how do I apply for job in target gender?

hello

 

so I saw another gal landed a job at a clothing store n half jokingly n half kiddingly floated idea at a women's clothing store I frequent...supposedly they're hiring n have talked about it, about missy working there n knowing she's a MtF transwoman.

 

 

so I think I want to, my therapist loved the idea..I wonder a few concepts..

1. do I apply as missy with no ssn in her name or do I apply under male name n they call me missy as courtesy?

2. I'm trying to not put my male ssn with missy, but how do I get paid then?

conceptual questions like this, if anyone has ideas I'd appreciate input

If you apply for a job you will have to give them your social security card that has your male name.  You simply have veto explain your situation and chosen name and hope they accept you as you are.  The other option is to change your legal name and SS card which takes a bit of time.

I'd been trying to figure out how to get a set of papers for missy as a 2nd identity..her own state id  ssn, bank account    n credit cards  but I'm not sure it will work..  and there's a different name I plan to finish as, after missy..but your reply seems the most realistic n doable. thank you dear

update

charlize was correct..so I applied as male n told them, they knew missy wanted job..was hired..loving it..still training but rung up some sales at register today..my first sales.

What an affirming position to have…working with women as a women in a women’s clothing store. It doesn’t get too much better than that. thank you SusanR,..yes great discount..n idea was cassies..she mentioned she'd been working there n I asked why not me too? n it has Come together wonderfully.
