MTF vulvoplasty - satisfaction with urethra function

Has anyone experienced problems with their urethra postop especially with directing the stream. I talked with a surgeon the other day who said there was a 10% chance that there would be a lifetime spraying problem.

During the first 18 months after GCS there is still going to be internal swelling that can partially obstruct the urethra. Ideally you will be having post surgery check-ups for your healing in that period where other things will be caught as well. After that period other items such as Urinary Tract Infections, and bacterial or fungal infections can inflame the urethra.  All of this will cause the spraying and needs to be treated by your Gynecologist or PCP after which, the problem should clear up.  In very rare cases a surgical revision may be performed to correct things.
