trying to find decent office clothes that fit appropriately can be difficult. i dont have a good mirror, but i was so happy this day. i had to search the kids section for the more 'masculine' dress shoes i was hoping for in my size, but lucked out and found ONE pair in the right size, FINALLY!

Of course, it took me that long to get this dress on. lol. I't got some neoprene to it and getting it zipped proved to be a challenge.

You have great taste @Bri2020! Love the outfit.🥰 Well worth the extra effort today. Lookin’ good!

Been struggling through dysphoric melancholy and was looking through the pictures of professional makeover photo shoot. I didn't feel gender identity concerns until about 4 years ago at 64. It surfaced with a vengeance and I was overwhelmed by the feeling I am a woman. After 3 weeks of pain and research decided to experiment with presenting myself as I felt at business specializing in transformation photo sessions. I will show two of the photos from that session. This was the very first time I had ever dressed as a woman. The makeup professionally dome, my outfits and wigs were selected with their help. I can see my gender euphoria in the pictures. Unfortunately the business was closed due to the pandemic. If you have thought about doing something like I heartily encourage. It is amazing how affirming it is to see yourself looking so good.

These are very beautiful photos of you. I agree with Marcie regarding the first pic. In the first photo, you look a little more relaxed and comfortable.

Your feminine figure is amazing. Curves like that are to die for. I’ll also mention that the colors you’re wearing are very complimentary to your presentation.

Very nice, @miz miranda

@Marcie Jensen@Susan RYou are correct, I was pretty tired by the time of the second photo. The session all told was about 8 hours. I completely forgot to add my commentary on the difference between the photos. In the first photo my smile presents so much more joy and confidence. Although I was still enjoying the experience, I didn't let myself smile in the second photo.  Being a triathlete there is a technique used to cope with the discomfort in he later stages of the race, smiling. Research has shown the smiling can help diminish the negative thoughts and discomfort. As for the curves they are not mine but when I saw myself in the mirror it was bliss.

Amazing pictures here!  That Alice costume is really popping!  And Miz Miranda's pictures are over the top!  This is really something to work toward.  I think I'm pretty challenged with looking ultra feminine though.  None of the women in my life were very feminine.  I don't think I know anyone who wears makeup.  We've definitely got a hippie thing going on in my group of friends and family.

I took this picture a year ago.  When I came out to my best friend a couple weeks ago, his first reaction was "but you're bald!"  Of which my reply should have been, "What are you talking about?  I've got hair down to my nipples!"  I got some good pictures of my balding before starting HRT, so we'll see if it does anything up there.

Had a great day shopping yesterday. I picked up 5 new pair of shoes and a new hand bag for $120. I really didn't need the shoes but got them because I found them in my size. Very hard to find shoes for my big feet. I also found two new dresses a pair of slacks and a skirt at the thrift store for less then $30. Shopping as the true me is so much more fun than in the past, so many more options and the colors are fabulous. Will post some pics in the next few days. Hope every one has a blessed day.

I keep finding myself all dressed up with no place to go, so I thought I'd start a thread to show off whatever outfit or fashion piece people are feeling good about and want to share.  I'll go first...

I met up with a friend in town today.  We had talked about wigs in the past.  She had offered to go to the wig store with me.  (She knew the people - she knows everybody around here)

I have been too chicken to go on my own.

But I came out of there like this.

I can't believe how much difference it made.

I am quite happy with this.

What a nice friend

And hair too!

Was it hard to decide on one?

I wanted something more or less grey of course.  There weren't a lot like that.  And I had thought I wanted something longer.  But again, most cis-women my age don't wear their hair long.  So that was a consideration also.   We tried this one, and I was skeptical.  But when I looked in the mirror I was like…  Wow!    What a difference it made.

I still can hardly believe it.  I've been wearing scarves and hats to cover my head all along, so having it on just feels normal.

I feel like I'm on a roll here, with the name & gender change… and now this!

Seems too good to be true.

I'm a happy girl tonight.

I usually wear a track suit every where I go. I’m usually fairly happy with the ambiguity. Tonight though I felt the need to dress up in private. There’s a thanksgiving potluck next weekend put on by a gender support group and I aim to go in style. I need to do something about my hair though. It’s a mess. I haven’t cut it in over two years. I think I’m going to need some makeup too to cover up the potholes left by electrolysis.

Love your new profile pic, Ivy!! Sometimes change is good. You’re looking great. Best of all, you like the new look too and that’s all that really matters.

Hi @Aggie1! It feels good to dress up once in awhile. You’re looking good. I hope you have a great time at the upcoming potluck. Those types of engagements are the best. Let loose and have some fun with those who support you for you!

All My Best,

Welcome to the wide, wild world of transgender, M.A.  It can definitively be overwhelming, but everyone here is amazing, so no doubt you'll get bunches of wonderful support. I think you'll be happy you found us.

@Ladypcnj  This is so true.  I think all of us here have had a post or two that didn't get a response.  Sometimes, it's as simple as adding to your original to post for a clearer explanation, or re-reading what you wrote originally, and rephrasing it.  But don't despair, we aren't ignoring you.   Hugs,   Sally

What season are you?  If you don't know, look around on the internet. Or ask a girl friend..  Maybe someone here is even a color consultant?   And there are guides on figure-flattering clothes for all shapes that you should look into.    Abby

Just know that your kids will probably turn out OK, in spite of the chaos.  One of my partners was widowed in her very early 30s, left with 3 kids.  They're teens now, and one graduated a year ago and is working, but still living at home.  A few bumps in the road, but the three are turning into responsible young adults.  It is amazing how resilient kids can be.  They should be able to handle your changes as well.

Had my time with my 2 long friends I was in the Army with.We went through the photo books and talked memories. They also found about the guy that bullied and sexually assaulted me.He is in prison, sexually assaulted and raped 2 women off base.Doing a 40 year sentence for this and was dishonorable discharged

I've been transitioning now for eight months but have been wearing women's clothing for 2+ years. I am over weight and approaching my 72nd birthday. I have purchase my solid color clothing online and recently graduated to 'V' neck tops. I have been hesitant to get anything more girly due to family issues, though with my hair style I am able to totally pass when dressed in a skirt and blouse.   About two  months ago I finally went and got my nails done (which I truly which I had done long ago) though not red nor pink (again family issues). To date I don't think I am having problems with being trans unlike others seem to have. The biggest problem I am having is with my clothing. Any suggestions my girl friends might have would be greatly appreciated.   Cindy

Umm.... if a post is ignored, live with it?   My stuff gets ignored sometimes, and its OK.  My life is different, and may seem kind of wacky to others.  Some folks just can't relate, or if I'm needing advice they just don't have it.  Diversity is like that sometimes.  If your post gets missed, don't take it personally.  Also, stuff that is new on weekends seems to get ignored more, since most folks are busy with family or other stuff during that time.  Overall, I think people here are pretty helpful.

I'd really love a professional stove.  There's actually one I want at Lowes, but its like $6k.  I've got plenty of money, the issue is that I'm not the queen (king?) of my den.  Or even of the kitchen.  My partner (husband's wife #1) owns that territory, and she's very attached to what she's got.  One of our stoves has 6 burners and a large oven, the other has 4 burners and a regular household sized oven.  And of course, there's always the wood-burning equipment.    Today was interesting.  We had the first campaign fundraiser for our sheriff and my sister.  My sister is running to be constable of our township.  Pretty sure she'll win, as her opponent is an old dude who is mostly running on "Don't elect a woman for a man's job"    What's weird is our sheriff is running as a Democrat, but he's conservative.  And his Republican opponent sounds like a leftist.  Welcome to Upside-down-ville   And of course all the kids got the chance to sit in a sheriff's car, and play with the lights.   We had a barbecue lunch and a dessert auction.  I baked three apple pies for it, and I was shocked that they sold for $20 each, since my cooking isn't that great.  My partner made her famous "Chocotorta."  It's like a chocolate layer cake with cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, and it tastes amazing.  Usually we have it for Christmas and other really special occasions.  Two guys got into a bid war, and it sold for $175!!!    Yep, this is politics in the South.  Barbecue, pies, and police cars.  A great way to spend a Saturday

Yes. That report is part of a conspiracy to torture and murder trans people. It is a lie. It is evil.
    • Ivy
TBH, I have no idea where to start with makeup.
    • Ivy
It seems plain to me, that this thing is simply a cherry-picked excuse to persecute trans people - especially trans youth in the UK.  And it will also be used here in the states to legislate against trans care here as well.   The right wing has already made up their mind about us, and they are just looking for "evidence" to legislate against us.     Seems like if they were really for "freedom" as they claim, they would leave us alone to live in our personal "delusions".   I mean, I have no problem with cis people.  Some of my best friends are cis people.

I am so happy with Maybelline products. For my basic needs, I love their Magic Eraser. I used the app to dial in the best shade and it works great just -- even as a very light "foundation"
