Texas state department orders people to dress in accordance with their “biological gender”

If this is what they call freedom, I call it pure evil.

Ten gallon hat, 20 gallon ego, and less than two ounces of actual knowledge and understanding.  The weather and other issues affecting agriculture have not been kind to the state recently and he has to do something to fill hat and ego.

Well, there's no such thing as "biological gender", so technically no one would be out of compliance? On the other hand, to be in compliance maybe they could bring back the p*$$y hats worn in the 2017 women's march & reintroduce cod pieces which were all the rage during the Renaissance. Smh.

There is no legitimate job-related reason for this rule, so it likely violates numerous Federal laws and regulations, not to mention Constitutional violations.  Aside from that, how would employers know about their "biological gender" unless the employee stated such, or they transitioned on the job.  And in those cases, I refer back to my first sentence.

This is a sick joke, and it isn't funny.  The State of Texas is pretending they have rights that they don't have, and it will all be struck down in court; unless, of course, they go to that one particular judge in Amarillo who ruled on the abortion pill.

Exactly @Maddee. I'm biologically male and would like to see the court battle trying to prove scientifically otherwise.

My "biological sex" at birth was male, but my biological gender was female from before I was born.  If that insanity ever reaches these parts, I am going to have to defy a law like that.

Just how "bought" do they think the Supreme Court really is?  Surely even the current court would consider that unconstitutional.

I learned recently that SCOTUS is not bound by any sweeping code of ethical conduct as lower court justices are.

A new bill has been submitted to introduce oversight. This has been attempted in the past, but recent events have increased pressure for such measures.

I saw a picture of that man and he was wearing his hat inside a building.  That is not allowed for me!  Only women do not have to remove their hats inside.  I just read that 18,000 dairy cattle died in a methane explosion  in Texas and that bozo is writing regulations about who wears button down shirts!  Maybe the department of egg should worry about their own business and in the meantime take off their cowboy hats inside.

Hugs,

Yeah, it's not like there aren't actual real problems.

I remember that was a firm social rule  when I was a kid and way beyond. I don't mean to pick up on this in a trivial way, but it was, and he just shows how arbitrary dress mores are.

Before they make this rule, there have to be a set of definitions of what clothing articles belong to which gender.  Can't even say that skirts are only for women.... because kilts are a thing.

It's an amazing set of priorities the Texas government has. I can only assume they hate freedom. I've come to except that I will never go near Texas under any circumstance.

My limited experience in Texas has been - with authorities, terrible; with normal folks, fine.

But that was some years ago.  I expect to avoid it in the future.

The current persecution of trans people all across the US, not just Texas, is a smoke screen to cover up the fact that the politicians have no ideas how to actually govern.  This way, it looks like they are getting a lot done - "look at all the bills we passed" -  without having to think about economic, social or environmental policies.

It isn't just Texas. I'm starting to think that just about everywhere hates freedom. Different places attack freedom in different ways.

Personally, I would never go to California.  It may be safe to be transgender there, but I would get attacked in other ways. What lovely choices we have 🙄.  I mostly stay home in my little corner because it's the safest spot.

Sadly, it wasn't a part of the job description and requirements that a politician be good at governing.

Eyes are still on Texas to see how far the stupid can go and get.

It's not a smoke screen, cuz they ain't hiding from their shame, it's more like a nail from a nail bomb. They are getting a lot done, a lot of stupid at full extreme ludicrous speed. The only thing that matters to those politicians, is power and control, everything else can burn to the ground around them and they'll just file a disaster claim, move in to build over the ashes at discount with government aide. It's all part of a ploy to keep people preoccupied worrying about their neighbors and keep people spending off paranoia. Keeps those eyes away from the elected conartists who are literally helping each other stay in power, while passing out government contracts to friends and influencers to keep that sweet luxury jet cruising like the old days. It's the Right defending their power of authority network, they just happen to make it run on hate and barbarism. I'm surprised they haven't started forcing color patches on people to wear, damn goose steppers.

I've labored over an into-post for a month now, and after deleting message after message have come to the conclusion it's futile. I'm gender fluid? M2F/M2M (omnisexual)? Close enough for government work - an offense prosecutable to the fullest extent of the law...

Wonder if someone gets arrested or fired for wearing a shirt that buttons Right to Left instead of Left to Right? Said Cross-buttoner could hold the clothing manufacturer liable for not clearly labeling the gender of the shirt! I would say the big offenders will be females wearing L to R (Right side has buttons for legal clarification) 'men's' shirts, jackets, and vests; oh the humanity.

These government and voter enabled idiots even go so far as to prove their ignorance by putting such ill-conceived, childlike, and hateful rules and laws down in writing. If and when one of these cases goes to trial, it will be like a circus complete with ringleader (the judge) and clown-cars full of lawyers trying to sell the jury a bag full of suckers, which they may well all be.

This may be a wonderful opportunity for unisex clothing manufacturing - that'll make heads explode after their hair spontaneously bursts into flames!

Welcome, Dolly. I'm fairly new here too. Labels are to help us only when we find them useful. It's fine if you don't have a specific one or if you feel it changes. I love your point about gendered shirts and buttons (and your sense of humor). I hadn't thought about button shirts.

Fox News Poll: 86% Say Political Attacks On Trans Kids Are A Problem.

Anti-trans politics are woefully unpopular. Focusing on anti-trans legislation and political messaging may sink the GOP in 2024.

Welcome Dolly,

I like the button exchange. What if a shirt manufacture took the time to alternate the buttons and snaps all the way down the top, blouse, or shirt. I would wear one just to make a statement that I'm not Left to Right or Right to Left bound. No pun intended.

Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!
    • Ashley0616
It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well yesterday was not fun. I was getting ready to make dinner and I hear screaming and crying. I look over and my son put his foot through glass. He gashed near his Achilles tendon. Thankfully that is intact. I didn't freeze for a second. All of my military training came into play. I doctored him up and got Jett ready and myself and we headed to the ER. He is doing ok today. He says he is in pain but doesn't need Tylenol. He is a tough cookie!

Hi,   It's seems today is my trans birthday.  I'm beyond excited. Just picked up my testogel from the pharmacy. Although I naturally have doubts as I'm sure do we all, they are rapidly disappearing. Yesterday I was so nervous I kept claiming I'm not trans, despite grinning like a fool knowing I can pick up my prescription the next day. I'm shaking and on the verge of happy tears. I will put on my first sachet this eve. Thanks so much to this forum and kind words from people. This is the first forum I found when I began seriously questioning.

While the Soviet Union did not end up being the source of all evil, I believe that history has shown that Joe McCarthy generally was right. There ARE all kinds of Marxists slithering around. And if that had been dealt with firmly 75 years ago (or more) the nation wouldn't be in the shape that it's in now.    And while I generally oppose the idea of intervening in foreign affairs, the world probably would have been better off if we had taken care of issues in Russia and defeated the Bolshevik Menace back in 1919. God bless the memory of Admiral Kolchak.   Getting back to project 2025, my belief is that Republican efforts are inappropriately focused on trans folks. A minority of a minority does not wreck a nation. But it is easier to focus on trans folks because they can look like they're doing something. They don't have to address the real problems, and really they don't want to address them because they would have to address themselves.  They would also need to admit that the 50 State version of the USA cannot be saved.
