you're not getting worse. I have to remind you though, we can't list dosages of OTC drugs (Rule #13). It's a little silly here and I admit that, but if we let this slide next it's somebody's HRT doses and before you know it everybody is doing hard drugs in a back alley off each other's naked buttocks. Can you even IMAGINE the mess?

Hope you feel better soon sweetie. Take care of yourself!

@JaniI come from a long line of Jokers. My grandfather was note to work for weeks just to set someone up for a joke. My father was the same, and loved to share his funny take on life with those around him. As a teenager fresh out of high school I worked on skits with a regional rodeo clown. I love to look at life with a positive happy by choice lifestyle.

@Petra JaneI have a life long friend in the hospital since Nov. 17th. Like you I have several issues that put me in the at risk group. I'm type II diabetic, have a heart condition, and one kidney. (I gave my spare to a friend) The most important thing for my health is that I've been actively working on my physical conditioning to drop my weight below 200 lbs. You know working on my girly figure...

@Susan Rand @ShayThank you for the well wishes, I'm in a good mood, and mindset. I'm taking my situation seriously and staying informed.

Good Morning @Jackie C.Thank you for the well wishes, and I'm cool with Rule #13. Feel free to edit those out if you haven't done so already. The rules are the rules and I don't mind being reminded of them.

Sorry to hear about your friend Petra. I've lost a few people and their being older didn't make it any more acceptable.

Sorry you're going through this Mindy. Wife and I had it two months ago. She had less symptoms, but hers lasted longer. I was super tired and slept a lot. Didn't have a thermometer, but I was definitely feverish. I'm also diabetic.

Get plenty of rest and follow the doctor's recommendations. Will be praying for you.

Mike

@MmindyI’ve just returned to work after dealing with the virus for two weeks. I really only suffered from the chills and aches. I had a few days where I felt good and then it would rear it’s ugly head again. My worst day was a week ago. I started to worry that it wouldn’t go away and then it did. I’m still tired though and my return to exercise has been tough. Be patient and don’t get frustrated when it hits hard after a good day. Good luck and I’m sending love your way.

Thank you @KayC>HUGS<

Day 5 of my COVID-19 experience.

Yesterday was my sickest day, and I spent it in my dark bedroom lounging like a sick person. I also took a 5 hour nap in the middle of the day. Sore scratchy throat, sinuses burning, and phlegm production, and NO FEVER. I'm still eating normal meals with good taste, and smell. My Suzie also tested POSITIVE for COVID-19 today. We have a great family and friends network picking up grocery and pharmacy items for us.

Today, I still have the head cold thing going on, but feel better. NO FEVER.

Advice from my two sisters who both survived COVID-19 Rest, drink water at every chance, eat to fuel your bodies ability to fight this thing. My baby sister (56) told me to continue taste testing dark chocolate chips to make sure I can document any loss of taste, and drink hot Cinnamon Apple Cider with Captain Morgan Rum, and extra cinnamon sprinkles to test my since of smell.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes,

Hugs?, (masked)

That sounds suspicious. You know, like an excuse to lie in bed while eating chocolate chips and drinking rum cider. I'm healthy, that sounds fantastic and I don't even drink.

I'm glad you're feeling better today. Keep taking care of yourself. I've heard that this bug can have more than one spike. Blessings of the Spider Goddess upon you.

Hugs!

In the forward I learn that transgenderism is bad, and somewhere else that transgender ideology is bad.  I have not yet read a definition of either in the document.  I assume they are the same.  I know Focus on a Family has a definition of transgenderism on their website, or did, but I am not sure this is the same as that.  I might agree that transgenderism is bad if they use a definition I condemn (e.g. transgenderism means you always pour ketchup in your shoes before you put them on - I could not agree to that).  Is someone who believes in transgenderism, whatever it is, a transgenderist? I never see that term.  There may be other definitions out there, but I don't think there is an Official Definition that we all agree to.

Crazy fact, was gonna go to the school where this went down at before I moved, have a lot of friends there. I know at least one of my friends met the guy on one occasion, not knowing who it was.

They are thinking of Loudon.  The problem there was the girls were not protected from a known predator, who was moved from one school to another instead being effectively disciplined.  Outlaw school administrators? <sarc>

How ironic.  I agree with the governor "“You cannot change your gender; you cannot pick your gender…there is a confused group of people that somehow think you can,”    - we are what we are, we are fighting the fact we CANNOT change our gender, which we did not pick.  Many if not all of us would not have picked a trans condition and have sought to evade, deny or move out or resolve it anyway we can.  Those who are confused on this issue are not trans folk.  They want us to change our gender but they deny we can.  Confusion.

@FinnyFinsterHH no one can satisfy your questions about what will the future hold. But I can advise you to slow your mind down as much as you're able. Take it slow and one moment at a time. This advice goes beyond the practical reality that that's truly all you can do - further, try to enjoy each moment. It's clear you have a lot of aspirations regarding transition. But it's best to try to accept the bounds of your life circumstances at present because if you develop worries or even resentments about them, that will only make you bitter and more anxious. Instead, try to focus on anything you find affirming. Practice positive self-talk and give yourself affirmations too. Try to let go of expectations of your family members - they can only deal with change to the capacity they're able due to their own life conditions. Allow them grace as you wish they would allow you. Practice patience.   Try this exercise - read through your post and make one list of the positive developments and another of things you cannot control (including the future). If you have a sense of spirituality, offer the second list as a sacrifice to however you understand a higher power - leave it in their hands. If you're not spiritual, then offer it up to hope. Then throw that list away. Keep the list of positives and leave some room on it because guaranteed you'll have more and more to add. Look forward to that, but don't let your mind think it can rush things. Try to enjoy the ride.

I still have not read much of this.  Very little of this document pertains to trans folk.  Some of the statements are more than problematic concerning trans folk.   It certainly was not written just to get us.   " those with gender dysphoria should be expelled from military service."  and "Reverse policies that allow transgender individuals to serve in the military. Gender dysphoria is incompatible with the demands of military service,"  https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_CHAPTER-04.pdf are two lines out of hundreds if not thousands regarding the Department of Defense, targeting trans folk in an almost off-hand manner.    So if a fighter pilot, say, or a ship's captain, highly experienced and trained at enormous expense, is determined to be transgender (method unknown) the US loses someone badly needed due to the personnel shortage who is ready, willing and able to perform their duties.  Many trans folk have served well and transitioned later.  I don't think this point is well thought out.    A number of policy recommendations I would disagree with.  I am not sure there is a method to discuss those with the authors; I am attempting to find out.  I have good conservative creds.    They are fully intending to implement this, regardless of who the president is, as long as that president is conservative. It is not Trump centered.  I don't think he had anything to do with it.

I wear a Delimira Mastectomy sleep bra with Vollence sleep rated breast forms. The form fit inside pockets so they don't touch your skin. I bought the bras on Amazon and found the forms on eBay. They were much less expensive than buying through the other sources.
