As I expected.  You both look good.

Very true.  The nerves can only take so much at once.  It's a gradual process and taking a break is ok.  I frequently needed recovery time.  Sometimes I would revert for a whole day but it gets easier surprisingly quickly.

So happy to hear ya'll are safe and travel is going well.  Only 2,000 more miles to go!  ?

That's natural. McDonalds food is terrifying.

Jackie, did you ever think about doing stand-up?  ?

Goddess no. The idea of performing in front of a crowd is terrifying. I'd much rather be clever somewhere dark, warm and safe. I'm way too much of an introvert.

Hugs!

A lot of comics are introverts.  It's ok... you already have a captive audience here. :D

I just love comedy.  I watch standup a lot.  Laughter really is great medicine!

Jackie I love your witty remarks.  I was always afraid to speak publicly.  In college I was required to take a public speaking class.  Most took this as an underclassman, I put it off until my senior year.  Upperclassmen had to take a “tougher” version.  Well, I learned I actually could talk in front of a group.  Not saying everyone can, it’s more frightening than being transgender.

Yes, it is frightening the first time as one's old self, and extra frightening as one's new self.  But what a confidence builder when it goes well!

I had agreed to do a public talk a few years ago.  But, looking at my calendar, I realized that the date of the talk was after my planned date to go full-time.  Gulp!  Before the publicity for the event began, I contacted the organizer and explained what was up.  He was adamant that he expected no problems if I presented as Kathy, and told me he had every confidence that I could do it.  With considerable nervousness, I did the talk.  It went really well.  I didn't hear (or hear about) any unpleasant comments, and I got a lot of positive feedback.  I swear, I felt I could slay dragons after that!

Good evening! I have to say my face is a little sore from my laser appointment last night. I had an appointment with my endocrinologist this afternoon and med wise everything is good, but I noticed a lump or a hard spot on my breast she seemed rather concerned then I mentioned it was painful at times and she looked at it some more and said ice and heat compress to see if it goes away in a month. Later on she messaged me and said she was referring me to a breast specialist, that she wants me to see. I’m guessing I will have to get a mammogram done. It kind of concerns me being that I have already had cancer, I’m hoping it is a blocked duct or something. I’m glad she is taking it serious enough to send me to a specialist.

I've driven through Chicago. It's always rush hour

I once went though Chicago at 3AM.  It was bumper to bumper 4 lanes of traffic going down to one. The reason,  they were changing out the safety  barrels. Had three lanes blocked to do it.

The trip is going well over all. I could of done without needing to buy two new trailer tires.  I drove the hell right out of them apparently.  Lol

Basically driving 10 hour days but it occurred to me last night pulling into Rock Springs Wyoming  and checking in around 830-9pm that it’s more like midnight in VT.  No wonder I’m so bitchy once I’m in the hotel room for the night. Lol

Two more days and I’m home.  Well my new home.  Right now I’m not sure exactly what that will be like as I’ve never been there.  I can’t go back.  So I feel a bit displaced but moving forward into the life of Shawna finally.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

@ShawnaLeigh sorry your trip is taking a toll on both you and your trailer.  As for your new home, I don’t know exactly where you are going to be, but I can tell you that everything west of the mountains is beautiful.  Mild temperatures year around compared to Vermont.  East side is arid farm and ranch land. You will have a lot of the green beauty and friendly people.  My son and his wife live in Portland.  I used to work for a company with thousands of acres of farm land in Oregon and Washington and have been there many many times.  My family came from New England so I know what that’s like.  And one your second day you and Patti drove right past where I grew up, Fremont Ohio.

My ex and I drove to LA CA from NH (and a year later, then back to NH) in our van and it was a long hard drive that took us 10 days. We didn't have the money to sleep in a hotel each night and we ate nutri-grain bars and water on the trip to have money for gas and tolls. It's a brutal trip, so yea, I feel ya on that. Small trip--don't accidentally pick Santa Monica to stay in unless you have money. It's super expensive! The trip is really rough and takes a lot out of ya. Best wishes to you both that all keeps going as planned.

Seems par for the course on a cross country trip. You’ll get through this. Stay safe, hon!

I'd be extremely uncomfortable talking in front of a group in male mode but not in female mode. In male mode I'd have to be someone I'm not in front of a lot of people but in female mode I can be myself.

@ShawnaLeigh, yes that time thing messed with my head, too.  Kept going to bed at 8-9pm for a couple of weeks after arriving, lol.  At least you're arriving at the most beautiful time of year here.  I arrived in December and was shocked!  The rich earthy forest aroma that hit my nose was delectable and enchanting, but I think it was February before I saw the sun.  Get used to seeing green year-round; no brown lifeless winter landscapes here.  Things I miss sometimes: deciduous forests, hot summer nights, thunderstorms, and fireflies.  The thing I don't miss:  millions of people around every turn.....

I do spoken word acting, and give Trans 101 talks and other public speaking.  I wear make-up for those occasions.  Sephora is easy for me to get to, and has a foundation that does a good job for me and the sales folks there are Trans Friendly.  Their eye shadow pallets are also fun to use. Another source of my foundation is Ulta which carries Dermablend that does a consistent job of my lower face and chin.   I just use good old Revlon lipsticks because I ruin them by leaving my purse in the hot car too often.

I'm not interested in makeup, jewelry or nice clothes or girly stuff.  It's made me wonder at times.   It saves some money.  If I wore a skirt it would likely  be denim.  I thought about a woman's skirt suit but nah.   Neither of my sisters are into that stuff either.  One likes peasant chic (still a 60s flower girl)  and the other - the only time she has ever worn a dress was at her wedding.  Jeans at all other times.   Jeans and t shirt here.  Content being a girl.  Weirdo. Weirda? Never mind.

@Ladypcnj Before posting links to other group's websites, PM one of the Staff (preferably an Admin) and have them check that site out.   We have specific rules here regarding age appropriateness and would need to know that the other site is in line with those rules.  We do have members here between 13 and 18 and other sites need to be safe for that age range, legally and otherwise.  Also, we are not a dating or pick-up site, not do we allow people selling things to advertise here.  As I said clear the link with a moderator or admin before posting it.  Mod's and admins do check out posts and if we find problem links we will remove them and notify the OP of a rules violation.  Go to https://www.transgenderpulse.com/community-rules to understand where we are.

I raise my hand in the group, I have a question and a suggestion... is it allowed to share other new lgbtq+ website links here?

Yeah, ELF is a good brand, another brand is Revlon ColorStay last 24 hours.

I really don't think that's a good idea. The unity of the LGB and T community is historic and has been central for both groups rights. And the vast majority of people advocating for splitting the two are transphobic LGB's who are broadly condemned by the community anyway.

A bit late in updating, but I've had the draft of the official diagnosis and have (as yet unconfirmed) an endo consultation next month.   Next to arrive will be the supporting documentation for my new passport application for my correct gender.  This will then be my official ID for all the other updates - bank, tax, payroll etc.   It just feels good to to be proactive again rather than waiting for other people to move at a leisurely pace.

I like ELF brand cosmetics, I can pick them up at JC Penny.    I wear makeup everyday, but mostly just very light makeup.

Hi Mae Be, whenever it comes to makeup, there are so many different bands to choose from. Picking out the right makeup comes with trial and error, until you find one that works for you and blends well with your skin tone, some makeup products can leave the skin feeling oily. It's a good idea to look at the labels on the makeup product to know what the creators put in the makeup, just in case skin allergies. Once you found the makeup brand, you can add it to your shopping list, good luck
