Voice Issues

More than ever now I am working on my female voice. I want it SO bad, and I know that the more I practice, the more likely I am to get it sooner. I sent a recording to my friend, asking him what he thought of what I've got so far, and he told me it sounded "like a boy impersonating a girl". He didn't mean that to be mean... He's just honest. Which is good, except that it left me like "uhgggg!" and all depressed. I'm back and working at it today though... And hopefully I'll have it in the months to come.

My goal is to have a good voice that I can feel comfortable using 24/7 before my 16th birthday on October 16.

I would show you guys some samples, but I don't know how... I can't attach them here because the files are too large. Can anyone tell me how I can get my voice files on here? Thanks!

Hi Eth,

A couple ideas:

Can you shorten your recording to meet the file size limit you can upload here at the Playground?

Do you have a website where you can store the file and then just put a link in your post?

I am thrilled that you are working so hard on your voice and am anxious to hear how you are progressing :)

Make sure you save the files as mp3 and not wav and you should be able to fit at least one here. The original sample I posted in this forum was around 20 seconds long and still left a decent amount of room in my attachment space. If you do have other files uploaded as attachments here, you can delete some under "My Controls" if there are any you don't need/want up anymore to free up room.

If that doesn't help you'll have to look for other sites to host them on. I used Megaupload.com in my other thread since it is free and doesn't have annoying popup ads or adult themed ones. However, given the lack of response in my thread after my latest post that included a megaupload link, I'm not sure if others here will use it or not. There are other free hosting sites, but I don't know of any places that'd let you put up a direct link to it for free like you can with attachments here.

It would have to be about 3 seconds long so... Nope. And no I don't have a site I can upload it to, that's what I'm asking about. Are there places I can upload it?

MediaFire and zippyshare were two that poped up. I've never uploaded a voice recording anywhere before.

Just two sites that came up in a Q/A site. Hope this helps.

There wasn't enough room to get both my male voice and my practiced voice on here, so I'm just putting the practiced one up. Tell me what you think of it please, and thanks everyone for all the help. ^^

You've got a great start. I think once you work on making your voice louder you will be in great shape.

Really? My best friend listened to it and told me I sounded like "a boy impersonating a girl" -_-

Sweetheart,

For sound, you will have to make a link from here to a free website that lets you post your sound files (typically mp3 format only). www.Muziboo.com is such a free site that I post music to and then reference the link to there. There are many sites like that.

Hope this helps sweetie

Woah! I don't know what you look like, so I can't tell if it suits your face and all that. It is certainly a unique voice, perhaps it will get louder over time, but if not, it'll just be a unique thing about you. Johnny Depp has a really really soft, quiet voice like that, too, but, his is male, and I couldn't get a TRACE of guy in that. So, yeah, a unique girl's voice, but totally one I could see in a girl, and one that I doubt will give you away as male. Men impersonating women sound like... something else, not that. They're never that high pitched. It'll get more natural and stuff with time, but you have a heck of a start already.

It sounds like a young girls voice to me, but my sister who is even older than I am has a girls' voice.

She once heard a small child run from the phone to get her mother shouting, "It's that lady that sounds like a little girl!"

When you get a little louder it might drop just a fraction but that will be just fine.

Love ya,

Sally

You really remind me of a softer spoken Maria Bamford. She has a unique voice and I think yours will be much the same when you get the volume up. Great thing about this though, can only compare you to a female voice... because thats what it sounds like! Great job!

Lol. And, yeah, if it drops that's no biggie. It's not like you don't have leeway.

Sounds good! Just like everyone said, just practice getting louder.

My voice is kind of neutral, except when I'm asking a question to a stranger (tends to get higher pitched LOL).

Usually when I'm talking on the phone I supposedly sound just like my mom <_<

But really, sounds great!

Sounds great and female. Just to be sure I tried putting a male face to that voice and it didn’t

connect. Making it louder might help. There are people with naturally quiet voices.

Your phrasing and the way you change the pitch of your voice sounds completely female to me. 100%, no question at all. The only thing is that it sounds like you're whispering. I don't know much about the vocal training all you ladies are talking about, so maybe you'll get louder later. You'd be grand in a library though! ;)

That does get you the 'starting point' for cup size, but manufacturers, style, breast shape, etc... will effect the results.    Step one is of course finding the proper band fit, then figuring out the approximate cup size with the calculations. Of course you need to try on a few styles after that in different cup sizes close to your measured result until you get the perfect fit.    I have bras in a DD that fit just like my bras in DDD both from Torrid but different styles.    I have some DDD's that fit awesome and some that are a bit loose, but I measure a 46G. It's not wonder that 80% of women are wearing them wrong bra.

I firmly believe I drank entirely to much for about 25 years. Got drunk every day. This was my coping mechanism to keep hiding deep inside that I was a woman. I miss a lot of signs over the years. Now I drink mabye 1 or 2 beers a day don't even get a buzz anymore. totally accept myself and on regret is that I hide that part of my self which  truly makes me happy being violet 💜. I wasted a lot of time before  being self destructive and had no clue I was just hiding th real me

Well it not morning and I haven’t been on her for a while but it’s nice to be back.  Did some catching up on everyone.  I do have a question, how is Toronto Canada for a get away? Is it a safe and friendly area for us to go.  The wife and I are looking for some where to go to allow me to be my true self.     thanks in advance

Hey, everyone. my life is going down the tubes. at least I think. So, today. A customer called about his car, I told him that the oil change was done. The parts to fix the check engine light are ordered. He can come and get it. For the weekend if he wants. Customer says I didn't want an oil change. it was check the engine light and check for an oil leak. Checking the work order says oil change. The boss wrote the vehicle up. checking with the customer on services wanted.   Being that I wrote down the appointment in the book. and clearly states oil leak. She is complaining because she can't read my small ish writing. It seems she read oil and assumed it as an oil change. It seems like she is blaming me.  She wound up going home because she was too upset. She is stressing about an eye problem she has, she has to get eye surgery it seems she has a tear in her eye.    I feel that I am short for this job. because of the BS they are blaming me on. Plus I am still upset about the trust issue. If either one of the bosses start their Shite tomorrow. I am walking out.

"I love you so much,"  Lois said.  They met in the driveway. "I could not live without you." "Neither could I." "What are we going to do?" "Find another counselor?" "No. I think we need to solve this ourselves." "Do you think we can?" "I don't know.  But what I know is that I don't want to go through that again.  I think we have to hope we can find a solution." "Otherwise, despair." "Yeah.   Truce?" "Okay,  truce." And they hugged.   "When we know what we want we can figure out how to get there."   That began six years of angry battles, with Odie insisted he could dress as he pleased and Lois insisting it did not please her at all.  He told her she was not going to control him and she replied that she still had rights as a wife to a husband. Neither was willing to give in, neither was willing to quit, and their heated arguments ended in hugs and more.   They went to a Crossdressers' Club, where they hoped to meet other couples with the same problems, the same conflicts, and the same answers, if anyone had any.  It took them four tries before they settled on a group that they were both willing to participate in.  This was four couples their own age, each with a cross dressing husband and a wife who was dealing with it.  They met monthly.  It was led by a 'mediator' who wanted people to express how they felt about the situation.  Odie and Lois, as newcomers, got the floor, and the meeting was finally dismissed at 1:30 in the morning - it was supposed to be over at 10 - and everyone knew how they felt about the situation.   There was silence in the car on the way home.   "We aren't the only ones dealing with this." Odie finally said.   "Who would have thought that?  You are right."   "Somebody out there has a solution." "I hope you are right."   "I hope in hope, not in despair."   "That's my Odie."

The counseling session was heated, if you could call it a counseling session.  Sometimes Lois felt he was on Odie's side, and sometimes on hers.  When he was on her side, Odie got defensive. She found herself being defensive when it seemed they were ganging up on each other.   "This is not working," Lois said angrily, and walked out.  "Never again. I want my husband back. Dr. Smith you are complicit in this."   "What?" said Odie.   The counselor looked at him.  "You will have to learn some listening skills."   "That is it? Listening skills?  You just destroyed my marriage, and you told me I need to learn listening skills?"   Dr. Smith said calmly,"I think you both need to cool off."   Odie looked at him and walked out, saying "And you call yourself a counselor."   "Wait a minute."   "No."
