My grandfather used to have on his wall a needlepoint sign which read: "A boat is a hole in the water in which you pour money."

We never had anything as big as yours, but I still miss sailing around on the lake.

Hugs!

I live on a boat. There's never NOT something significant that needs substantial money spent on it!

While we didn't have a boat when I was growing up. I did go out with friends who had one or my dad's friends.

Of course my parent's get a boat after I am out of the house. go figure. I've been boating on Lake Erie (Canada Side) Lake St Clair, Pontiac Lake, Kennsington lake. to name a few.

Well, actually a nice day until I was just about to get off. then it down poured. Of course I had road the bike to work. But by the time I got off it had stopped.

Have a great day everyone, stay healthy and safe.

"Morning all!" she says with half-closed eyes from getting no sleep.  Great fun here last night... I treed a bear just after midnight.  Heard my feeders rattling, saw a small bear chowing down on what's left of one feeder.  When I went outside yelling and clapping, it raced up a tree.  Kind of a funny thing to watch how they climb.  Scary fast!  Then big momma (about 400 lbs) stepped out from behind a tree and I scared her back up into the forest.  Her cub, up the tree, spent about 15 minutes mewing to her... first time I've ever gotten to hear that.  At some point it climbed down and left, but I missed that.  I'll have to start bringing my feeders in at night for a while.

Bears?! those bird feeders do it every time! We have to bring in our birdfeeders and hummingbird feeders every night coz the black bears are crazy for them! You take a nap since you were up so late Tori!  And yes--they're surprisingly fast!

Bears I can’t say I’ve ever seen one besides the zoo. Lol

Well I’m glad my work week is over it’s been interesting haha. I get to sit down and relax with a glass of wine. My wife went out with friends tonight I offered to go lol. Then I was told once I totally come out then I could go, I really wish I had the strength to come out but it’s hasn’t happened yet.

Suzzane1 I like your social distancing from buzzards. We have our share of deer and turkey. A coyote and a bobcat every once in a while. Having two Great Danes has a tendency to scare most creatures away lol.

I learned to sail as a counselor at a YMCA camp.  Then I “taught” kids about sailing.  A neighbor had a power boat and took me fishing on Lake Erie.  That where I learned I get sea sick at anchor.  I’ve crewed on a racing sailboat on Lake Erie.  I’ve Captained on the Chesapeake Bay and now I own my own hole.  I want to take it to the Florida Keys maybe next January.

My son and I used to go backpacking along the Appalachian Trail.  Nothing scarier then being greeted by a bear when you have no place to escape.  It huffed at us and went on it’s way.

just having my morning coffee.  Our dog doesn’t get the concept of time, only sun light so she tried to get me up at 5:30 then 6:30.  I finally gave in at 7.

Have a wonderful day.

Today is Sunday. A day I have in the past looked forward to as a day of rest and a day of worship. Today I am not feeling restful nor do I feel joy knowing that there are those I worship with see me as a sinner at best and probably more of a predatory sex monster. It makes me very sad to know how unwelcome I am in my faith. So today I will do what I do when I am forbannet, I will do house cleaning as a way of de-escalating my sinne. And today I am mye sint. Coffee first, then spik 'n span and elbow grease and maybe by day's end I might be glede.

Good Morning All!

Sorry I've been absent as of late.

I've been very busy trying to get things wrapped up in Shawn's life, packed and loaded, and just preparing for my big move.

Quite frankly I have also been trying to just keep busy so the nostalgia and heartache of leaving this life doesn't take hold of me.  I've about come to my limits on my emotional capital, and I feel quilt for saying so, but I really can't deal with other opinions, problems, or drama at this time.  So I am sorry for not chiming in on some of the more pressing topics here on TP.

@Patti Anne and I are in constant communication and she continues to feed me a ton of love and support from afar which keeps me focused on the future to come not my past.  The excitement of going to a place I have never been and seeing things I have only seen in pictures.  The opportunities to make new friends and meet a whole new family is something that also keeps me focused.

However one would have to be dead to not feel sadness over leaving a life, your home and comforts, and everything and everyone you ever knew...

I will be glad to be on the road with Patti and start our grand adventure that's for sure.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

@ShawnaLeigh moving away from family and friends is definitely stressful.  Hang on it will get better as you start your new adventure.  We are all here for you and PattiAnne.

we have started an extended period of thunderstorms and rain.  The weather dart ? says to expect over five inches.  Apparently a lightning strike scared the dog.  She came into to our bed and snuggled between us just like a child.  No attempt to wake us up.

I suppose it’s the weather but I’m feeling somewhat depressed this morning.  I’ll get over it.

Have a great day everyone.

Hugs

It's fine. We all know that you have a LOT on your plate right now. Well, maybe not the super new members, but the rest of us. You're taking a gigantic leap across the country. That's bound to be stressful. You're also leaving your old life more-or-less behind. That's stressful too. You take care of yourself. We'll all still be here when you can deal again.

Hugs!

I had my regular weekday tea with my breakfast today.  Weekday tea vs. weekend coffee is one way to keep track of what day of the week it is!

I heard from one of my favourite directors at the community theatre where I do sound and lights.  The theatre is closed until further notice, of course, due to covid-19, but they are planning to do a radio play and distribute it online.  No lights to worry about, but I will be doing sound effects.  We will likely record it on the theatre premises, where one hall is big enough to keep our proper distances.  They are a fun group to work with, and totally accepting.

Good morning. I bet you do have a lot on on your plate Shawna. Leaving an old life behind and starting fresh I’m sure it’s hard but it will be worth it!
I had a good day yesterday it’s basically my one day off a week. My wife and I went on a nice bike ride. After that we had lunch and went swimsuit shopping. I built up the nerve to buy one. Omg I love it I didn’t want to take it off lol. Now I just have to get the nerve to go swimming somewhere.

Shawna, oh how your situation is mine. With the exception of the Senior Trip to Vietnam, Southeast Asia and the South Pacific and a year at the University of Idaho, I have lived in the Humboldt Bay Area my entire life. There are so many connections here, so many milestones and memories of life lived in a small community. But it is all those connections, especially family ties,  that are causing anguish. I need to leave. My BFF is moving to Washington and wants me to move in with here and share expenses. It is so tempting and yet so frightening.

I wish you well, peace and fulfillment.

@ShawnaLeigh, everyone knows you're as busy as a one-armed monkey with two bananas right now.  I'm surprised you've posted anything at all.  I moved all the way across the country from WV after living on the east coast all my life.  I miss some things and people, but I've never regretted the move.  I always wanted to see the west.  Old friends are just a text or call away.  After living out here a while, my only regret is that I wasn't born and raised on the west coast (here they call it "The Right Coast").  You'll make new friends and build a great new life here in no time.

Well today just really sucked. Took a hit to my confidence. Got all dressed and even did my makeup. While I was out running errands had 3 punks start harassing and following me around the store. Had to get a manager who immediately went for security. I’m trying not to let it bother me so much.

That's terrible. I am glad there was someone to make these kids stop. There are unfortunately people that will mistreat others they do not even know, just for their own pleasure. They are hardly worth letting cause you to feel bad about yourself. You could look at it like this. At least you know that is not how you treat others. You have the strength to feel good about yourself for just being you, they obviously lack that.

Justine, I’m also very sorry you had to deal with that today. It hurts to read about this here or anywhere. The world is such a cruel place and no one is immune to these kind of injustices. I’m happy this was eventually resolved without any physical harm to you. I know emotionally it hurt but try not to let you get you down.  These “punks” will get what’s coming to them if they keep doing this sort of activity. It always does.

Justine, you are so much braver than I am right now. While this was a horrible experience, you did the right thing. Building more and more confident with each passing event.

Justine, sorry that you had to deal with idiots who have nothing better to do than harass people.

My wife wound up ripping into me of course after saying no offense. about a bill just passed by Colorado on transrights. I'm surprised she didn't say anything about yesterdays Supreme Courts decision. When we went to bed, She said she was sorry about earlier, yeah right she was. sorry to say, I didn't know I married such a bigot.

About the Supreme Courts decision, YEAH, one more protection for us! unfortunately employers will always find something else to fire us for. Or in a right to work state don't have to say anything.

Beautiful windy day here in WY. but what else is new about the wind here. LOL.

Have a great day all. I'm going to do my best to muddle through it all.

Morning y'all.    Nearly winter here, but it's a mild climate compared to what most of you experience. Even so, the best way to describe the mornings lately is...nipply! 😁

What I don’t like about the dealer working on my car, yes the put the paper mats on the floor, but why don’t they remove them when they bring my car to me?  And why do they always mess with my radio settings and my electronic dashboard settings?  I get them the way I want them and they seem to want them at factory default.  Leave things like you find them!  Why is that so difficult?  And don’t tell me it’s because the updated the computer! Every time!.  And no I haven’t figured out everything yet on the new car.  I can’t even get my key programmed to move my seat when I get in and out.  It’s supposed to move the seat, the mirrors, the steering wheel and several other things.  My old Eddie Bauer was easy to program but then it only programmed seat location and pedal location.   ok now that we’ve had our rousing knock on cars and dealer mechanics.  What else shall we talk about?  Bras?  Seems like an appropriate subject for most of us.  I have several different types. Two are famous store push-up padded to are more common everyday lightly padded ant one is a no padding no strap slip and the last one is a front close longline no padding.  Now that one supports the theory that I am now a B cup on my own. I’d prefer a C but then I’m not so sure my blouses would still fit without pulling.  Ah the problem we have as women.  And sizes are never ever the same.  Oh I’m a size ??  But men I need a large shirt and 36-30 pants and they always fit.   we can’t buy anything off the rack with confidence it will fit and I hate having to take it home to try one and return what doesn’t fit.   we’ll time to do my hair and leave.   love ya   Willow
