I just remembered another song that my producer mentioned to me - he had a relationship with this lady and when I heard her version of IMAGINE I was floored - she re-invented it and made it her own and it makes me cry to this very day and I haven't even started HRT yet... gosh I probably won't be able to stop once I do start.

Beautiful voice Sade has, thank you for sharing her with us all here.

This is a Greek dance and song called Zorba The Greek and I wanted it to share with you. At the beginning of the clip, the Acropolis is to view.

Enjoy it, Greece I love you, and soon I will come to my land (hopefully)

Me three

Getty taps into the rhythm of the code in YYZ, great tune @Tori M....

Speaking of Squire, we last saw Yes with Alan Parsons, at the Chateau Ste Michelle winery about 12 years ago, Chris was in top form that night, with Jon, Steve, Alan, and few others, it was outdoors and we were 5th row really every seat was a winner that evening....

There are just so many, but the Squire lines in Starship trooper, really resonate with me

Yes AND Parsons together from the 5th row?!!!  :noway:

When Squire takes the lead position in The Fish is an old fav.  When I first heard that I'd never heard a bass played like that. ?

Squire was a lead player and was amazing. One other underrated bass player I  think is John Entwhistle from the Who. If you really listen to, his was excellent.

A great young Australian girl, bass player i really love in the past 5-10 years is Tal Wilkenfeld.

Entwhistle had to be great to keep up with and not fade into the background when competing on stage with Moon and Townshend.

Don't know how I hadn't heard of Wilkenfeld before, just listened to a couple of her tunes on Spotify. Digging the sound.

Hei alle

Chris Squire was awesome. I saw Yes on their Fragile  tour in 1972, oddly enough they were the opening act for Black Sabbath. On the subject of great bassists, Greg Ridley, Spooky Tooth and Humble Pie fame, was so solid on laying down some really great bar band bass tracks especially with Humble Pie. Ronnie Lane was another great  bar band bassist. Laying down a great foundation is the make or break factor of a band.

And for ALL of us ladies - my favorite slide player who won the best slide player of the year 6 years running in Guitar Magazine and the retired her because they wanted someone else to win - it's a rare song I heard her do live in the 70's and loved the song like forever.

I played Peter Green's "Oh Well" at a concert in December as I portrayed Tom Petty (who also covered it) but these ladies I'd never heard of did an excellent job. Ever hear of Haim?

That Grace Potter, is just sooo cool.

And yes, we've worshiped the Wilson sisters. One gig we played at this place in N Seattle called "Parkers" was one of Heart's  launching platforms, and backstage were their autographs written on the walls, legendary !

Since we are in girl bass mode, I just admire Tina in Talking heads, she is so solid, great vocalist.

From their stellar "Remain in light" album (1980)

Oh my yes, Tal is amazing!  Wasn't a big Who fan but noticed Entwhistle mostly for being so loud!  He had some crazy speaker designs early on.  I never really excelled at 6 string; definitely no Page.  Tried bass but my fingers and hands were too small/weak and my pinkies were useless.  Then I saw little Tal... how does she do that!  Couple of new names here that I must check out.

Interesting, I never really thought of him as underrated. I've always felt he was pretty iconic. I especially love his bass work on 'Bargain'

Thank you, Susan!! It was such an amazing experience for me. I can't remember if I even talked about it on a Zoom meeting.   Here is the link to the post I made about it. And, again, thank you for helping to give me the courage to do it.

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷
