Good morning, everyone!!

I woke up early yesterday - early for me is 3AM - and could feel the depression engulfing me. Walked and fed the dogs at 4 and then crawled back into bed. My wife was awake and she wrapped her arms around and forced me to talk. It gave me the chance to vocalize what I was feeling, shed a few tears and get out of my head. I fell asleep and slept until 6 - woke up feeling so much better and by last evening felt great. It is frightening how quickly we can get into our own heads and overwhelmed by depression - and I am blessed to have a wife who can see it coming and pull me up.

The weather here was warm and sunny yesterday - which always helps - and we ate dinner sitting out on our back porch. Later, we enjoyed a little bourbon watching the sun set from our front porch.

Today we are going to Costco - I always love going there because, not only can you get bulk food at good prices, they usually have some nice, relatively inexpensive clothes to fill out my wardrobe. This afternoon, we'll be sunning and swimming in our pool. Heaven.

One of the small things that helped to bring my smile back was.........big hoop earrings! My piercings are healed and the starter earrings are gone!! Now, I'm experimenting with different styles of earrings - my wife is sharing with me - and I absolutely love the  feel of the large hoops moving in my earlobes. Funny how something so seemingly small can have such a large impact on your state of mind.

Enough sharing for today - if you made it this far...I apologize but it felt good to vent.

Enjoy this beautiful day and look for the goodness in it....it might be just something small like a pair of earrings that lifts you up.

Good morning,

The CNA that visits every morning for my meds was training a new CNA. The CNA decided to tell the lady that Birdie is "male" by the way. He is intersex so he just looks different.

I found that to be rather offensive. I don't need explaining to people.

Oh well, life goes on. Have a wonderful day everyone!

@Birdie

i don’t blame you for that.  If the trainee had looked at you record before coming they would have known that anyway.  And they do need to be familiar with your records before doing anything.

I know about the overwhelming feelings that can come on all of the sudden. For me, just one thought can do it. And wam depression hits.

I also love the feeling of dangling earrings. unfortunately they start bothering me after a while. So, back to my studs. I do want to get my ears pierced again but haven't got around to it yet.

That is terrible, anyone in the medical field should know better. I would complain to her supervisor.

I asked the bus driver and my medical reports do state that as well. Any worker that can "read" should be well-informed.

Talking about it was just rude.

I really need to keep working on getting "male" changed to "female" on my medical records. Heck I have a uterus and fallopian tubes!

My doctor isn't really working with me on that. 😐

Seems like there must be a way to do this.  It's not really a "transgender" kind of issue, more like correcting a mistake.

If was a mistake since birth as far as I'm concerned.

They should have opted for surgery way back then.

A fun trip to Costco. My wife and I spent more time shopping for clothes than anything else. I got 2 pairs of shorts, 2 skorts, a pair of pull-on crop pants and a white summer blouse. Of the 16 things we bought, 10 were clothing items. I've found that Rafaella and Nine West clothes fit me pretty flatteringly.

Score!!

I had my first therapy session with my speech therapist and it went ok from what I was able to do. She said it was just a base line and will get to do more Monday. I'm so looking forward to working on that. Two of my recliners are stuck in the up position and they sent out a guy to look at it. He took pictures while I was doing therapy but I wanted to still keep going. I won't be on for the weekend. I'm heading to northern Mississippi to celebrate one of my nephews birthday and will be up there again next month for my one my niece's birthday. It's time to wine and dine and go to bed early so I can hit the road while hardly anyone is there. Have a good weekend!

Good morning, everyone!! Up, dogs walked and fed and I'm working on my second cup of coffee - always black for me. After checking in here, I'll head off to read the morning's paper.

No big plans for today - vacuum the basement family room, depending on the weather I need to knock down some weeds/high grass in areas I don't normally cut with the mower and hopefully have some afternoon time at the pool working on my tan.

Last evening, after hours of wearing one, I realized how much I wish I could have worn a skort all my life!!! Oh. My. Gosh! How comfortable and convenient!!!???

Be safe and always look for the goodness in the day - it's there.

Just a quick good morning

we changed coffee brands back to one we’ve had before, San Francisco Bay coffee.  Rather than an entire box open the pack like 6 pods in a sealed bag. Why, you ask.  Well, unlike kureg pods these are totally biodegradable and are not in a sealed plastic k cup.  They use more of a t bag concept so the sealed bags keep the pods fresh.

gotta go, I work today off Sunday and Monday

Good morning everyone,:coffee::coffee::coffee:

I'm on my third cup of coffee, HOT, black and strong. Folgers Dark Silk is my sponsor.

The house has been quiet this morning as I catch up and read the social platforms.

Transgender Pulse Forums have become my favorite place to read, and hang out. I don't comment on every post I read, but I do learn from them. I can experience the highs and lows of emotion here, crying with some, only to taste a salty smile on the next. I love that we're all in different places in the world, as well as different stages of realization, and transformation.

Happy Pride Month,

I feel the same way - spend a lot of time reading and absorbing, posting...probably more than I should.

Every time I read about someone struggling, I just want to offer a hug or a shoulder...and when it's my turn the kindness is returned.

Enjoy your day...and the coffee!!!

Good morning, everyone!!! I'm about to go back for my second cup of coffee and then read the local paper. The dogs had me up early this morning...so a nap will be in my future, today. Maybe by the pool. 🙂

I cut some of our grass yesterday before rain put an end to that plan - will finish it up today. We went to church last evening and the picked up some food at a local restaurant - then came home and ate dinner and had a glass of wine in summer dresses. I can't believe how good a simple dress and a little lipstick can make me feel. Oh, and a new set of big silver hoop earrings with a cz heart-shaped diamond. I smiled all evening.

Stay safe and find the goodness in this beautiful day we've been given.

Good morning!

Yesterday was our town's 2nd ever PrideFest, volunteered from 8 AM setup through breakdown done at 7:30, except gave myself one two hour shift off to mingle and eat and drink. Such a good time spending a day with everyone just being nice to each other without judgy looks or comments. Then came home and had a big sad as I sometimes do, this time about 'why can't everyday be Pridefest?' with a dose of 'why did I wait so long?' when I see the much younger trans folks sprinkled in amongst the rest of the alphabet people.

I do understand that emotion - in my late 60s and acknowledging myself is rife with looking back and asking "what if."  But, then I look at the many blessings in my life as it was, and I just try to focus on relishing what I have and will have in the time I have left. I can't change the past, but I can embrace the future.

Like April has said, that part of my life had its place I suppose.  I certainly don't regret having my family.  But yeah, there are those what if? thoughts.

It is kinda weird to be going through a puberty of sorts in my 70's.

@RhondaS sounds like fun.

Got so envious yesterday at work. I was on my way to a delivery in the morning. I passed by the spa where I get my hair, etc done. There was a bunch of tween girls outside, all excited. It must have been a princess party. First thing that crossed my mind was I wish I could have done that when I was younger. It would have been so fun.

My wife has been gone this weekend. Due home today. I just love the way she communicates with me. Nothing on leaving. A text when she got there. A couple texts yesterday saying she made it to the dealer we bought our bike from and their sister one. One showing the shirts she got. A couple with  Love you. No calls. but she can call our youngest. Nothing yet today. OH, well Nothing new there.

Got the fuel and return lines done on the wagon. Just a couple more things then the big 🤞🤞🤞 start up. I hope. Today some more work on it.

Have a great day all. I will try.

good morning all,

The coffee was strong and good this morning. I haven't posted in a long time so here is my latest update. I retired March 15th, then moved to Taos NM to live with my partner Stevie. I had the first of 2 FFS Surgeries May 3rd and everything is healing up nicely. I will post pic later. I hope everyone is doing well.

I don't wear a bra to bed.  The girls aren't big enough to need it, but still enough to appreciate.  Just a flannel nightgown suits me fine.

Yeah, that is the point.  And of course they can be proud of themselves for saving humanity.   Yeah.  That would be scary.  I'd find a bush somewhere like our GOP governor candidate recommends.  So far I've gotten away with the women's.  I've been told I pass better than I realize.  But it would only take one a55h0le.   This is all so stupid.  I mean, who gets off on hanging out in a bathroom?
    • Ashley0616
Oh yes. It was not fun cleaning it up but he is better.

As I read this one, it is only for school bathrooms.  I hope he has signed a bill to triple the number of "security monitors" on the campuses and up their pay considerably, not to mention some other costly stuff.  Only way is for every school employee, to know the birth certificate information of each student by memory which will require 3 additional months of salary for them all.  It appears the enforcement relies on parental reports obtained from their children which opens so much up.  The kids will end up ALL with wet or soiled underwear while the parents go at each other with weapons over "family honor" over false calls based on childish name calling.

I agree. This law is impractical and impossible to evenly enforce without such ridiculous measures in place. What it will do is stigmatize the trans community in Oklahoma and nothing more but ofc, that’s the only point of it.   If I was in that state and needed a restroom, there’s no chance I’d ever step foot in the men’s restroom because of some law. I know I’m not alone in that thinking. This law won’t stand the test of time.

I asked AI to create an image of myself 30 years younger based off my avatar on another site and this was the result:     Wow! I am amazed how close it got my 30 year old face!

Quite true.  The amusing thing about opposites is how similar they can be.   My family left Greece because of the conflict between the communists and the militarists/fascists.
