(Imma do this right.)

Somewhere in a city, whose citizens have long forgotten the name of, is a tavern obscurely nestled under the sidewalk off of Main. Its the sort of street you'd catch in old time flicks bent on romance and intrigue, where frequents all manner of life. A place where weekend revelers pour in from the burbs to spill beer and blood across asphalt, while rebellious youth scoff at them for their predictability from their perches of crude cement stairs, predictably exchanging how if there were but more like them, things would be different. Welcome to downtown of downtown, where every shadow has a story and every period replica gas lamp is outshone by its modern day counterpart. Down the row, a threesome of wanderers bid adieu to one within their party, warm and contentedly buzzed smiles on their faces.

After watching the pair disappear into the bustle of bodies up the street, Andre peers into the abyss of stairs leading down to his right. Cast iron rail in hand, he smiles and lets his weight swing him in a casual descent. At the bottom, he adjusts his collar and smooths a hand over his dress coat. Before pushing the brass handle, he peers once more at the number placard by the door, just to be sure. With a steady shove, the thick wooden door yields, exposing his sights to what could only be assessed as a place for men to gather and be themselves...

Deep, richly stained hard wood floors kiss the soles of his shoes across the intimate entrance hall, after which, well walked ornate carpet quiets his steps as he turns into the room proper. Dim ambiance of light and color gently flood the eyes while the din of voices are low and murmured. He slips up to the bar to gather a drink, taking in the aroma of fine cigars, decadent cologne and splashes of bourbon. Enjoying the beads of condensation running between his fingers from his glass, he meanders then, in search of a big brown leather chair to drape himself across like its a throne he's known all his life.

He flops into it most ungentlemanly and grins, "Guys night out eh?"

(Sorry Evan, couldn't resist!)

Ya just gotta put some wrought iron around that opening and a gaslight somewhere on the block ;) since its in the paragraph.

I stand corrected then <_<

I missed that. I don't always pay attention to long looking posts due to a short attention spam and feeling generally meh. But that is good imagery. I like. I like.

>.< What else would we be doing?

Yes we should

Are Milky Way chocolate stars the same thing as just a Milky Way?

You didn't see the skylight I put in yesterday? Tsk tsk Evan. I thought that I made a lot of noise :o *sigh*

These are Milky Way stars: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3057/2625696650_b9254c1489.jpg The fact that they have different faces was awesome to me as a kid.

The view in the skylight is relayed from the surface via a periscope. Those sailors were only too happy to help Lee out. ;)

imagesCAQ5SS1E.jpg It may look like an oldfashioned freight elevator, but its been outfitted with the latest in digital security ;)

Oh and uh, cough cough the corridor doesn't make a bad place to have a private talk with that cigar girl we mentioned once ...lol

JJ saunters in smoking a pipe and takes a seat at a far table, observing the room-a' la Saroyan-see "The Time of Your Life"

Removes worn leather bound book from under arm and lays it unopened on the table (ambience is everything)

Waves a casual hello to the room with pipe in hand, then signals bartender for a pint and sits back in chair with a shrewd expression in his eye

I agree toffee popcorn is the best!

I'll get the beers, cigars and cigarettes and a few lighters. Some crisps. Anything else? I guess I could get some orange juice, coca cola and that for people that don't want beer.....

We had soup and steamed rice for dinner tonight.  Simple, basic, feed-a-ton-of-people kind of food.  With strawberries for dessert!  We have a huge strawberry patch, so I spent a couple of hours this afternoon picking.  And there's some left over, which I put in the downstairs kitchenette.  Time for a late night snack!     Outside of meals, I mostly live by nibbling on fruit and a few green things.

Well, it is officially summer.  85 degrees outside the last two days, and GF is sick and irritable.  I have to curl up under heavy blankets in my nest, because she's got the AC turned down to the point I expect to see icicles growing on the ceiling.  This is what life is like when your partner is an arctic creature. I should be used to it by now, but just when I think its nice and warm, she has to freeze me.

I just can't resist.  Does all that mean that.............the bird is the word?

Well, that might be interesting.  At least since she's 24, its not like you're on the hook for expenses.

Been using the wok on the back deck a lot the last few months.  Just got another stock of udon noodles from Amazon and we are using those in the stir fry with onions, peppers and a spicy peanut sauce.  I did this often in the 90's too, but back then I was just using a standard Coleman camp stove instead of this high BTU wok burner.  I've had the burner for a couple years, but haven't been using it regularly until recently.

I’m a lefty. Learned to be a bit ambidextrous for certain tools that assume right handedness like scissors, but couldn’t write with my right hand to save my life.

Tangent, adjacent, opposite...  It's still rock n' roll to me.  I don't know about the "in god we trust" part of the money, but I like the lady with the scale.  And then I look left at the Indian statue on my mantel of Guanyin feeding a drop of liquid to the dragon at her feet.  In god we trust?  The lady with the scale?  Maybe this is too binary.  And then on the other side of Guanyin is that kind of pelican wood bird that sits two feet tall that I hauled back from South America through the Panama canal.  The beak broke in 1998 and I carefully saved the pieces (as I usually do) and attached them back about a decade ago.  I used a drill to make a small hole and then put a finish nail in there.  Then a hole on those two pieces that needed to be attached.  Upper and Lower beak.  There is still a seam showing.  I could cover that up, but the beak is a bright yellow and well, it's better with all the pieces in place and I don't mind seeing the crack.  I guess that is the tangent and the other two are the opposite and adjacent. -money  Why don't coders always code the "-" action in their search fields?  It's not that difficult!

@April Marie Yes, it's something to shop for at least for 6-8 weeks.

Definitely points to learn and keep in mind.  A bunch of stuff I had put in mental "cold storage" thawed out a bit there and ready again to run through my mill.  As said, a bit long and as usual from her a tad bit challenging.  Overall I see it and can use it as a working hypothesis.
