What are you wearing today?

I got rid of a few grocery stores game tickets and a couple old receipts. Still not enough room for shoes.  Problem is I refuse to leave my makeup bag, lock pick set or any one of my masks at home Maybe I’ll get ballet flats.

I've got a pair of boot-socks that collapse like, well, socks with outdoors-ready soles. I wouldn't want to wear them for a long walk alongside the road, but they'd get me back to my car where I could keep my backup shoes.

Hugs!

I've noticed my purses have gotten smaller over the years.

I used to carry all kinds of things in my bag just see no reason to have so much in there anymore.

Ya know @Teri Anne and @Jackie C.you might have valid points there. I would like to carry a smaller purse. I could just rely  more on my car(s) and use them as mobile base stations. I haven’t done that since high school. Just need to carry enough in my purse to get back to the car.

Genetics, sorry. I really never had one.

Jackie, I hate you! Just kidding, but my Adam's Apple is way too prominent.

The purse thing. yeah, I carry a very big purse because I need stuff, just in case.  Are a spare pair of high-heels over the top for my purse?

I have 3 purses: My large "work" purse /tote serves as my laptop bag plus purse plus large center area for shoes/cardigan/small lunch.  The other two smaller ones are for quick trips to the store or going out purses.  And yes, I have a Tory Burch addiction. The tote was a coming out gift, the red one I bought at a consignment shop and the green one my wife got me for xmas at the same consignment shop.  wish I could carry the smaller ones to work but I need to take a laptop with me so...Tote it is most days

Oh, I like that green one @Bri2020...and @ElizabethStar, the boots are great, but was admiring those girlish legs!

I got the kind of wallet I've always wanted over a month ago.  It won't fit in a pocket, so I haven't left the house without a purse since.  Looks, but no comments so far.  I Friggin love carrying a purse!  ?

I really need another purse. I one I currently have is falling apart already. It was given to me so it's such a big deal. I like Bri's multi-purse method.

No particular reason...I just finished all my chores for the day, and felt like building an outfit.  ?‍♀️

I love your style Ann! And yes, one never needs a reason to build a cute outfit.

@ElizabethStar regarding clicking heels... I have two pairs very similar to those boots and I love them. Great for walking a lot. They used to click, but I bought a piece of 1/8” thick rubber, glued it onto the heels with shoe repair glue, then scissored off the excess. Nice and quiet! Look for Durometer 70-80A for the firmness, about the same as a car tire. Shoe repair outlets or a parts seller like McMaster Carr are good sources. $12 helped me quiet many pairs of shoes!

Thanks @Emily Michele  I’ll keep that in mind as I’m sure I eventually get tire of the noise. For now I like it and think it helps with the presentation.

I think I’ve spilt too much coffee on my keyboard. My thing about the purse should have read. It was given to me so it’s NOT such a big deal.

I find spilling coffee in my brain has more of that sort of effect than spilling it on the keyboard!

When I first "came out" the clicking was kind of like a statement but when I went down like ton of bricks on a slick floor wearing a short skirt I sourced some thin rubber tips from the cobbler

Still not confident enough to share pictures, but my sister that knows apparently caught me looking at hairstyles for longer hair than what I'm currently at and gave me hair extensions that I'm fairly sure she stole off one of our older sisters, because it's a little darker brown than my hair, and she's a natural blonde. I'm not entirely sure why or when she took it, although it's been years since they were all in one place, but it did feel nice having longer hair and today I learned that long hair is far harder to deal with than you'd think.

So, today I'm wearing long hair in the rough over the shoulder ponytail that is basically the current limit of what I can do with long hair. No clothes yet, that has to wait for the weight to go down, but now that I know why I hated my body and have something that makes me feel good and happy waiting, it's started to slip down, so I'll be posting photos here one day.

On the purse/handbag discussion, my keys, phone and wallet do have the worst habit of jamming into each other in the most awkward possible way if I dare to have more than one of them in a pocket, so I can definitely see the appeal. Especially these days where a spare mask is probably a good idea, never mind the usual packet of tissues, mints, and so on.

So, update on the boots. I managed to wear them all day. I did however have to take then off a couple times and rub my feet. Maybe because they're super new and need to be broken-in, I'm gonna go with that. I did almost go down a few times from catching too much of the side of the heel when I turned. Thankfully I never actually went down but did leave some serious skid-marks.  My friend gave me a few pointers. Well mostly reminders throughout the day to take shorter slower steps. She has style and knows how to carry herself so I happily take any advice she offers me. I stood most of the day and 10-1/2 hours was long enough. I took them off for the drive home. Although I currently have 3 other pairs in my work car I choose to drive home in socks. All-in-all it wasn't a bad experience and I felt so amazing. Now I need more outfits to wear with them.

I can't get shoes my size locally, but that hasn't stopped me from practicing my "high-heeled" gait! $DEITY I need to get some nice women's shoes!

I haven't gotten up the nerve to try heels.  My feets are kinda big to start with, and I'm already tall for a woman.  I don't feel a need, although I am kinda curious.

I was same way with weight, once I realized why I hated my body and opened up to being trans, my commitment to a healthy body stuck and i shed 50lbs in 5 months.  If weight loss is a goal, and you plan on going on T-blockers/HRT, get the weight where you want before than if possible. It is really hard to lose weight with a woman's metabolism/muscle mass.

You will discover that IF your women's pants even have pockets they will be tiny and almost nothing fits in them. Purse is a must most days.   Long hair isn't too much of pain depending on your hair type.  Product will be your friend/bane of existence. lol

Good lord- 10-12 hours in any womens shoes is an accomplishment.  Wait till you wear pumps to work one day. lol. They will be off your feet any time you sit at your desk.  Yes, short steps, don't "corner" like you do in a car or skis, step-turn-step and always pivot on your toes, not the heel like men do. Wedges will mess you up because they aren't stable on the edge so if you change direction slightly and lean on the outer edge at all they will turn your ankle.

They just give you a different energy/feeling walking in heels. I feel so much more confident (even though I might bust my ass). I wear size 11 mens and 5'11" and don't have issues.  Get a 2" "block" heel to try first.  If you like the angle then look at a narrower heel.  I also love 2.5"-3" wedges.  No way I'm wearing anything higher than 3" though.  Too old for that.

I used to do the high heel thing a lot and still have many pairs.

For some reason when I first came out I felt I had to wear heels to be authentic (gosh I dislike that word now) but I learned otherwise over time.

I can wear 3 and 4 inch heels reasonably pain free  but anything higher makes my feet hurt if I wear them very long.

Good evening   @Adrianna Danielle wow 13 years out of a harbor freight tool.  That’s amazing, and lucky.  I read an article recently about how harbor freight does make inexpensive tools. It seems that some percentage of them are expected to fail in some manner.  However they are typically made with the same laborers  parts design as name brand high end tools.  If you get a good one it can last for a long time.

Happy anniversary @Willow!   Good luck, @Birdie!   Congratulations on the new gear @Adrianna Danielle!   My family is currently considering a big move. My wife applied for and received an offer for a job in WA. If all things are equal I am down for a change of scenery, but it’s not that simple. Much maths are about to happen…wish me luck! ;)

Or they could live and let live and not clog the courts with games of roulette? To absolve the attempt based on a perceived chance of success is gambling in another guise.   Sure, it could all be marketing to gin up the base, but we see it constantly getting pushed at the local, State, and Federal levels. Don’t we want lawmakers focused on issues of import? Maybe we’re a distraction, but that means we become social targets. If we’re really just a side show game to them, they obviously don’t give a damn what the repercussions are for us; we’re just lambs for slaughter. So why support people or adjacent policies that do that to us? Why believe these jaguars won’t eat your face when they tell you that, if they can, they will?

Manufacturing jobs have increased by nearly 800k since Biden’s inauguration. Deficits and debt are up as well, which water down some of the positive metrics.  Given the fact we were coming out of a pandemic and then into a global economy affected by a Russian aggression and then a war in the Middle East, things wouldn’t be ideal. But we’re not on a gold standard anymore. Government budgets aren’t household budgets. Inflation was up but is coming down, which means that government spending isn’t uncontrolled.  Honest news media? Which news are we referring to? I recommend looking into Ground.news and their blind spot feature. It will show you, regardless of your leanings, what you’re not seeing in your typically consumed news.    MAGA is not about making America great again or otherwise. It’s a marketing cult for populist conservatism, aka the cult of Trump. America being great is not bad or a bad idea, but its choice as the moniker of the campaign is not-so-subtle political marketing. By default, no one wants to argue against the idea, however it creates a dichotomy where “the other side must not want (or is actively trying to destroy) it”. It’s an empty slogan because America was no greater during the Trump years and you can logically argue our global cache was diminished during his term, which was marked by sentiment of the US being a unilateral agitator.

smiles I think I need to help him find a way to simply love others, regardless of identifying with them or understanding their journey..but I thought I recall stories of Jesus being asked which of 10 laws were greatest..n the answer being 1. God us God n have no other gods you worship..asking forgiveness to friends who practice religions with polydieties..but I think catholic say 1 god..n the 2nd rule is almost as important..love each other as I have loved you   maybe if I can focus him on we all believe God wants us to love n help each..maybe he'll forget the footnote he seems to be inserting, unless they are lgbt..then they go to hell...nerd   sorry probably too politically charged..delete if so with my apologies  hugs to all who want them

So, I don't know what this is called, but it's kind of like when you see the boob bridging to the collarbone. I hate it. You can totally see I have a chest. How do I fix it and what is it called?   (I'm wearing an old gc2b binder I got from someone at school that is not my specific sizing, but it's all I can work with)

Nationally, sure.  But where I live, there aren't two large segments.  There's a majority, and a few who just don't fit and probably ought to move out.  I was in a nearby city a few days back, and I saw a billboard for the "Freedom From Religion" foundation.  That's acceptable there.  Here... folks would be making a bonfire.    I don't really see how the different sides CAN get along.  I see what goes on in California, and its like watching news from some alien planet.  It has very little to do with LGBTQ+ issues, really.  I can't live their way, I won't live their way, and I have no desire to compromise at all in that direction.  I'd prefer to be neighbors in separate nations, and I think folks would get along better that way.  I firmly believe the anti-trans stuff wouldn't exist here if we had a new republic of the Center-South area.  Even a micro-state of just my county and a couple others would be fine.    I get the giggles when folks think that Trump is somehow "far right."  Around here, he's a barely-acceptable centrist.  And by the standards of 100 years ago, its true.
    • Ivy
I don't think the Dems have a corner on division.  I do try to kinda keep up with the antics on Fox for 5h1+s and giggles. We have two large segments of the population, living in their own bubbles, with completely opposite views of our society, who never talk to each other, only at each other. People don't even want to get along with each other. We're tearing ourselves apart from the inside, while the rest of the world just sits back and watches.
