So much affirmation going on here! @Aggie1 go get your hair done for the party. It's so much fun. Two years is way to long. I love the length on you.  I now understand women's obsession with their hair stylists. It's kinda like having a girlfriend and a therapist and a beauty consultant all wrapped up in one.  haha   Mine is coming to my Vaginabration party.

I am so inspired by your example! What a wonderful way to celebrate with 50, count them, 50 friends!

I didn’t take an official picture of myself at the Harvest Festival dinner with 40 other ladies. I did get a candid shot someone else took of me though which I have cropped. My first time in public wearing something a bit more feminine. It was a lot of fun. I went out to the Margarita Factory a few days later in another outfit with a 7 or 8 others from the party, more of a local affair than the larger regional one. Once again I clean forgot to take a picture. I was told I looked cute though!

Last night was my celebration of the end of my medical transition.  Vaginabration was a huge success with 50 of my friends. loved ones and allies. I got this hot pink jumper about a month ago and was a perfect choice for the event. Bonus to the fat that I finally got to wear my ridiculously expensive shoes!!  I lasted about 4 hours in the heels before they had to come off. Just about everyone kicked off their shoes at the same time for dancing.  image.thumb.jpeg.17d67c97efdfa60b44f1a1b4eee76dbe.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.45aa933329d1dd0cc8cac1a37614b983.jpeg316419315_5594944173931897_3569293769207671424_n.thumb.jpeg.d1b63d8405071c041f7f5fc2523bfc34.jpeg

Earlier this afternoon, my husband dressed me up.  Not fancy or even normal stuff... he had my try on a new set of ultra thin Aramid Kevlar armor.  🤔  He took my measurements weeks ago, and had some made for me, as no store keeps or even manufactures stuff in my size.   Not comfortable to wear, but with the world being what it is these days, I'm not going to complain.

Now that the fitting is done, I'm back to my natural form: a very small pair of shorts and grass sandals.

My only jumpsuit, gaff panties, bra, bangle, earrings, nail polish, faded makeup & lipstick, and most importantly - a smile.   Been 11.5 days since last electrolysis session so many facial hairs too.

This is the look I've wound up with this winter.  I had fun wearing this to the pizza place this Saturday night.  There were probably over 100 people there and I felt good about myself.  It sure does feel good to be out of the closet.

Thanks, ladies. Dressing is much more fun now that I'm the real me. Cut off 4 inches of hair, and my daughter has been teaching me how to safely straighten it. She's also helping me with makeup.

Hannah, you look lovely.

Actually, I'm not wearing these yet, because I just ordered them, but rest assured I will be wearing them as soon as they arrive.  Do I actually need another pair of ankle boots?  Probably not, but I am of the opinion that a girl can't have too many pairs of shoes.  My wife would disagree.

To be honest, I have been on a quest to find a new pair of knee high boots, particularly a pair of brown boots.  Unfortunately, I am a male size 13 and I guess all shoe manufacturers have assumed that if your foot is as big as mine, you must also have extremely wide calves.  I just can't find a pair of knee high boots in my size with reasonably sized calves.  So, what does this have to do with my latest ankle boot purchase?  Well, I have decided that instead of being bitter or grousing about the fact that I can't find knee boots that fit, I would simply accept the situation and increase my ankle boot collection.  The thing about ankle boots is that calf size doesn't matter and since I have lovely calves anyway, ankle boots are a better choice.  How's that for playing the hand you are dealt?

Hi @Sally Stone. I too wear a men's size 13 and know how hard it is to find shoes and boots that fit. I've had pretty good results with OnlyMaker.com. Fair warning though--you will need to order a size 15 in women's shoes with this firm.

Good Luck!

@Sally Stone where did you find them?  My feets are kinda big and I want a pair of ankle boots with a bit of heel.  I need 11 1/2 mens (US) or like 13 womens (US).  They don't make them it seems.

Funny, but when I first came out to one of my daughters, her first question was how many shoes I had.

I mostly wear grass or cattail sandals any time it is warmer than 20 degrees out.

I dislike shoes....and I have the opposite problem as some of y'all in that I have tiny feet.  Some of my partners are similar enough that they can share shoes.  GF has big feet for a female, she and husband have the same size boots.

@IvyI think you will have good luck at either OnlyMaker.com or at Torrid. Rorrid carries a virtually identical bootie in size 13 in both medium width and WW. Their sizes are are true, and the fit is good.

Best.

Love this. Thanks for re-birthing a great memory for me. Dad taught me to drive a Ford tractor at four years old. And my crazy want was to plow it into trees, the car, or the house. For some reason the tractor seemed never to connect—it veered away from my target at the last second—every time. I never knew why until I was really old enough to drive and discovered how Dad could steer the tractor with its right- and left-side controlled braking system. I remember feeling such great glee at my wish for mayhem—with no bad consequences. Made a game from a memory. Thanks again. 💜

Just really started reading this thread today and it is fascinating. Thank you for sharing @Sally Stone... I started shaving my legs (and chest and arms) about eight years ago when I was living apart from my wife. I decided then that there was no going back - I just love smooth skin and really hate hate hate body hair (I have quite a bit -- "Hey, nice sweater" people would say when I took my shirt OFF).   My wife is not thrilled but I think in time it just fades into the background and folks don't give it a second thought after the novelty of noticing it. And if they do harp on it, it's like why does it matter so much to you what my legs look like?  I am kind of here too -- I want to express myself more and more outwardly in a feminine way. But I don't hate everything about being a guy. I would probably go 100 percent female dress if society were more accepting of that (and family)...

I was stuck behind a truck for like 6 miles doing 30 in a 45mph zone and when I got the opportunity to pass it I took it. Sped up and passed it and then noticed the flashing lights behind me… I just got my first tickets (other than parking tickets) in the 26 years that I have been driving. The speed limit changed in that area and it was a long downhill grade so apparently I was going 60 in a 40 zone. I was so nervous that I was shaking. Speeding and no registration (it is fully registered and insured but I couldn’t find the registration card). It was still affirming though in that I used my license showing my name to be Lorelei and got “maam’ed” by the cop. He was very professional and told me to plead not guilty and that he would reduce the charges if I came to court. Hopefully he will reduce the ticket to something that doesn’t give points. He told me that I should have given him my PBA card (a friend of mine’s husband is a cop had given it to me) with my license, not after the ticket is already written. The registration ticket will go away once I provide proof that it is registered.  I already ordered the replacement registration from NYS DMV online. Unfortunately the registration is still registered to my deadname of Rory so I will have to bring that up to the judge unless I can get to DMV first to change it first. Overall, this morning sucked.

I hear you. My therapist moved to another job at the VA.  I liked her a lot and was very comfortable with her. Now I have an appointment with a new one, but not till June.  I asked for the first one to be in person.  I think I'll be able to see what she's like better that way.

Hi Mealaini (what a beautiful name),   I applaud this attitude; I think that is such a healthy way to look at your situation. I have an ex-wife (who also has a beautiful Gaelic name) and we are such great friends now, having broken up, that we both agree our relationship has never been so healthy. She has found a man she loves; I don’t know if they will last indefinitely but I like him and he likes me and there are no hard feelings between any of us.  Anyway welcome, and thank you for sharing your story. I have been thinking of trying EMDR myself so it’s good to hear a success story.

I was in the field artillery in the early 70's.  At times we had to hump ammo.  A projo weighed around 200lbs.  There were very few women, they seemed to be mostly in the medical roles.  I suppose if you were openly trans, you'd have been kicked out for being gay. But I suppose things are a lot different now.  There are more technical jobs for one thing.  One of my daughters was in the Air Force for a number of years.  Started as an "airman", and came out as a captain (nurse).

I was mostly seen wearing boy's clothes at the time, my parents didn't show me my birth certificate until later on in life, but until then I wasn't old enough to start going to school, and so I hanged out with the rest of the other kids in my neighborhood. My parents decided to keep me home under their observations, they thought I was going through a phase, they couldn't figure out why my feminine mannerisms was consistent. One day at my parents' home, something happened to me which resulted in a car ride to the hospital's emergency room. After getting checked out, my childhood treating doctors couldn't diagnosed what was going on with me? It resulted in me being misdiagnosed and a family car ride back home, this was just the beginning of what would be a series of car rides back to the emergency room. My parents stopped saying I was going through a phase, now something physically was going on with me. Things at home got to the point when I heard my parents questioned about the gender marker on my birth certificate. There's more to my story, but it resulted in the aftermath of a surgical scar, and disappearance of that surgical medical records of what happened to me.

Reading your post, I need to comment I have breast forms and sometimes get a chance to wear them to bed. But wearing my lingerie they always fall out so I wear a more full coverage bra to bed so they stay where they are meant to!

This would be a nice place to start by introducing myself to everyone, I already graduated from high school, and some college. I played the piano when I was younger, and I played in some bands. I used to take walks along the sandy beach, while collecting rocks and seashells along my way, I guess that would be the mermaid side of me.  I like fashion clothes shopping, and spending time with my close friends and family. I'm an online administrator from my own website in the community, and group facilitator in the lgbtqai+ community. It's nice to meet new friends here, and whatever help I can be I'm here for you.
