do you have a section for depression/ anxiety issues?

Recommended Posts

I can see along the top eating disorders, suicide, abuse etc, but what about depression and abandonment issues that come from feelings of not beings of not being allowed to be yourself?

where can I post about that.

thank you

The suicide section is not just about actual suicide but about prevention as well so for anyone who is heavily depressed, for example, that is a good place for advice.

Usually anything else has a place, "Health Issues" for instance, but don't be too afraid of getting a wrong section. If you are totally unsure please ask a member of staff but anything that is in the wrong place is usually picked up by us and moved, with relevant advice given to the poster.

When you look back at previous topics / posts you will probably find that such subjects have been covered many times before as things like depression and abandonment are not that unusual with ourselves.

thank you for the reply

still have a lot to learn I guess- I did only join yesterday after all!

also, do you have a code or a sign you use if someone is talking about sensitive topics?

for example, if I wanted to talk about something but didn't want to trigger others who could potentially have had bad experiences. you know what I mean I'm sure.

Not a code word per se, but in your opening sentence say "i want to talk about ______ here and I do not want to trigger any one."  and hit the enter key a time or two to lower it on the page.  If something is too dark and you are afraid of posting it, put it in a PM to a Staff Member and we will be happy to do one-on-one with you in a more private way.  All of our staff have been chosen on the basis of being able to converse on high stress situations.  The site in its inception was for  the prevention of any type of self harm by our members.
