Hi there can we start a thread for Mental health please for those of us who are mentally ill?

The Admin and Mod Staff here check that forum every time we sign on to be sure members are safe, but we also welcome posts from members for whom Mental Health is an issue because often times they teach us things for the health and safety of the others.  You do not have to be actively suicidal to post there.  My daughter actually has your condition which you mentioned in your introductory post.  We do have a computer based limit on the programming we can do, as another issue here.

Nina, if your issue or topic doesn't fit any of the established sub-forums within the Support Forum category, you can start a thread in any appropriate forum, such as Health Issues or Transgender Issues.  But if you are feeling like you need immediate support, such as a feeling of self-harm, then either post in Suicide Prevention as Vicky suggested, or log into Chat and talk with a crisis counselor.

 

Regarding the general topic of mental illness, please be reminded that none of the Mods or Admins are therapists or qualified to offer diagnoses or medical opinions. Even if a member was a health care professional, we probably would not allow them to offer medical or psychological counseling or advice.
