the snow is flying here (and sticking I might add).

We have lots of snow up a little further north of you.  It’s not sticking yet maybe because it’s 34°F.  Weather people say it’s going to get to 38°F so no one here is expecting anything sticking.

So far so good :) He really likes the school, too much walking around though haha

It’s nice to have family around especially at school. I had a brother one year younger who was with me throughout my school years. I sure miss those times.  Glad it’s all going well for you both.

34 here also (we are at about 400' elevation), it's piling up on the lawn and plants and all white here now as I look out the back window, but the road is just slush, not quite cold enough on the road surface.

Get ready for the next "Pineapple express" this week, gonna be soggy...

Stay warm

I slept part of the night in my chair after awakening pre-dawn.

But had coffee, French Roast with cream as usual, worked on my computer, played on my guitar and watched the rain blow outside.

Hope everyone stays warm and toasty as this storm blows across the midwest.

Well I got some type of creeping crud that is going around. Body aches, chills, muscle weakness. SO didn't make it in to work today. Probably tomorrow too. Will be sleeping in the lazy boy tonight.

Uggh. 330am and awake well before my alarm.  I have my long commute this morning and looking forward to my travel mug and my audiobook.   I think I might just get up and Do it!
But I’m so warm and comfortable in bed under my blankets. Lol

Maybe a bit longer here on TP then I will do it.
Have a good day!

Today we have to trap one of our "barn" kitties.  We are re-homing him because he is terrorizing the other two and holding them captive.  All three are feral and can't be approached.  We picked up a trap a couple of days ago and got him used to it.  Today we'll bait and set it, and hopefully quickly have him safely inside.  Then we have someone from the rescue group standing by to come and get him.  He'll go to a nice horse barn where he'll be the only cat.

I had to scramble yesterday to get my file at Dr. Brassard's office completed.  It turned out that the lab never sent my EKG results to my doctor, who should have forwarded them to Dr. Brassard.  After some frantic phoning around, I was able to get the hospital records department to fax them directly.  I got confirmation that my file is now complete.  Whew!

@KathyLauren - Yeah the paper chase is on ! A certain amount of "bird dogging" is necessary to keep things moving, nothing happens on it's own. Good luck with the kitty.

First cup tastes wonderful this morning, we are expecting another "Pineapple Express" atmospheric river and it's raining now.

My wife and I learned about feral cats the hard way.  Back in 2009, we moved into a secluded area and one day we had one come to our home.  It was cute but the hair was matted and it looked hungry.  At first, it was very standoffish and wouldn’t come in.  My wife brought it some food and eventually she gained its trust and came inside. It jumped up into her reading chair.  We let it rest for hours there.  But later when we tried to get it to move off the chair, it suddenly threw a “kanipshin” and tried to scratch and tear apart anyone who got near.  That chair was his.  We eventually were able to shoo it away but we learned the difference between domestic and feral really quick.

Well, no coffee for me this morning...at least not yet.  I’m off to have some early blood draws for my labs.  I have a 3 month followup coming up.  Have a great day everyone.

Still sleeping fitfully.  I saw my ENT yesterday and the apparent caused of the sinus pain I've been experiencing isn't a traditional type of infection (good) but something thats causing internal swelling.  I'm going to work with an OTC regimen through the rest of winter to see if it helps.  We discussed surgery later in the season.  Oh, the joy...

I hope everyone's day goes well!

@Jani - Good luck with the new regimen Jani, our youngest went through multiple sinus surgeries, finally to be cured, it's a very difficult and painful condition for sure.

Best

Thanks Cyndee.  This has certainly got me down.  I've dealt with sinus issues for some time but they are getting more frequent.  Its time to do something.

I used to love the Pineapple Express when I lived on the we(s)t coast.  It meant warm weather in winter, and it meant I could fill the rainwater tanks for the following summer's gardening.

Hi Kathy, yes very useful to have collected rain water (as I recall you had something like 4,000 gallon storage) ?

We are expecting perhaps 12c tomorrow, in the middle of winter, that's mild.

My thoughts with the poor folks in Sumas, WA (right on the Canadian border) to our north in Whatcom county, are bracing for more flooding possibilities with this event ?

Have a nice day !

Cynthia

Hi,

it’s been a busy day.  Coffee was over 12 hours ago.

i had an appointment with my endocrinologist this afternoon. He was happy with my progress.  He increased my progesterone by 50%.

I have been seeing him by telemedicine lately as his office is over 60 miles away.  But next time he wants to see me at his office, as Willow and with my wife.  That will be in a couple of months.  I’m looking forward to that.

Oh I forgot to add that because of the storm heading across the south, I spent the afternoon after I got home getting my boat storm proofed.  More dock lines and fenders.

Boats can be a real haunt when the weather threatens. The kind of stuff that keeps you awake at night worrying. Hope yours remains safe and dry in the parts that are supposed to be dry!

Finished my first cup of coffee. Time to get a refill.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day on this snowy day!

I remember bad storms in the UK living on a narrowboat, if the rivers rose too high and your mooring lines were too tight it could sink the boat. Hope everything is ok.

I took an involuntary swim wearing my quick dry hiking pants and shirt. Lifejacket not shown but present on the rock I am sitting on. Watson is dry now but I am still soaked. I capsized my kayak 5 feet from the shore trying to land on an island. Water in the pond was surprisingly warm considering it is early may in upstate New York.

Oh I will. He loves to just sleep on the couch and sleep. Not very active at all which I'm mixed about. Less to do but also want him to do more too.

We had a German Shepheard/Lab cross! It was actually our son's dog but when he moved out, Axel stayed here. ❤️ He was soooo awesome! Totally goofy, but really smart, and a million percent lovable. Unfortunately, he didn't even get to see his fifth birthday. 😢 He did both hind knees in quick succession, which were repaired, but he re-injured one and it wasn't repairable. The grief we went through after we made that horrible decision was far worse than anything we have ever experienced before or after.    @Ashley0616, please be gentle with his joints until he is all grown up!   This pic is when he was still a puppy.

When things seemed really rocky with my wife. I had thought about moving to the PNW. WA and OR are quite LGBTQ friendly. Even interviewed for a couple jobs there.   Hugs, Kymmie

Friday night was pizza night, which is actually pretty routine here.    Tonight was a bit of a seafood fry-up. Crumbed flathead tails pan fried, crumbed scallops and chips (fries) deep fried, and a salad.   Tomorrow night will be junk food at a football game.

I was admitted upstairs for observation. The nurse last night took one look at me and said, "we need to use a FEMALE external catheter on you."   They placed a PureWick catheter over me and it's working great. If there isn't anything to connect a male catheter to it just isn't going to work.   So far I haven't passed more blood, and my abdomen does feel better. A specialist is supposed to see me today and perhaps order a colonoscopy to find out where all the blood came from.
