Well yay!  Just officially tried on all the thrift store stuff!  It, sadly, lacks a fitting room.  It has an extremely liberal return policy because of that, but you essentially have to buy anything you think you may want to keep to prevent it from flying away.  And YES!  I found leggings!  Also some nice jeans.  I will start sharing as soon as they are cleaned!

Wear your leggings and a "sports bra/top or something else suitably tight to the thrift shop. Then just "try things on" in the aisle over top those items. That's what we all do in our area. lol

I think I did a thing!

Look who decided to make a cameo.

P.s. I have got to figure out what to do about my hairline.  I love my hair...  I just wish I had more of it!

This is a wonderful idea.  I'll have to start trying that.  Thank you!

That outfit is so cute!  I can't tell if there is a design on the mask or if it's just one color and obscured.  I need a scarf like that!  Your four legged friend approves too apparently! 🤗

So this girl here went out dancing with her friends tonight. Great time as always! Somehow I ended up in charge and got three different friend groups together so now everybody knows each other!

As an FYI, the leggings have a pocket! It's just about the right size for ID or a folded dollar bill. They get sweaty though. A small price to pay!

You can't really tell in this shot, but the top is backless. Perfect for club wear.

Cute dress. I wish I had enough up top to pull off to wear one like that.

Well thank you @Ticket For Epic!  I took @Jackie C.’s suggestion this time and went with the Mermaid shade with the glitter coat.

I love the outcome!

Glitter makes everything better!

@Jackie C., you mentioned the shirt you had in that one picture that said something about Satan but you covered it with that hoodie.  Is it this one?

Maybe Today Satan Parody White Print Tee

I could really use this shirt. Sadly, I couldn't wear it work because it says Satan and not (insert positive religious figure). Then again, if it said "Maybe today, Jesus" the message might be about the same.😉

@Lenneth. The jeans look great, not to mention the badass boots!  Oh, and the shirt is perfect!

Coincidentally, I got my first pair of girl jeans today.  I'm going to miss pockets.  Small price to pay but still.  Trans men must put on their first part of gender appropriate pants and be like... ”behold the awesome power of pockets.  Mua hahahah haha.”.  Meanwhile, we girls are like... "What the hell is this crap.  Tease me with pockets... *Mumbles... Useless, pathetic excuse...

IMG_20220302_194240307.thumb.jpg.e0366c8706a6dcd889bb068f8eb838b8.jpg

Yes, I'm showing off my girls.  *Blushes and turns away*

Squats are definitely in my future, I do not have the booty to fill these out.  My waist makes me roughly a size 12-14 and my hips 6-8.

Okay, I can sew and have been tailoring my boy shirts for years, even my t-shirts...  Because I am not shaped like Sponge Bob!!!!  (Sorry for the mini rant). But I haven't the first idea on how to alter jeans.  Looks like thrift shops and spend the money saved on a tailor or rather a  seamstress now, as I assume they would be better suited to my needs.

I've just given up on pockets all together. They're all small and useless. At least with a purse I know where my stuff is and I won't find anything in the wash.

@Elizabeth Star, you’d love the book *Good Omens*.  The description of Satanists is literally, “they have bills, forget to pick up the kids from sports games, leave the bathroom sink running, and love holidays.”  They are in no way different except for holding Satan as their diety.

Well, I'm going to have to spend the next, oh, 80 hours pretending I'm that someone I used to pretend to be. So looking forward to Sunday night.

Sorry you have to suffer through that @Hannah Renee.  That's never fun.  Good thoughts and wishes your way though!  At least you have the strength to do it.  And honestly you look like a woman that is looking at someone being obnoxious like, "Nope.  Not taking your bovine refuse.  Sit down, shut up, and speak when spoken to."  I'm also a huge fan of that tattoo.  That's exceptionally pretty.

@Hannah Renee, I feel your pain. I still have to present in guy-mode when I do travel training, this will come to an end in 2023, when my business partner and I dissolve or sell the company. I'm not out to him yet, however he has questioned my fingernails and hair length, combined with lack of facial hair. Last month at a hazmat conference in Daytona Beach, FL my wife and I were sitting at the Plaza Resort & Spa bar having a few drinks. He walked up and asked who's foofoo drink is that? I said it was mine and he just shook his head.

Hugs as you get through this next segment of pretending, I really do your style of dress, and look forward to being there full time in 9 months.

Thanks so much! @Jackie C.  Wish I could fill out the jeans a little better.  Truth be told, I have a pair of tight fitting sweat pants on under them so they aren't so baggy.  With a  32in waist, 37in hips and 44in bust, it's hard to find things that fit.  I am not looking forward to warmer weather when I can't hid behind layers!

@Mmindy  Thanks you!

Saddly, fun time or "authentic time" as I come to think of it is over, back to "boy mode".  Sigh*  But my toes are pretty and purple, I've got my favorite panties on, as well as my favorite sent and rainbow shoe laces and a pink shirt!

I am more than a little ashamed that I haven't been able to bring myself to shave my beard yet.  I have had it for almost 20 years and so many things are changing that I feel I like if I shave it...  the cats out of the bag!  I remember when I first grew it out,  thinking that I was growing a mask and couldn't figure out why I felt that way.  well, that's beginning to become clear!20220304_155753.thumb.jpg.0f043df6a24bf71d77fd879479bd8125.jpg20220304_155744.thumb.jpg.2b09a976985a6f8cfedef315c9f34ddf.jpg

So, I guess this is me owning my shame in hopes that I can work through it.

I started out today in a blue knee-length skirt, matching top, and simple black flats...however, after stoppng by Torrid to pick up the cutest pair of pink Mary Janes...I had to buy an outfit to go with them...so then it was bootcut jeans, black cami, pink kimono top - and the pink Mary Janes...lol!

I did my own makeup today...going for a more natural look (read: it was a hell of a lot easier...just foundation, mascara, lipstick and a light finishing powder...

Wishing everyone a great weekend!💜

I have to agree with @Jackie C..  You have absolutely got the figure for that look.  I…don’t. 😂  I think you are rocking the look fabulously!  Enough for me to be jealous! 😜

As for, “boy mode,” I can empathize on the shaving issue.  I hit 36 in September and, with the occasional break, I’d been bearded since I was old enough to have one.  I’m small and look younger than I am, so I kept it to look older.  It’s not super full here (and this picture is like 13 years old), but you can tell.

I just started fighting with it in the past few months.  It’s my greatest dysphoric trigger.

I hid behind my beard most of my life.  It was not terribly full, but chest length to make up for it.

Cutting it off was a big turning point… I was committed.

I completely relate to this.  My partner of 5 years has made it clear she won't be going with me if I go down this path. I feel like I wasted her time with my own fear and procrastination.  I visit my elderly parents (my mother has dementia) and my first thought is there's no way I can put them through this. I think the same thing when I see my adult daughters.     Nobody is holding us hostage but us.

I do get this, really.  However this is part of the reasoning behind the blockers.  Without them there will be "irreversible" changes, only not the ones wanted. No, I don't think this should be done lightly, but I have a problem with forbidding it by law in all cases.
    • Ivy
Yeah.  I have 6 of them.  I learned a lot.

I'm kind of torn on this issue. On the one hand, I have met or seen youngsters, and there is very little doubt they are trans. It would seem cruel to deny them care toward this end. On the other hand, there are many others who may dip their toes into the waters while exploring themselves only to realize it isn't who they are. My daughter had a friend like that in high school. First he wanted to date her. Then he thought he was transfeminine for a season then realized that wasn't him.   We go slow on so many other things with kids. We don't let underaged folks drink or vote. We would question someone who locked into a career at age 12-15 (though there ARE some people who do know exactly what they want to do when they grow up very early in life). We would discourage marrying very young, etc.   I'm never crazy about government regulations on things because they tend to screw everything up. So I hate this has become such a political football where neither side listens to the other... But there is wisdom in going slow and allowing things to play out and making sure before such drastic measures as blocking puberty and having surgeries are taken...   Of course, it should be a person-by-person decision, working in concert with family, community and medical professionals, but it seems we never want to do it this way. We always seem to want to throw everyone and everything into a one-size-fits-all dynamic...

Hey all, been on estrogen monotherapy for about two months. Man, I am just tired all the time. I feel like I have a low-level cold. Hard to get out of bed in the mornings. Even when I get in a good 8-9 hours sleep. Just have the blahs. Leg muscles are sore, like I ran all day...   There are a lot of other potential factors. I drink way too much caffeine (though I have always done that and not always felt this tired). I tend to stay up late on nights when I have to get up early the next morning. Not enough exercise. Have some thyroid issues, though I thought I had those back within normal ranges. Possible low potassium levels.   I realize no one here is a medical pro, per say, just curious if it is in others' experience to feel extreme fatigue for a season when starting HRT. This is one of the reasons I chose not to do spiro, is that I read it could cause lethargy and fatigue and make you pee all the time (I am having those issues too), but I am having a hard time with these effects anyways.   I suspect my T was low before I even started HRT (just by observing how the, err, equipment, hasn't functioned so robustly over the past few years)... Maybe my body isn't sure who is in charge right now in terms of hormones since a new sheriff has arrived but only in minor quantities at this point... thanks again!   EasyE

I relate to a lot of this ... in my 50s now ... never really questioned my body but have always been fascinated with girl stuff (and loved that I had two daughters because it gave me an excuse to explore the feminine world more)...   I like how you said this: "When I dared to take another peek inside, my egg cracked big time." Yep ... yep ... yep...

Sorry to hear you lost both your parents young. My dad died from a heart attack when I was 10. My mom died a few years ago. I never came out, truly, to either of them, about my gender identity. On one hand it is freeing, not having to deal with “what would they think or feel about me now” but on the other hand, I wish they had truly known.

Thanks Kathy!    Some place where the peer pressure is to dress more feminine instead of less.  Imagine that. I haven't left the house in fem clothing since an outing to a local LGBT club over 15 years ago.   She's also pointed me to some support groups so that's next as well.     And for those who noticed, yes, I committed a rather egregious grammatical error in my post, but I couldn't figure out how to edit it.  That stuff bugs me to death. Geez Louise .
