Both of you look so good. I wish I could go out to dinner somewhere. I'm still a bit scared of covid so I get in and out of stores as fast as possible without looking like a crazy woman.

@Confused1OMG does anyone else here roller skate? Was gonna post an actual pic of me wearing them but no cel phone no camera so . .

Took the grandkids (2) skating last Weds and, upon renting a size 11, my feet starting killing me not to mention *a wobbling* left & right so . .

Following day spent two hours on web looking to buy a specific Chicago 800 "dance skate" (same as when a kid) just to find SOLD OUT everywhere I looked? Well, "Made in China" explains it but took a chance here (women's sizing is smaller right?) and - low & behold - they FIT perfect am happy as a clam!

Thanks Holly I really appreciate the nice compliment.

Liz don't be afraid to go out just don't go to really busy places.

Take your precautions like you do going to work.

It had been so long since I had Japanese cuisine and it was a real treat.

My date was a guy I met recently thru a girl friend.

@Teri Anne and @Holly Elizabeth You both look great!  And a Date Night.....do tell, how did it go?

@Linda Marieas always, you rock the dress!

No way you are getting me into skates, I've had enough orthopedic surgeries to last a lifetime. lol

Liz, I don't go into restaurants either and I'm fully vaccinated. I do grab takeout or if they have very well spaced out outdoor seating like the taco place I had lunch at today, I will do that.  I don't mind shopping because of the vaccination plus I wear a N95 and have hand sanitizer with me at all times.  I give people plenty of space in stores,

Yesterday a clothing delivery arrived! I got a bunch of cami tops from Amazon in Medium and Large not sure which would fit and planned on returning the ones that didn't.  The medium was too small so my wife took them instead.  This morning we woke up seperately and when we met in the kitchen, low and behold, we're both wearing jeans and the same blue cami SMH.  Twins haha.  We both refused to change so we even went out to said Taco place together that way. (I looked cuter because I had my hat though lol).

Hi Kiera,

I haven't roller skated in 40 years and I wasn't good at it back then. I'd probably break something if I started now. I'm glad you found some skates that fit. I like the hat.

Hugs,

Mike

Its been at least 30 years for me.  My legs were sore for a week and my back side was black and blue from falling.  That was it for me!  I will admit it was fun though!

@Teri Anne you look great and I'm happy you enjoyed yourself!  You go Girl!!

Thanks Jani I had a great time.

I too loved skating when I was a kid but I'm not fond of busting my butt on a hard surface these days.

Well I took a couple of good falls but attribute it the rental skates. Used to work at a Professional rink in NJ as a kid as the one "patrolling" backwards, slowing down speeders, and helping you up when *crashed*. Don't see THAT much anymore but 'ole habits are hard to break.

OMG sad the rink is No More! It was 'State' Arena back then not 'Skate' and they gave me free admission plus skates (like above) in return for helping out unpaid. Mom used to HATE driving sister & I back/forth to Lakewood in her '66 Chrysler  . . .

@Teri Anne I'm jealous skating was (and still is?) a great date, way to MEET!

I spent a summer as a car-hop. It was pretty cool, I got paid to skate all day. I learned to figure skate when I was 6 or 7. I had no desire to play hockey, just wanted to jump and spin..ya know, like the other girls. OMG, the signs were there. Why did no one ever pick up on them.

One of our mods here, Jody Ann,  a few years back loved to skate, she coached a women's roller derby team which she eventually joined.  She was unfortunately severly injured in an attack not related to gender.  We haven't seen her for years now.

I used to love to skate both with online road skates and ice skates.  I've fantasized heading ton the rink now wit a cute pair of tights and a "skating skirt" but i fear arthritis might make that quite hard. In old girl can dream though.

Hugs,

Charlize

As a kid, I roller skated almost every weekend.  My parents both roller skated and they got all the kids into it.  I was more into it than my siblings were and consequently, I used to go with my mom a lot.  Fond memories for sure.

I had to wear black roller skates but deep down, I really wanted to wear the white ones.  In fact, wearing white roller skates and a poodle skirt would have put me over the moon.  Unfortunately, I think that outfit would have put my parents over the moon for a different reason.

I never was any good on skates - ice or wheels.

Oh, I had a doctors appointment this morning. I wore this. This top really needs something more, like another top over it. Way too much showing. Lol

You look lovely in the dress that is such a pretty dress too.

You are way bolder than I am with the top in the second pic.

Every time I wear a low cut top people stare and that makes me uneasy.

Link to comment

Thank you sweetie.  I thought about it and I really don’t care if they stare. Wow that rhymed. LOL

The thing about the second top is that I’m not sure I’m going to wear it again. My girls are too exposed in it. It’s cute, but not for general audiences. Not even PG if you know what I mean. LOL

I used to wear semi revealing tops/ short skirts when I first "came out" trying to prove something I guess but these days I don't have anything to prove.

Actually NOT those times were definitely BETTER! And telling my father, before he passed, turned out to be quite easy because he had already been "primed" for me: his best "male" co-worker friend (mom was BF with wife "Lee" as well), living just down the street from us, in the mid 1960's, was eventually FIRED when she transitioned and become "Georgette"!

I was only 'bout 10, they moved away to north Jersey soon thereafter, but mom and Lee remained close and we ALL finally moved south to Florida together as well (sans "Georgette" of course!) WEIRD ALERT SORRY!!

No one that hasn’t gone through the self perceived shame and guilt about the feelings we’ve had cannot understand 1. Why we need a therapist we trust. 2.  Why we suddenly need to talk to them. 3. Why things set us off and throw us into a bout of extreme depression.  4. Why we feel threatened even when we aren’t in immediate danger.  That threat may be only in our mind but it’s our need for reassurance.

Be careful about software bundled with your antivirus! Most likely they are using it to spy on you. As far as I know the only 2 VPN providers that actually protect your data (and delete it as soon as possible if they keep anything at all) are Proton VPN and Mulvad VPN - the latter one actually had their servers stormed by law enforcement and they walked away with nothing (cause Mulvad had no customer data to offer). I would avoid antiviruses altogether tbh, they're not a magic cure for internet safety and the built in one from Microsoft does its job well enough. If you're not on WIndows you don't even need one - just be smart about what you download of course.   Your web browser asking you to turn it off is probably because the browser would prefer to know your real location, just ignore it or pick a better browser, like Firefox.

It was stupid of me, the cop was in front of me in a u-turn cut in a spot I know about. I was running a little late because of the slow truck, and the cop happened to be there today. It is like one of only three places for a speed trap on my commute. I usually don’t speed as I try to leave enough of a time buffer in the morning.

The worst possible scenario is 4 points on my license, which a defensive driving course will negate it. I had considered getting a lawyer, but it is probably not worth the expense.
    • Ivy
Yeah, I was puzzling on that too…
    • Maddee
Good luck maam 😊 I’ve experienced that they’ll lower the points , if you show up in court and pay the ticket.

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums Mealaini,   Like you I knew in my preteen years that I was meant to be a girl, but didn't have any way to bring it up in the early 1960s. It was the expanding news outlets on the telly that allowed me to understand that I may not be the only person who felt this way. Wow was my mind expanded once the internet became a reasonable research tool in the 1990s.   My grown daughter (42) is nonbinary and atheist with pagan leanings. So when I came out to her she was thrilled and wanted to dress me up and show me the world. Well I think she wanted to show me to the world. My son (45) is evangelical christian and very upset with his sister for many reasons. However he's a reluctant supporter of me as transgender. I'm out to my wife and we've been married for 48 years this June, so I'm in a very late in life transition.   The other thing that has me going down an internet rabbit hole is your location. It clearly states United Kingdom with a sub flag of Illinois. I've searched the web and can't seem to locate Illinois, UK. Am I missing something?    Best wishes,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
    • Timi
Thank you for sharing, @Mealaini, and welcome.    I appreciate your description of IFS and your book recommendation. I have a few close friends who are very enthusiastic about IFS and my therapist is incorporating some of those elements into my therapy.    -Timi

Leg hair.  Shaving it was a surprisingly big decision.  (Not as big as the beard tho)  After I did it a few times, it's never really grown back.  Haven't shaved them in a couple of years and you'd never know it.  A daughter living with me doesn't shave hers, and she is much furrier than I ever was.     I don't exactly hate my living as a guy in the past.  TBH, I was never quite there anyway.  But I just dropped it.  I live full time fem, and it would bother me a lot to go back to being a guy.  But I don't have to appease family or an employer.

@Loreleiit always sucks getting a ticket for passing a slower vehicle. I'm guessing the police officer was some distance behind you until you performed your passing maneuver. My most costly ticket was from a similar situation, however we were heading out of town and the last straight stretch of road to pass the two slower vehicles ahead of me was still in a 35mph zone. I didn't see the officer behind me and as soon as I pulled out to pass he turned on his lights and siren. Since I was in the process of passing, I figured the next safe place to pull over was at the upcoming roadside park. He didn't accept that and wrote me up for passing two gaps, speed in excess of 15mph over, and failure to stop. He did not care to hear about any fellowship in public safety, and no professional curiosities would be honored.  I did go to court plead my case and the judge, and he did see my point of continuing to pass with the intentions of pulling over safely at the roadside park. He was very familiar with the location. This allowed him to drop the failure to stop charges, but I did have to pay the full 15mph over speeding ticket. So my lesson learned was to never pass when entering or leaving a small town or village.   Hugs, and good luck in court.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
