Lol, do "weareteachers" turn into wolves during full moons?  Just kidding, it was my first thought, I am in no way implying this happens or that they are not welcome to do so at their own choice.

We are born with only 2 natural fears: the fear of falling and the fear of loud sounds.

One of the most surprising fun facts about life: All other fears and phobias are learned or acquired later in life.

Baked beans are not actually baked.

In the U.K., the dish is usually stewed in sauce. On the other hand, canned baked beans are cooked through a steaming process. Bottom line? “Baked” beans are rarely ever baked.

Hmmmm…

I seem to recall them coming out of the oven with bacon and brown sugar on top.

Here they come out of the oven in a cassrole dish with onions and hot peppers, and just a bit of pork grease for flavor.  They are also usually pinto beans, not white navy beans.  Soaked for a day, then simmered for an hour before baking.  Sauce made from tomatoes, molasses, and apple cider vinegar.

Baked beans from a can aren't real baked beans to me...

I don't really do the baked beans.  I do my pintos in a crockpot (after overnight soak) with fatback, onions, hot peppers, and a few other things.  Let them "crock" most of the day, and serve with skillet cornbread.  Yummy.

That sounds like a good side to go with my wings on Saturday. Yes I know I get weird cravings. Sometimes I just want to have a bottle of Worcester sauce.

Grandma on mom's side called them "frijoles de la olla", so basically kettle beans.

Grandfather from Wales simply called them "beans" with no description beyond that.

I don't know any other way of cooking them.

There are more castles in Germany than McDonald's in the US

Germany has approximately 25,000 castles, while the United States has just over 14,000 McDonald's locations. That means that, on average, Germany has one castle for every 600 people, while the United States has one McDonald's for every 30,000 people. In other words, you're more than 50 times more likely to stumble upon a castle in Germany than you are to find a McDonald's in the United States.

I was skeptical myself at the number of castles, but

Can you count Germany’s castles?

It’s proved very difficult to put an exact figure on the number of castles in Germany, though most reputable sources have landed on a figure of between 20,000 and 25,000. The buildings stand as witnesses to Germany’s past, from the atmospheric ruins of medieval strongholds to the well-preserved fortifications that now serve as wedding venues and tourist attractions. Many of Germany’s castles are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Wartburg, which is on our list.

In an apparent quest to make things more complicated, the scientific definition of a berry excludes many fruits that are commonly called berries, such as strawberries and raspberries, and includes many unexpected foods, like bananas and tomatoes.

Scientists identify berries as a fruit that meets the following criteria:

  • Has three layers: outer skin, fleshy middle and innermost part that holds the seeds
  • Has two or more seeds
  • Develops from one flower that has one ovary

According to the scientific definition, the following are berries:

  • Bananas
  • Blueberries
  • Grapes
  • Tomatoes
  • Cranberries
  • Watermelons
  • Peppers
  • Kiwis
  • Oranges
  • Eggplants

According to this system, the items in the following list are not berries:

  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Cherries
  • Blackberries

At an average of 15 breaths per minute, we take about 400 million breaths during a lifetime. This is equivalent to about 53 million gallons of air

I do spoken word acting, and give Trans 101 talks and other public speaking.  I wear make-up for those occasions.  Sephora is easy for me to get to, and has a foundation that does a good job for me and the sales folks there are Trans Friendly.  Their eye shadow pallets are also fun to use. Another source of my foundation is Ulta which carries Dermablend that does a consistent job of my lower face and chin.   I just use good old Revlon lipsticks because I ruin them by leaving my purse in the hot car too often.

I'm not interested in makeup, jewelry or nice clothes or girly stuff.  It's made me wonder at times.   It saves some money.  If I wore a skirt it would likely  be denim.  I thought about a woman's skirt suit but nah.   Neither of my sisters are into that stuff either.  One likes peasant chic (still a 60s flower girl)  and the other - the only time she has ever worn a dress was at her wedding.  Jeans at all other times.   Jeans and t shirt here.  Content being a girl.  Weirdo. Weirda? Never mind.

@Ladypcnj Before posting links to other group's websites, PM one of the Staff (preferably an Admin) and have them check that site out.   We have specific rules here regarding age appropriateness and would need to know that the other site is in line with those rules.  We do have members here between 13 and 18 and other sites need to be safe for that age range, legally and otherwise.  Also, we are not a dating or pick-up site, not do we allow people selling things to advertise here.  As I said clear the link with a moderator or admin before posting it.  Mod's and admins do check out posts and if we find problem links we will remove them and notify the OP of a rules violation.  Go to https://www.transgenderpulse.com/community-rules to understand where we are.

I really don't think that's a good idea. The unity of the LGB and T community is historic and has been central for both groups rights. And the vast majority of people advocating for splitting the two are transphobic LGB's who are broadly condemned by the community anyway.

A bit late in updating, but I've had the draft of the official diagnosis and have (as yet unconfirmed) an endo consultation next month.   Next to arrive will be the supporting documentation for my new passport application for my correct gender.  This will then be my official ID for all the other updates - bank, tax, payroll etc.   It just feels good to to be proactive again rather than waiting for other people to move at a leisurely pace.

I like ELF brand cosmetics, I can pick them up at JC Penny.    I wear makeup everyday, but mostly just very light makeup.
