@LaurenA I'm glad you are finding some solace in the boob confusion. Hold her hand and be with her every moment you are there. You are incredibly brave and I am so proud of you and to know you.

@Jandi & @Jani thanks ?

@Jamie68 SUCH good news.

@KymmieL your photos are slightly blurry, but my impression is that your makeup looks nice - a fresh face. It's subtle and that color lipstick flatters you - makes your blue eyes stand out.

@LaurenA I am so pleased to hear you're in better spirits given the circumstances. You are there now to support your loved one and to experience this precious time with her. That you're even finding a little humor and feeling comfortable with how you're presenting is really wonderful.

@LaurenA hang in there, I'm glad you are doing well enough to be by her side.

@KymmieL looks good, what are you doing different forehead vs chin area. It could be my monitor or the lighting but your forehead looks a bit "red".  Your application looks very smooth and blended!

I thought that the first one was a little blurry.

Bri, my forehead does seem a little redder

Off to the hospital again  for another 9 hour session of holding the hand of a person I love as she slowly dies.  I do what I can for her but we both know it's just a matter of time.  I have to admit I am having fun confusing the medical staff having boobs but answering as male.  I'm not sure but this feels like a comforanble place to be.

I'm so sorry. My prayers are with you both.

Lipstick application is good.

I find it hilarious that your "with glasses" is more in focus than "without glasses." That's pretty much my whole world (though it's even more out-of-focus without).

I think I'd look into eyebrow shaping next. It's pretty easy to do (when you, y'know, HAVE eyebrows) and darkening them up a little lets you shape them in a way that makes your eyes pop.

Hugs!

I didn't notice that before, that the with glasses was sharper than the without glasses - and I was wearing my progressives when I first looked at them. So funny! I agree with @Jackie C. about eyebrows. I think the natural eye between the red lips and more accentuated brows would add some glamor. Lol, I don't myself care to wear makeup, but I thoroughly enjoy the aesthetic. ?

You know, it's kind of funny, having grown up in guy mode, I literally had no idea that eyebrow shaping or coloring was even a thing until I started looking more into "trans" stuff, and by extention had the nerve to look more into "girl" stuff.

Hi everyone

well, we are in Custer SD. Drove through the Badlands earlier today.  It was 106 degrees.  No shade.  Not sure yet what we are going to see tomorrow.  My wife is looking into that.  Thursday will be Mt Rushmore before heading further west.

Lauren, I’m so sorry about your wife.

good night

The last time I was through Mount Rushmore was about 40 years ago. It was 110 degrees. No smoking restriction because of spontaneous brush fires. We had 5 of us in a Fiat wagon similar to this. Fuel pump went out and called a tow truck. It came from 25 miles away and we all had to squeeze into the cab of truck. To top it off, hih heater was stuck on with full heat. I have no idea how we did it. Rushmore was pretty though. One of our more memorable tripe from Tacoma Washington to Chicago Illinois area.

I have only seen Mt. Rushmore once.  Flying into Ellsworth AFB, the controller asked if we wanted the Mt Rushmore arrival.  Sure, why not?   From 6000 feet above, you can kind of tell that there is something odd about the mountain.  :D

Good morning everyone, today’s wake up call was from my building manager at the fire academy. A toilet in the ladies room kept running and overwhelmed the digestion system outside, flooded my office, classrooms 1 carpets and the apparatus bay where I had some cardboard boxes.

I squeegeed the bulk of the water from the areas I could, we have a restoration company coming for the deep cleaning, and drying. Fortunately it was mostly clear water and no stench. The building mgr. did look at my boots, maybe a bit to girlie for him.  They’ll catch on.

Hugs for everyone, (masked where required)

Mmindy, What is with the 4 stoners in the back ground?

I wish they would have kept Rushmore like it was. circa: North by Northwest. It was way cooler. But no they had to ruin it. Make it all modern.

Anyone who has visited Mt. Rushmore drove/rode Iron Mountain road. It is cool drive.( nope , haven't rode it yet.)

it is:

  • 17 MILES

  • 314 CURVES

  • 14 SWITCHBACKS

  • 3 PIGTAILS

  • 3 TUNNELS

  • 4 PRESIDENTS

Hey Kymmiel, Iron Mountain and Needles Highway are great drives/rides in both directions. We were out there 9 years in a row, and one year my wife stayed home. Yep that's right we took separate vacations and went two different directions. I went to the Rockies, and Black Hills. She went to New York City. My BFF and I had two weeks on the road riding and camping. We made a commitment to ride 5mph below the posted speed limit and enjoy the sights. I rode Indy to St. Louis, MO. We rode St. Louis, MO to Burlington, CO. Then to Colorado Springs Pikes Peak, down to Pueblo, CO for the night. Pueblo, CO Hwy 50 west to 285 North eventually Dinosaur National Monument, Flaming Gorge, UT, Up to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, then Glacier National Park. We continued through the Bighorn National Forest eventually spending a few days in Sturgis, SD for the Bike Rally. I bought my bike new in 2009 and today it has 67,552 miles on it.

Best wishes, stay positive, and safe

Don't know why but up early this AM. Wound up calling in yesterday to work. I was fried so I took an extra day. Tomorrow I have minor surgery on a carcinoma spot on my back. A quick in and out with just a local. Should be no sweat.

I am about to get a flashing neon sign to wear around my neck at work saying, I'm a woman. I am getting to the point that getting mis-gendered  at work is starting to bother me. With a mask mandate at work wearing makeup would be a disaster. Can't do much about it till this stupid covid crap is over.

Hi

yesterday was a good day.  Weather calling for rain later today. It poured for a while last night.  Mt Rushmore this morning then off to Yellowstone.  We have to trim some time off to get to Portland by the 23rd.  Guess I need to get going.  I had an Americano yesterday that was pretty good here at the hotel.  That and a blueberry scone.  I do love my blueberries.

Hi Willow, I think you will enjoy Yellowstone. It is one of my favorite national parks and has a lot of different things to see. I don't know how much time you will spend there, but it can take days to see it all.

Hugs,

Mike

It's also networking.  Sometimes jobs come along because someone knows someone else - these older people might know someone.  "Hey, Ashley," someone might say,"My nephew is looking for love. He likes tall women. Whatcha think? Can he call you?"   Don't discount their ability to match make.  It is about networking.

He is simply doing to get more votes. He held a Trump for trans during his first run and found out the majority of his voters were against us so he simply followed the crowd.

The sad part is I'm the third oldest member. One is in their 60's and the other is past 70's. I'm even older than the president lol. It's a younger crowd that's for sure. I like to come here to feel young again lol.

Ashley, I think searching for relationships are a lot like searching for jobs, they tend to come along when you aren't actually looking.  Perhaps you could step back from actively searching, at least for a little while, and instead, concentrate on just being out and about as yourself.  Like Mae and Abby have already mentioned, just keep up your volunteering, but don't focus on a need to find someone.  Maybe, just maybe, changing your tactics will result in someone finding you.    I do wish only the best for you, and I hope someone comes along who connects with you.

First off, you can't regret being honest. You may not be changing the relationship, but it sounds like it still exists!   As for meeting people, what about through the volunteering you're doing? Maybe you can do more of that and meet people. Let some relationships grow and if they blossom into something more than friendship, great! If not, you've got more friends!

Hi Giz, welcome. There's so many different ways to be trans and you're so welcome here. I wish you luck in achieving your goal of being more androgynous. There's forums in here that might suit you and your goals. I look forward to hearing more from you. I go by he/they pronouns at the mo.

Hello @JenniferB!  Was kind of in the same boat with this.  I spent massive amounts of energy over several decades to try to control my drinking and drug use.  Because I'm highly disciplined, I was ultimately successful.  I felt I could have gone on with controlled drinking for the rest of my life without problems, but it got to the point where I realized that it wasn't worth all the energy I was putting into it.  At that point I found surrender.  I got a sponsor, attended almost daily meetings for a year, worked the steps to the best of my ability, tried my best to socialize with people even though I am an introvert, I made a mess for myself at the meetings and felt a little rejected.  And then I continued on doing a little service work.   After a few months away from it, I'm in a good spot.  I accidentally ate one of my roommates edibles a couple months ago.  I have only smoked a half ounce of weed in the last 20 years.  After it kicked in, I realized that it was a marijuana high.  Then I noticed something miraculous.  I just told myself that there is nothing I can do about it and then got on with the business of the evening like I normally would.  It was like the high just ended right then and there.   Controlled drinking like I was doing was just very risky behavior and not worth the effort for me.  In any case, I'm very happy that I spent my life fighting it all instead of just giving into it.  I think that whatever you put into something, you eventually get back out.   Meetings are cool.  People generally get equal time to share.  Seeing people who are struggling reminds me of the way I was and why I want to remain sober.  And by being there, I have the potential of helping someone else.  The stuff I don't identify with I just do my best to not let bother me.  And if it gets bad there, I don't have to go back.  I can find another meeting or even just read the literature.  The literature helped me a lot.

Good afternoon everyone,   I often wondered why @April Marie and @Willowgot up so early in spite of being retired. Now that I have my own puppy as a house pet I get it. We haven't had dogs since before my oldest granddaughter was born 22 years ago this September. I've always had working hunting dogs, and it was important they became acclimated to the current weather conditions. While the kennels had large outdoor runways, they also had pet passes into the somewhat temperature controlled garage. Yes, they were allowed in the house but only for short periods of time. Fast forward to present time, and I'm potty training a puppy as well as crate training. The first night Parker Von Schwinegruber, slept from 10:30 until 05:30. Last night we went to bed and 10:30 and he started making noise at 05:00. Since I don't want to test his ability to hold his business, we got up and went outside. He took care of business and we went back to sleep. This time he had a dental chew bar and I filled his water bowl. We cat napped until 08:00 and then got up for the day taking him immediately outside. He took care of business, and we played fetch and tug of war with his now favorite puffball. We came in and I put him back in the crate positioned so he could see me cook breakfast. Did he NO HE WENT TO SLEEP! We ate breakfast, did the dishes, and finished off the pot of coffee I brewed at 08:00. Once he woke up we stared at one another for about 20 minutes, because he seemed content to be in the crate. I got up and we worked on some obedience training as well as getting into and out of the crate with permission. We don't want him to crash the gate or any doors we will be going through.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
