Change of subject I guess - back to the original post topic - I had some interesting news.

My therapist says I will be able to pass easily in about two months!

I am in a bit of shock. :P

Lizzy

This thread is one of the longest I have seen - wow Zabrak you hit a good one!

Whoo Hoo! How great is that, Lizzy!

I spent the weekend in the company of great friends. That was really nice.

And best of all, perhaps, I officially started hrt last thursday. It feels good to have finally made it to that milestone.

Yay!!!! congrats :D never a dull moment when you have cable lol ;p enjoy!

LOL

No need for it now - I'll just get basic cable when I move into my new place. I don't need better then that anyway(roomate was planning on getting better then basic.)

This week after jazz band rehearsal the weather was good and I got to go have my taco dinner. :)

And just before I left for rehearsl a package arrived with my new nightgowns in it. :D

I haven't had any nice clothing (women's) since I got rid of all of my wardrobe in an effort to save my marriage, so just before Valentine's Day I ordered some.

It feels so good, I can't wait to go to bed - good night!

Happy, happy, happy,

Sally

Ok, its been a good five days and I've been holding out....

I found new hairs! I no longer feel like the naked mole rat. I got em (not a lot) on the backs of my thighs, knees, and my stomach.

My new razor came. No I don't wanna use it cuz I'm lovin the hairs but I'm still excited and its very cool -even came in its own little box.

The new packer came. Yep I bought one. One word squish-y lol. But cool.

And the big'un (drumroll ) I contacted the top surgeon and talked to the office manager (because she does most of the billing) and she feels very positive about the D.I. as far as it being approved. All I'm waitin on is the rec letter and to feel enough time as passed since the last op.

I figured y'all could use good news. :D

That is great news Evan.

My good thing in life today is that my friends are healthy, do I really need anything more?

Day off yesterday - goofed around - nice! Took two naps - watched a couple of Mardi Gras parades.

Went to the Estee Lauder counter with my wife - they have a 'bonus package' promotion coming out Thursday we are both interested in, she told me about it - and tried some anti-wrinkle cream for my eyes - my wife was amazed how sales clerks don't even blink when we TS ask for help.

Another cool day in Mudville- no rain but not much sun.

Congratulations DJ, I'm happy for you.

(Sigh) My "urge" is to cry(not literally), and post and say "I take it all back, why did I post that I was happy yesterday, if I hadn't maybe this wouldn't have happened (you know, that philosophy that if you go and say you're happy something bound to crapp on it? uh huh that one)". But truthfully I should be happy that a) I'm alive and b ) I'm fine.

I just started driving my car again 3 days ago after not havin my own wheels cuz of waiting from the surgery and it

got hit by a semi today. (bout 4 hours ago) I was at a red light next to it (brilliantly on the right in the blind spot) and he decided to turn and signal for it while I couldn't see it and he couldn't see me. My car is at the car doctor.

Normally, I would work the "but I'm fine angle a little better but it means not havin therapy tomorrow which (I dunno) might translate into my top surgery getting pushed back since I didn't meet the therapists "requirements" for appts per month.

Anyway, I'm posting here to really get myself to see that the biggest part is that I'm ok.

Oh, man....Sorry to hear that, bro. That really sucks...

I'm happy you're alive, too, otherwise the forum might of got less cooler(puts in a evan-like joke). I learn from the best.

Awwww, Dang, Evan...that's awful......Oh...I so much hope that this doesn't set you back any...I know how you had your heart set and everything....I'm sorry, Hon...really, really sorry...............

But...........I am glad that YOU are ok and not hurt (except for your feelings) I wouldn't want you to be missing from here and I wouldn't you to be hurt...so, that's a good thing......you can get your car fixed....you don't fix so easy.....

So, I'm happy on that count!

It'll be ok, Hon....we'll all keep up the good energy so's that you don't get pushed back any....I want you to have what you need.........

Well Evan you're here in one piece and that's great. The nerves get shot from an accident but cars come and go and there is only one Evan J.

So cool I' wondering if you are more than on person. How could one person be so spot on. Are you a composite. Oh never mind your twin is Sally. Thought for a moment you might be one of those octuplets....Ha HA Yeah.....Mia.

Oh my Evan, I just heard. I am so glad that you are alright, I need my twin and the forums need you and we are a selfish group. The important thing is that you are OK, not that we still get to pick your brains for good advice.

I'll put a joke to this, but only because you are OK.

You should have laid down on your back on the hood and gotten your top surgery out of the way.

I know that was a terrible joke and in such poor taste, I guess everybody knows who the evil twin is now. :o

Why do you think I own an evil chair, put 2 and 2 together out there! :D

So glad you're OK, Bro,

Sally

Hi, Amanda.  Your story sounds quite familiar, though my pesky body part didn't need the attention of a urologist.  You are in good company here!

Oops.  Sorry, @AmandaJoy, I see you have already posted an introduction.

Hi, @AmandaJoy.  Welcome to Trans Pulse.  Be sure to check out the various forums and join in any threads that interest you.  We'd love to read all about you in the Introductions forum.   -----   I started programming in Dartmouth Basic in high school back in the early 1970s.  I did my degree in Computer Science.  After a brief stint in the "government flying club" (RCAF), I worked as a programmer-analyst and systems analyst for about 25 years.    I am retired now, but I still enjoy programming.  I write a lot of the code for my astrophotography observatory.

WOW HAS IT BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE UPDATED!!! Welp, I'm updating now, and it's been a lot of changes.  1. My mom is starting to come around a little (I think). She does refer to me more as her child now, and even offered to help me cut my hair so I think we're making a little progress. I'm still planning on going on T later and I'm gonna start saving up to buy trans tape (I can't wear binders because I have GERD), so hopefully the progress stays. My dad, sibling, friends, and my paternal grandparents have all been super supportive and I'm really lucky for that. My sibling also goes out of their way to introduce me as their brother and it makes me so happy :D 2. I've been socializing a lot more! Mostly on Discord, but I've made some new friends and I'm really happy about that!  3. I'm on birth control! I still need to go to the gyno but my GP got me on the depo shot and it's been working for me so far! My dysphoria has gone through a lot of ups and downs, especially around periods, but that source is pretty much gone now and I feel way better. I do have more dysphoria centered around my chest now but that's pretty easily fixed with baggy shirts most of the time.  4. I know 100% now that I'm hoping for a uterine ablation (cauterizing the uterine tissue so it doesn't grow) at some point in the future and it's likely something I'll have to save up for but from my research it's a lot less invasive and safer than a hysterectomy so I definitely recommend it if people are able to access it. I also know that after that, I want to save up for a reduction to combat the chest dysphoria, and I still like having it sometimes so I'll keep a bit of it (I'm shooting for an A cup, I'm a C cup currently).  5. I've been writing more and I've even got some ideas for art projects! I also got an Archive of Our Own account where I post my finished writing, and I'm starting a book project at my mom's urging (she said she wanted that as her Christmas present so I'm gonna try, might not get it done this year though). I haven't gotten to write much lately but I'm hoping to change that this month.  And finally, 6. I'm gonna be a college junior and I have a career path to pursue! I'm gonna be an archivist, hopefully working for a museum (not too specific on where, I just like museums).  So yeah, a lot of stuff has happened and it's been pretty good!

Around here, a culturally-appropriate gender-neutral form of address is either "dear" or "hun".  It tends to be mostly women who use those, though I did have a man address me as "dear" in a store today.    It could be startling for a come-ffrom-away to hear themselves being addressed that way, but, locally, it is considered a friendly, not particularly creepy, gender-neutral way to address someone.
