Back to the original post I have recently learned of Nora Jones, of course what girl doesn't like Come Away With Me!

I've also been queing up 311's Amber, but my downloads of the day are significantly gnarlier, Korns Freak on a Leash, and Smashing Pumpkins Bullet with Butterfly Wings. I also purchased Pixar soundtrack songs, Down to Earth and Rockin' the Suburbs. Both incredibly well suited to the animations they are attached to.

Garbage-Stupid Girl

LOL! At first I was taken aback, thinking, "is Fractured insulting someone?" It took me a few minutes, and a quick Google search, to realize that Garbage is a group, and "Stupid Girl" a song.

*Sigh* Sometimes I feel so old. <_<

Yep Garbage is classical music at this point...

800 million views on the PSY's Gangnam Style video. I compare it to the Dee Light - Groove is in the Heart Video

Since it’s December 1 it’s time to break out the Christmas music.

Starting the season off with:

“Go Tell It On The Mountain” and “No Room At The Inn” performed by the distinguishable voice of Mahalia Jackson

“Adeste Fideles” performed by the crony who else but Bing Crosby

And of course “Feliz Navidad” performed by José Feliciano

"Rescue Me" is currently on the audio stream in recognition of the recent passing of Fontella Bass.

Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the original recording.

I love how people's music choices, and they way they go about picking their favorites, gives clues about their personalities...a point I'm sure has been made earlier in this thread, heh. I'm pretty spazzy, and my ADHD leaks into my music, so I like big, loud indie groups with lots of instruments and vocals (Of Monsters and Men, Broken Social Scene, Florance and the Machine), and trance techno or pseudo-techno vocal groups (David Guetta, Imogen Heap, Gorrilaz). When I need to unwind, I put on acoustic artists like Bob Dylan or Ani Difranco, or maybe Bright Eyes. I hop around in jazz too. Charlie Parker might've been an --Censored--, but the dude was a GENIUS.

What's great is that so many artists today can do a range of styles. I can get simultaneously depressed, enlightened, and want to go out with friends and burn down the town- all off the same record. :)

What's your take on Charlie Parker?

I used to listen to Yes and particularly to the piano work of Rick Wakeman, pure genius. My favorite Yes album was Tales from Topographic Oceans. I've still got a vinyl album of that. I should get it on disk now.

Yes is magnificent. I discovered them in college when Yessongs was all the rage. Then Wakeman came out with Journey to the Center of the Earth and I went mad with it and probably drove everyone in my dorm mad with it to boot.

Today I am listening to The Stones 'Their Satanic Majesties Request' and recalling the horror on my grandmother's face when she saw the cover and the reference to Satan.

Good times.

With love and feed back,

Cissy

I've been listening to Lindsey Sterling. I wonder what that says about my personality. :)
