Sometimes it is just so miraculous and hard to believe just how much love and support there is here

And I find myself being nicer to everyone I meet because it has become a habit to respect people and see them as people too!

The circle of love ripples out. Maybe someday it will reach far enough to change the world!

JJ

JJ - we are changing the world - we start by changing our own internal world then migrate to those we love. And if those we love truly love us as well, we then have made that step toward having understanding. It isn't a perfect system but it is all we have. And it is based so fundamentally on love, it cannot fail.

Ripples, JJ - ripples on the pond of human interaction. Complicated, unknowable results, but the only way - our way.

So hug everyone you know. Tell them a bit about yourself- and listen, really listen to what they say about themselves.

You taught me that!

Acceptance, forgiveness and love.

Listening and then giving back. Support.

I learned them all here. And more.

Well, finished the weed spraying! *Happy Dance*

Yea! Now you can shower off an get all girly again!

And your friends won't have to worry about you and the nasty spray.

Donna Jean has conditioned us to be concerned about those doing yard/property work.

They don't have Amish boys there do they? But what about those crazy tourists??

This was on a different thread...... Did someone say DOS ????!!!!

xcopy C:\DOS\*.* A: /s /v /h

Ahh, 360k soft-sectored diskettes

What headaches and frustrations that brings back!

I have my old DOS manual in my 80s keepsakes.

And i have forgotten almost all of it. A language too long unspoken.

Do you remember when a "big" game could take a dozen disks to load?

And looked like a jerky cartoon? But it was all so exciting and new then.

And it taught us patience and perseverance. At least me.

"Space Potatoes" was one I remember. Except it preceded DOS, was one that was typed in on a Radio Shack Model III machine. Eventually got a cassette recorder for keeping programs on.

Here is another DOS related function. Can you guess or remember what it did?

Sometimes I feel like I have nothing useful to say.

Other times I think that I might but no one would really want to hear it so I don't say it.

So yesterday did turn out quite exciting. Went to the wellness center, got some things off my chest with a nice counselor, met up with a friend, ate at panda express, gave blood when we came upon a blood bus, found the "speech & hearing" clinic nearby but they said its only a "speech" clinic now, got sick in some bushes from heat exhaustion walking back to the apartment, friend was there to help me out at least, but after I got sick then I was dehydrated so I almost passed out a few times just a few blocks from my apartment and had to lie down in the grass or right inside my apartment complex because it was hard to make it that last few feet.

But then I got inside and he got me some water and we played video games and watched a movie and chatted.

And then he left and I still forgot about the androgyne meeting until maybe 11:30... a bit late.

I am very happy just to stay inside today!

Be careful with that heat exhaustion!

Once it gets you like that you are always more susceptible to it. At least that's what my Dr said years ago and it has been true for me.

It's good to give blood but perhaps not on a day that will tax your body in other ways like the heat.

I'm glad you had a good talk with a counselor and a good day except for the heat exhaustion. That could have turned tragic so take extra care okay?

Had to deal with that heat issue not too long ago. Called into work, an my boss wanted a doc's note. I'm like "so while I'm unbalanced and fading in and out of consciousness, you want me to drive to a doctor?" <_<

Yeah, I didn't see the heat exhaustion coming. My blood giving went fine in March, but I went straight back home then, and it wasn't a heat index of over 100. I was even drinking plenty of liquids this time around. The blood bus gave us cold packs, and I used one after my initial sickness, but it didn't last long in the heat. I think I might just sit next summer out.

Next time I can give blood is September. I'm hoping it'll be cooler then! And I think I'll use the "buddy system" again... just in case.

It sucks that I might be more susceptible now though. Florida is so hot... I'll just be careful. At least I know all the symptoms now. I could always go in an air conditioned building too, drink form a water fountain, etc. when I'm in the middle of campus, I got sick in the middle of campus, but I didn't start feeling faint until I was only a couple blocks from home.

I will be careful in future though, heat exhaustion is one thing, but I know heat stroke is really, really bad.

(And this is why I advise against binding in the summer in Florida or other hot location - I wasn't, I was just wearing a sports bra, a thin-ish fabric shirt, light weight cargo shorts, and sandles, and it still got me. Maybe the blood giving contributed to the heat exhaustion, but I'm not so sure. So be careful out there...)

If you have a friend who has a bloodglucose tester, extra strips, and an extra needle it might be worth testing to see if your blood sugar level is low.

Has happened to me a couple of times.

I do get low blood sugar (or I'm pretty sure I do, never did get around to testing it), but I know the symptoms of that, and it's very different. Usually I get irritable, paranoid, and claustrophobic on top of feeling sick. Worst part is if I'm feeling like that I usually don't know what's wrong with me while it's happening, so I used to rely on my family to clue me in. Though now with diet changes I don't get episodes like that very often at all.

Las' couple of days I been inactive. Las' couple of days I been feelin real crap. Overwhelmed, incompetent, unable to cope or deal, and just dead within. Somethings still make me smile, but most the time I'm either at my break point or simply using anger to avoid a meltdown. Don't wanna bring the boards down, but I got no one to talk to. Wife is more miserable than I am and I'm tired of bringing her down. Sorry to vent here, but being happy takes more effort than I can put out right now.

It is the only business anywhere that the employees are so eager to get their work assignments - all written on post-it notes!

Donna Jean is very popular on paydays as well!

Too many images - Dee Jay half covered in post-it notes surrounded by workmen and Amish boys!

I'm leaving that right where I found it.

Love ya,

Sally
