Today is a good day.

Today I came out to a co-worker who is a friend and to my supervisor at work.  Both were very positive and supportive.  I can hardly believe I got so lucky.  This is a big hurdle for me.  I have been living dual identities one at work and one at home.  It is so good to just be me.  That was a huge weight that I have been carrying.  I wish everyone here could have such a good experience.   I know that I have many challenges ahead, but I am hopeful.

Great to hear about your positive start to social transition, Aleana.  I remember someone telling me "Think positive and you will be more likely to have a positive outcome" many years ago.  Loving and accepting yourself is really important - it will give you strength to tackle any future challenges lie ahead of you.
