Banishing My Facial Hair

The more time that goes by the more difficulty I have going out in public dressed as a guy. It's like I've been exposed to all sorts of exotic colors and wonderful patterns but when I wake up I got to go back to black and white and fight my way through the day. Sorry just me mopping around on a crappy tuesday.

I guess the main reason I don't don't go outside dressed more naturally is because of my facial hair and glasses. The glasses are a easy thing to fix, but the facial hair might as well be a huge neon sign saying HEY LOOK AT ME. I hate it. Well no more, I have a consultation setup for this Friday after my therapy session and with any luck maybe I can have my first electrolysis session a few days later. Once the facial hair is gone I will feel so relieved.

It is hard to go out and appear drab.

Isn't it odd that in nature the brightest colors are on the males and since the time of the French Revolution the roles have been reversed - mankind is always smarter than nature.

Love ya,

Sally

I found my own remedy against facial hair, made my own cream before I went transgender. All natural herbs, but can't say more than that. The results are that I only have to shave around 1 to 2 times a week instead of 4 times a week. ^_^

Oh yeah

But it goes deeper then that. It's not just the drabness its the falseness. I long for the day when I can put the last of the male life to rest. I don't know I guess I'm just being impatient but the slowness of the process is wearing me down.

-jumps on bandwagon- XD XD Could you PM me that too, maybe? If you do PM all of us, you should probably use CC and just give us all the same message. Easier that way.

I have some bad facial hair problems. Thanks to my genes (Dad, if you ever read this, I hate you XD) I grow TONS of body hair, and my facial hair is coarse/almost spiky, and all my hair grows FAST. Seriously, I shave my legs, go to bed, and when I wake up there's 1/4 inch hairs on my legs already. My facial hair is growing faster than ever too now, and puberty keeps making it worse. To make things even more difficult, my skin is extremely sensitive so I can't shave as much as "regular" people let alone a transgirl who abhors facial hair and someone who has hair that grows ten times faster than it should. This doesn't stop me though, and I constantly end up with razor rash and burns and even cuts, which really is no good because then it still looks bad and obvious I grow hair there. So yeah, ANYTHING I can do to make this go away, I will try.

I tweeze or pluck my face clear, have for the last three months, haven't shaved

in all three months.Look at my avatar and that is the product of tweezing.

Once clear,it takes daily maintenance,about an hour a day,but I have the

satisfaction of no shadow, and no pain from shaving,or the dissatisfaction,

or swelling that daily shaving does. The cheeks tend to be the most painful,

and the under chin and neck the most difficult, but it is well worth it to me.

If you do send out pm's Aurea, I'd love in on it as well, that sounds awesome.

My facial hair also grows like crazy so my face never feels as smooth as I'd like it. Are there any other tips you ladies might have? ^_^

That's what I did too, long before I could afford electrolysis. The electrolysis person told me, because I asked her, that my plucking seemed to have actually helped, not hindered, the beard removal process. It did not seem to be coming in stronger after ~3 years of plucking, and I never did get any beard on my neck (so grateful for that!)

Hmmmmm. I don't know about that Sally. Mother Nature has a way of coming back at us

sooner or later and smacking us upside the head. We might think we're smarter, but we're

usually proved wrong.

Anyway, viva la France! If it wasn't for them, I might be wearing a powdererd wig and tights to

work. ;)

OMG, Angie.....

I can't imagine doing that....

Mainly because it takes me a whole evening just to do my eyebrows!

But, That's what it's all about...we all do wnatever works for us....

Me? I'm doing electrolysis....let someone else do it one at a time.......LOL!

You go, Angie.....!

I'm glad that it's working for you!

Oh, and the reason that an electrolgist will suggest you not pluck is that because of hair growth cycle (8 weeks) it will cause her to miss many hairs first time through. You will think that it's not working...

But, long term plucking does destroy a number of follicles and therefore lessens the hair on one's face!

So, Not really a bad thing!

Good luck with ever method you use!

I just got back from my 12th laser treatment, I had the lady kick the laser up to the highest setting she could and I actually smelt the hair burning. then I had her adjust the laser for the blond hair on my upper lip. The last session cleared the most up to date so I'm hoping and praying this session got rid of the last dark hairs on my chin.

Plucking facial hair didn't work for me when I first wanted to transition in my twenties I tweezed my entire face and that actually caused my beard to grow in more dense. After I started my transition I bought an epilator and used it for my first year because I did not think I could afford laser. I was on HRT while depilating but the gist of it is the epilator did not work for me all it did was cause me a nightmare of ingrown hairs and caused the laser to not work as well for the first six months. Therefore under no condition do I recommend plucking facial hair. My dermatologist told me all you do when you pluck an hair is signal to the follicle to start growing a new hair. Defeating the purpose of laser or electrolysis.

Now I would like to see this recipe of herbs to research there effects on hair growth so please PM me the list of herbs and let me see what I can figure out about them.

Thanks Ladies with Love

Well after having my first laser session all I have to say is OMG it hurts. I was only able to withstand three zaps at a time and near the end of the session my mouth was quivering in pain. For the rest of today and to a lesser extent today it feels like my face has a sun burn.

BUT for the first time in 13 years I did not have to shave my face this morning. Mind you the shadow is still there to a lesser extent but according to the technician the hair will come out in a week or so Her estimate was about 10% of my facial hair is gone. My next session (free in between) is six weeks from now to do the muzzle area and then two weeks later another session to do the next full facial hair removal session.

I'm so happy so by November I'll be nearly halfway done with laser. According to the clinics experience the initial five sessions are the average number before it goes down to just maintenance to remove the random hairs that where missed here and there. Then if I have to one or two sessions of electrolysis to get the remaining hairs that peskily grow back but are too fine to get detected by the laser anymore.

All in all my cloths shopping is done for at least the rest of the year while I cough up the money to pay for the hair removal, but it is so worth since the facial hair bothers me so much. I think it's my first major step forward. In the mean time owie!!!!! My face hurts.

Honey, the pain becomes less as time moves on and your body gets used to

the shock of being zapped. And the swelling isn't as prevelant either.

Congrats on your first major step forward into your new life.

I'm very excited about it! Thanks for the support. :D*hugs*

My technician told me the same thing. That as the hairs become less the zapping feeling that stings like heck gets less over time. And oh my god I could swear I saw smoke coming from the areas zapped. I am so glad I thought to wait until two hours before the session and shave with a unused blade to get it as close as possible to the skin.

Also anyone looking to start laser, just remember to take deep breaths. What got me through the session was that my technician was very kind and gentle with the wet towel between the zaps. During the whole thing we talked about things like shopping and her husband being in the air force and that I grew up in Bowling air force base. The big joke was that the base is considered air force but it has no air strip. lol Anyways it helped keep my mind off the pain. Don't drink caffeine for at least 10 hours before your session, take two advils (or what ever brand you prefer) and most importantly remember to take deep breaths before and after the zaps. It helps to endure the pain and keep you from passing out from the pain. I was told I have a high pain tolerance, which I would never have associated myself with, I am a complete baby when it comes to pain. I just took deep breaths between the zaps and endured because I had no choice. After the session my technician put aloe lotion on my skin and then sunblock spf30.

The best part is looking in the mirror just now I have no hair growth after 24 hours! I know hair grows in cycles but just maybe nearly all the hairs from this cycle are gone! I know the technician my fair skin and dark hair was ideal for laser treatment.

When I got home yesterday I sat around inside and watched a few movies from netflix online using my blue-ray player while I kept a damp towel on my face.

As one who had to deal with the Porn/Adult Entertainment business as commercial, taxpaying businesses on a professional level, I can say that they are in it for money and the highest percentage of their income comes from ultra conservative areas where adequate Medical and Mental Health Profession and University Science instruction on Trans issues are banned.    It makes me wonder how much porn literature is hidden behind the 13 Bibles and Bible Study guides on some people's family bookshelves.

There's the old thing of getting out and getting involved in things in the community and meeting people that way. Does your church have a food pantry? Does it have service opportunities you could plug into otherwise? You might run into someone that way.
    • Ashley0616
Well that didn't go well. She said she is intentionally single. When will I just stop thinking about putting myself out there. It really hurt but rejection and getting ghosted is just my second language apparently. The one person I have told all my dark secrets and didn't run off. At least we are friends. I'm happy only when I'm sleeping and that is it because things actually go my way from time to time. Just another wonderful day of me. SMDH!

In their minds, yes, unless it is clearly, consistently, forcefully articulated by those who represent trans people that we are not.  I'm not sure who that would be.

So, this proves that we're all  pedophiles? I suspect that the majority of pedophiles are probably cis.   Yeah, Alexander the Great was probably queer.  What does this have to do with me needing to pee?   I am so tired of this ___.  I raised 8 kids and never molested any of them - unless you count changing diapers without closing my eyes.  Yeah… so tired.   It makes me wonder what is actually on these people's minds.

Well, I told my best and only friend that I liked her and asked if I ever came across her mind, I would make her not regret it. She didn't say no or yes yet. She believes that romance is dead to her, and I understand that due to her knowing her husband for over 20 years. I deleted my dating profile on Facebook and took a screen shot to show her. She is so right for me, and I hope I can be her best decision. I have left her be so she can think about it.

Thanx!  But I am sure there is more that I don't know than what I do! But now I know about using the "@" function to alert people that you mentioned them. And today I learned how to Quote someone so my comment as a bit more context. Still so much to learn.  No sure how long I should keep replying to multiple people all in the same thread where the topic is just "Hello" I understand there are one or two other subjects in this place (besides me ... saying "hello"). I have tried looking through the forums a tiny bit and just got lost!  lol  (Then again, getting lost is kinda my super-power!)
