Someone else with a Zook.  My ride, back in the day, was a Suzuki GT380.  The GT series were two-strokes, so it had credible power for highway riding.  I did a few long vacation trips on it.  But motorcycles are for young folks.  I sold it a long time ago.

My first bike which I got as pieces that had to reassembled when I was a teenager was a 70s GT750 water buffalo!  I got it running, took one ride on it and realized it was way too much for a first real bike. lol. Wow those old 2 stokes were torquey. The one I just recently gave up about 5 years ago was a Suzuki Volusia 750. Loved it.

@KymmieL I hope not being able to get to Spokane for that interview didn’t set you back.

Willow

Nope, I figure their loss. I have contacted the District manager for the stores in Spokane. He said he might just have a place for me. He is going to talk to that stores manager on Monday.

My first bike was an 2007 Harley Sportster 1200L. That was the one I got into my accident with. Broke 4 ribs and damaged my spleen. Wound up trading that on an 08 Fatboy. then in 2015 I traded up again to my Street Glide. I think the only time I didn't ride a Harley was when I went through the safety course. Everything else has been Harley. Not counting my 84 Honda ATC 200x three wheeler. now that was a blast.

Got Ma'amed today. it was great.

As you know, I fit this category. Just not licensed.

I have a Yamaha 1300, but haven't been able to ride it since my prostate surgery 3 years ago. I hope to ride again after my GCS is healed up. Strength to hold it up has now become a concern.

Hugs,

Mike

Back in the mid 80s I had a Suzuki 450 2 cyl. I loved it. It had 5 gears and got 75 mpg. Had to sell it when I moved back to Illinois from Tacoma.

*sips coffee*

Good morning all, I know it’s been a while since I posted. I thought I would say hello and check in. I have been busy at work, but that has dropped off the face of the Earth again, so now slowness has started again. I decided to add in a new therapist that specializes in supporting those with Gender Identity concerns, which would be great except my emotional life has been shaken on its head. I have come to realize some of my emotional issues are triggered by my “parents” and their lack of interest in my life, even before the discussion of transition and the years of neglect and possible abuse. This has kind of destabilized me again, along with increasing the estrogen about a month and half ago.

*sips coffee*

I am just trying to stay afloat I guess right now, which is partially why I took a step back. We are trying to work through the trauma of the neglect and various events, while also keeping me out of the hospital, as we don’t feel like that would be a safe place for me (it would be non-gender affirming and also with COVID, just seems like a poor choice).

*sips coffee*

So yeah, that’s what has been going on. I am trying to work on a plan to start up a local LGBTQ+ Social Group, because there isn’t one that already exists, and I think something like this would be really nice for a place where I can find like minded individuals to do board game nights, coffee hour, and other social things without it being just solely about support groups. That at least is the pie in the sky dream with it.

Weird, I thought there would have been one in Columbus. Then again, the closest ones to me are in Ferndale or Ann Arbor, not Detroit. Though there are some for youth groups, nothing for mature women like me. Good on you for looking to start one!

As for the abuse/neglect thing... I feel you. My therapist and I go over childhood trauma kind of a lot.

Hugs!

@Jackie C. I know what you mean, I did a search on Facebook for groups and asked around. There are independent things like a Softball league, or a bowling league, but not like a gaming group, coffee group, things like that. I am not quite there on wanting to put myself out there because as being the front person, I have a feeling I might get some hate over it.

I know what you mean. Affirmations had a board-game night and I totally missed it (though I never did figure out how to pay for parking in their lot). My regular gaming group is ALMOST half LGBTQ+, but that was more of a happy accident. Something closer would have been really nice.

I also miss seeing people in person. Two of us are high risk so I wouldn't dream of it until we're all vaccinated but I want to give my friends a giant hug.

Hugs!

Probably the same gearbox as my GT380.  It had 6 gears, but you only used 5.  On the highway, you cruised in 5th.  6th was only for speeding.

I tested negative for covid.  Not that I was worried: I have been keeping a low profile, and I had no symptoms.  But they are encouraging frequent asymptomatic testing.

Still, it is nice to know prior to my trip to Montreal for my consultation with Dr. Brassard this week.  It is a consultation for a possible revision of my GCS.  I'll have to quarantine for two weeks when I get home.  That's how they are keeping Nova Scotia relatively safe.

Nice! It'll be another year or so before I can make that trip. Good luck and congratulations for Nova Scotia handling the pandemic better than the rest of Canada. Excuse me while I once again torture Kenney's voodoo doll.... 😅

I'm out of coffee again. It's Earl Grey for me.

Yesterday was my wife's birthday. Her brother and his GF came over to make dinner and see what we've done with our place. We had spent most of the day cleaning our house. I didn't put any effort into my outfit and spent the day in a pair VS/PINK brand 3/4 yoga pants and a hoodie. I had fully expected to be asked to change before her brother came over but when the time came she said I looked fine and I don't need to change. Later on she opened gifts. One of the is a chicken coop. Ever since she found out we can have chickens on our property she's been obsessed with the idea. A wall worthy event.

We have a section of brick wall in our living room. There was a free standing fireplace once upon a time so I guess the wall put for fire protection. Anyways the bricks are painted white. One of our friends suggested we write a life event on each brick as the happens. We bought the house, wrote on a brick. Wife got her chicken coop, wrote it on a brick. So last night while I was up on a stool writing that she got her chicken coop she suggests that we paint the bricks different colors. "Ya know, your pride colors". Me: rainbow or pink, blue and white? Her: pink, blue and white. I almost fell off the stool.

Later we were all just hanging out, talking, drinking wine and somehow (I think my wife just threw it out there) that I'm (me) the girl in the relationship and she's the boy since she's such a tom-boy and hates dressing up and having to put on face. She does love her baseball caps.

I'm just going to, at my own risk, assume she has finally settled with idea that she married a trans-girl.

That's a GREAT story. Sounds like things are looking up for you. My wife is still in the grieving stage, but she is really making an effort to support me though. She calls me "Jamie" more and more often now. Small improvements are much better than no improvements.

Good morning. Nothing special going on for me today and that is just fine for me. It is freezing outside

and I just want to stay at home and be warm. I did try on some jeans, this time with a padded shaping

brief and the look was perfect, no more man butt.

I did manage to go out into the freezing your butt off cold to feed the birds.

Darn birds don't seem to care about how cold it is.

So that has been the start of my day. So good, so far!!!

That is good news Elizabeth. I went , well, we went through some very rough territory when I first came out.

trusting in each other and taking our time as we walked through this also helped.

I would say it was a very dark place for her when I came out. I mean gosh, I just came out with this big surprise to the woman I've been married to for 24 years....well things worked out but it was not an easy road for either of us, but here we are still married, 45 years now. 21 years after I came out. All I can say is my journey didn't just include me, my wife joined in on my journey.

Jamie, i know it took my wife and family what seemed forever to get my name and pronouns correctly.  Give her time and appreciate any effort.  It's hard for everybody.

We are getting what may be the last flops of sap for the year and since we have a great deal of ice I'm looking forward to a long boil and a lot more maple syrup to end the season with.  It has been a funny year with a great early start followed by a long deep freeze.  Soon the remaining snow will melt and spring will come.  Yea!

Hugs,

Charlize

Congratulations @ElizabethStar! I'm glad your wife is onboard. Also that the wall gets to be trans-flag colors. I think our flag is pretty too.

Oddly enough, my spouse and I had the same conversation last night. I was bawling at the end of Wandavision. My wife was dry-eyed. Well, somebody had to be the girl.

Hugs!

Ok, I'm inserting a new subject.

I just started shaving my arms 2 days ago. I kept looking at my arms and kept thinking that this doesn't look right, so I did something about it. My wife thinks I'm being silly. She said that most girls don't shave their arms. (This coming from someone who hasn't had any hair on her arms for over 20 years). I told her "Well, this girl does".

Am I the only one who feels this way?

It is the only solution and I've determined it through living thru a year of covid. And even if things did go back to normal within a couple of months. Then there's the issue of the world ending in 10 years from climate change.

Yes. I see my therapist every week and we talk about my issues in general. While she's not specifically a gender therapist, she's an ally. With her help, I've made great strides in going from an angry bung-hole to, well, me.   Hugs!

Who is that in the mirror? Is that me..? No, oh no it couldn't be. For I'm a girl but is that who I want to be..? I don't even know who I am.  I frown yet in that frame I smile. This thought drives me insanely wild.  Is it me or is it not..? I cannot tell, everyone calls me her or she. But, what if that's not really me? What if I'm not a girl?  If I told them all these feelings would I still be apart of their world? Everyday the same old lie convincing myself to be her. I put a mask on as I pass those I love by grinning ear from ear. While entrapped is this boy, begging to have a walk outside. This charade is permanent I fear, unless someone sinister were to hear. I pretend and pretend that it's okay, As I watch myself fade away. Wear this, put that jewelry on. The same commands I hear and hear. While I always find myself in tears. No one cared no one did, so this "girl" committed. She had a plan, scary but true she killed herself to be the girl her family always wanted her to.

I wish I was seeing some numbers when they say "increase" but the heading is a bit misleading which I think our "concern trolls" will grab like a jelly doughnut.  In line with the study, my blood pressure has entered the "well controlled" stage that my medical team feels proud of.  It is good information for our doctors, but we need to keep it away from our H8ers.

@Willow are suggesting that I be  an adult.  I don't wanna be a dult.  LOL.  I do agree with you.  I should just call.    Well good  new for my weekend.  My youngest is working days. So, its Kymmie time again.  Hopefully I will be able to get to my VA appointments. I will be going as Kymmie yeah.  Hope the stupid white crap stays away.    Hugs, Kymmie

Pornography, especially the pictures of women in the nude, and even involved in sex action do show nice looking women in them who are presented with overtones of sexuality. As part of my career in business law enforcement I met some of them from time to time.  The same women also modeled for "non-porn" magazines and looked just a good without the sexual connotation and were just as beautiful in clothing and just as interesting to me as role models in those cases as the porn.  Cis males are looking at them in either place with the sexual connotation, I was not.  A role model is only effective when the role is one you find you must take on and you get them AFTER you decide it is for you, even if it is slight and hidden from your conscious world.  Porn gave you some idea of how you want to be, but did not INFECT you with being Trans.
    • Natalie99
Yes, you are right. Gender comes from deep inside. Thank you for your answer, girl!
    • Natalie99
My dear, Please don't do it! Suicide is never a solution. Try to find something that gives you hope. A childhood dream, a hobby, anything that you can imagine and will make you feel less stressful. E. g. reading a book, writing a story or a poem, listening to or playing music, doing sport, cooking, watching movies series anything. I know that it is really hard to fight these thoughts and depression. But it can be better! Sometimes life is a roller coaster, but you will eventually go upwards. Control your life, don't let your thoughts control you.

yay! 🙂 and I'm not necessarily more outgoing online but i am less shy and your welcome ^^
    • Taylor_The_Human
Yeah, I agree It usually feels awkward sometimes..! I'm hoping it won't here though. I'm 14, but soon to be 15, I'm really shy usually, but it doesn't always seem so when online. I've tried making friends before but they've all turned out to be people I shouldn't associate with or just weren't great people... I agree a relationship of ANY sort requires effort from both people. If anything I'm more outgoing online but that's the only difference between how I interact in person. 🙂 And I'm will to get to know you if that's cool. Thanks!   -Taylor.

we could be friends im 17 now by the way and me too for being shy i dont seem like it now but i am and im typing here because for everyone ive tried and gotten a friend (3 times) its never really felt like an actual friendship maybe some kind of friendship but in comparison for how it feels, my current real life best friend VS every other wellll every other has felt like weaker and its never really worked out that long   Im also typing here because I've tried before but all the other people dont even try back and a friendship needs both people working or is it really a friendship? for me no even if its online only, which ive found most people usually treat it differently than real life but i try to not treat it differently

I'm on my third counsellor. She's admitted to taking a different approach to me as we come from similar backgrounds and we have a scary way of understanding each other. She reminds me of the little lady in the film Poltergeist!  Cow, can read minds!!! Knows everything about me, what I'm thinking or if I'm lying. I've spent sessions where I've been shouted at for an hour, and others where we've chatted about random stuff, laughing like old friends.   Its been three years and I can honestly say I wouldn't be here without her pushing me along when I've faltered and opening my mind to new ideas and learning to accept who I am.
    • JustKate
I think you have to look at it from another perspective and your thoughts.   Would a cis guy see attractive women in porn and think "I could be a woman"? I mean I'm sure they have some sexual fantasies about being a lesbian for a day. But, when all is said and done, they want to be a man.   I do know that quite a common fantasy amongst the trans women I know before they transitioning was to be a "sissy" and liked porn like that.   Do I think it could change someone's gender impression? Maybe at surface level, but deep down, cis people want to be cis even if they have periods of time where they are influenced by outside issues.
    • Natalie99
I'm sorry to hear that. Do not feel guilty! You were really brave to come out. You don't deserve to be called a liar. It is not like you have cheated on them or something!   However, understand that it is shocking for them, as others have said before. They experience grief of a loss one. But I recommend you to focus on your emotions, and that you are beginning your new life - the one that you deserve.   I also recommend watching this video. (And her other videos too, she explains stuff really well.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pfZyR-34-g
