Welcome to the Care and Keeping of Your Dragon Datemate; A Step by Step Guide

Up-and-coming author Runo Degari outlines the comprehensive steps to taking care of the dragon in your life, whether they be your partner, friend, or child. So don't let the title fool you!

Let it be known that Sam bought the book out of curiosity and desperation and nothing more. He definitely didn't buy it because he wanted to know more about dragons but was too embarrassed to ask. Definitely not...

Okay, he bought it for that reason but still! His heart is in the right place!

He mentally repeated that, over and over, the entire way back home.

As soon as Sam stepped through the door, Bibi was already on him, wrapping him in an embrace that quite literally swept him off his feet. Sam didn't mind, though. Bibi's hugs were comfortable. He has to start laughing when the dragon starts pressing noisy kisses over his face, feeling the barest hint of fang that he knows won't cut. Bibi would never let it happen.

"You're late today! What did you do?" Bibi asks when they stop kissing him, the door is closed, and Sam has both feet back on the floor.

"Just..." He's blushing, he can feel his face heating up he knows, "ran some errands."

Bibi tilts their head, then points to the book Sam forgot he was holding.

"What's that?"

"Well..." Sh-t.

This is pure and utter crack, and my excuse to write something awkward and sweet. I might adapt these two into a more fleshed out work on my own, but the ideas I have are a bit too much for this site.

But, this is Sam and Bibi! Dragons exist and have recently integrated into human society, but they have their own too.

Bibi is also not their actual name. It's a nickname because Sam kept having trouble pronouncing their full name, so it was shortened to Bibi for convenience and cuteness sake.

As always, if modern media doesn't give me LGBT+ characters in every facet of a story, I'll make it myself.

Just to clarify, Bibi uses any pronouns, and switches them up based on what they're feeling that day. Sam and Bibi have a system for this too. I'll be writing that later :)

Step 1; Routines!

Routines are an important part of everyone's life, but involving your dragon in yours, and you in theirs, can make for an amazing experience for everyone!

I recommend a chore chart and calendar, where or maybe a message board where everyone can see what's happening! Better yet, make the experience into a fun game!

Sam and Bibi really already had a routine.

Bibi would wake up first, early riser that they are, and start making breakfast.

Sam would wake up when breakfast was done, drawn in by the smell of bacon and pancakes, they would eat and then go about their morning.

Bibi had a scale and skin care routine a mile long, while Sam just washed his face, put on deodorant and brushed his teeth and was done by the time Bibi was on step four.

Sam didn't have any room or want to complain, and even enjoyed helping them put on their various brands of leave in conditioner and hair mousse later.

Even if it was a little embarrassing to have to stand on a stool to do it.

Then they both went off to work; Bibi as a cook, and Sam in HR for a tech company.

Depending on how the day went, they would both be happy, one would be sad or angry, or both would be sad or angry.

Today was of the second option.

Bibi got home later than Sam, so Sam got to hear the absence of their enthusiastic "I'm home!" and hear Bibi dropping their bag by the door. How they made it sound dejected he'll never know, but that's not important right now.

Sam didn't say anything as he out his phone off to the side and greeted Bibi quietly when they stepped into the bedroom. Bibi sniffed and crawled into the bed before pressing their face into his side.

"Bad day?" Sam asked, already running a hand through his partner's hair. When he felt Bibi nod against him, followed by another sniffle, he continued. "Solutions or cuddles?"

"Cuddles..."

Sam wrapped his arms as far around Bibi as he could, and turned so that Bibi's face was pressed to his chest instead of his armpit. Bibi cradled him back, and Sam idly hummed and thought he could use a nap anyway.

But for now, he'll stay here, right where Bibi needs him.

Hi Sally, okay I'll head on over to your post and check out your makeup techniques.

Hey all,   It's been a while, but I blogged a whole series on makeup.  It's an eight-part series where I talk about my techniques.   Here is the link to Part 1:       Hopefully the blog series is helpful.

Oh, I can relate to that one Vicky, leaving lipstick in hot weather  I've lost count how many times I had to purchase new purses.

Thanks for the replies, as an admin from my own group I understand the same rules, agreed.

Any links posted would have to meet this criteria  All content posted or shared through TransPulse services must be appropriate for minors. We welcome members aged 13 to 18. As such, adult or pornographic content, nudity, underwear images, violence, gore, and other content not suitable for minors may not be posted anywhere to this service.

I do spoken word acting, and give Trans 101 talks and other public speaking.  I wear make-up for those occasions.  Sephora is easy for me to get to, and has a foundation that does a good job for me and the sales folks there are Trans Friendly.  Their eye shadow pallets are also fun to use. Another source of my foundation is Ulta which carries Dermablend that does a consistent job of my lower face and chin.   I just use good old Revlon lipsticks because I ruin them by leaving my purse in the hot car too often.

I'm not interested in makeup, jewelry or nice clothes or girly stuff.  It's made me wonder at times.   It saves some money.  If I wore a skirt it would likely  be denim.  I thought about a woman's skirt suit but nah.   Neither of my sisters are into that stuff either.  One likes peasant chic (still a 60s flower girl)  and the other - the only time she has ever worn a dress was at her wedding.  Jeans at all other times.   Jeans and t shirt here.  Content being a girl.  Weirdo. Weirda? Never mind.

@Ladypcnj Before posting links to other group's websites, PM one of the Staff (preferably an Admin) and have them check that site out.   We have specific rules here regarding age appropriateness and would need to know that the other site is in line with those rules.  We do have members here between 13 and 18 and other sites need to be safe for that age range, legally and otherwise.  Also, we are not a dating or pick-up site, not do we allow people selling things to advertise here.  As I said clear the link with a moderator or admin before posting it.  Mod's and admins do check out posts and if we find problem links we will remove them and notify the OP of a rules violation.  Go to https://www.transgenderpulse.com/community-rules to understand where we are.

I raise my hand in the group, I have a question and a suggestion... is it allowed to share other new lgbtq+ website links here?
    • Ladypcnj
Yeah, ELF is a good brand, another brand is Revlon ColorStay last 24 hours.

giggles..sounds much more comfy   I'm on 5 minute break outside n wondering if i can open my blouse..oops..maybe not ..laughs

I really don't think that's a good idea. The unity of the LGB and T community is historic and has been central for both groups rights. And the vast majority of people advocating for splitting the two are transphobic LGB's who are broadly condemned by the community anyway.
